There was a former big league left-hander named Dennis Rasmussen in the 1980s and 1990s. He was 6 foot 7. Perhaps all the Dennis Rasmussens out there are tall.
The tallest man is in the Ukraine, Leonid Stadnyk, but neither he nor the chinese man played baseball..... But.... my playing was just a publicity stunt. Had I actually played for a season, that could have broken a record.
@damtalldave the worlds tallest man is Sultan Kösen from Mardin Turkey . He is 8'1". Yes, Leonid is taller than Sultan, but Leonid refuses to be measured by Guiness. So he can't officially be the tallest since they can't measure him. They will go to the next tallest and whomever is willing to be measured. And that happens to be Sultan Kösen.
to get awareness for stuff like Marfan syndrome and put up with all the morons, yourself excluded, who don't read my previous explanations before they show the world they have no brains.
Hey dave, im sure you were that guy on that giant documentry the other day, im 6ft7 and 16years old. Did you say you grew 9 inches in one year haha. Did you see that igor who is
7ft8, he was on that documentry? My last question is, how long are those legs damn they must be like 40 inches on the inside leg.
its sweet that you can play baseball there, ( i play at local parks, not big at all)But its sorta unfair for someone your size, cause the strike zone is so big! but sweet that you get to play!
the northern league which joined the golden league is so bush league, they have no fans so they do all this dumb stuff with ripleys to attract people like traded that one guy for 10 maple bats just ridiculous
This was an exhibition game so the crown was smaller, the Saints average 6500 fans which it pretty good for having to compete with the Twins, I dont know much about the Goldeyes now, but they also had a good fan base 5 years ago when the Saints were in the Northern league...
the saint paul saints arent a minor league team they are a independent league team which means people on the team play simply for the love of the game
iv been spotted for england and iv got trials next month to be honest im pretty scared because i havnt played much softball so if anyone has any tips or new stuff they can teach me id be really gratefull for the surport. Thanks x
right. I mean if baseball were my passion I would have known how to be better but I never played in my life except softball when I was a kid 30 years ago.
Hey Dave, I recently was exposed to Marfan's syndrome ( I found out about it well reading about different genetic disorders.) I had a kid's camp teacher who I believed had this. Anyhow I'm interested in learning about this from your perspective, what is it like having Marfan's syndrome?
I commend your attempt to play baseball even at a minor level, im sure its not easy to at your height even to play baseball, the strike zone on someone your height has to be enormous. However, it probably would have been a little cooler if you actually "tried" to hit a ball. :(
Canadians are douchebags, :P (they shoulda played along)
Not really... i mean it must be tough for him to swing at balls around his ankles but he barely moved his front leg to get any power and he just threw the bat at the ball basically.
The Saint Paul Saints is a minor league team known for zany publicity stunts. My game was no less. My play didn't count. I hadn't played baseball since grade school. I did go to some batting cages but most of the pitches were near waist level, as they were when I practiced with the team. The opposing team could have gone along with the publicity and given me a chance of a hit but they didn't - hosebags!
I am not the tallest - the tallest is not the Chinese fella who married the 5'6" woman but Leonid Stadnik, a farmer from the Ukraine. But to find out more about me and the charitable work I do, check out the sites for Tall Clubs International and the National Marfan Foundation. I am also on documentaries of the Learning Channel, the Discovery Channel and National Geographic TV.
Now now. I dare any pro player to strike out as well as I did! Too bad I didn't record the team practice batting - with some previous batting cage practice, for a newbie, got me some hits. But they pitched me closer to my waist!
Those are some great cuts.
