A classic song by the original artist sung like he just came out of the sky himself,,,God what a voice...can never be duplicated. Thanks for the post!!!
@emerald825 Checking with Wikipedia u r correct! Burl Ives recorded the song 26 days before Vaughn Monroe did, so i stand corrected. But in the best spirit of my comment , Burl Ives got only as high as #21 for 6 weeks on the charts, in '49 While Mr Monroe's recording made it to #1,with 22 weeks on the charts in the same year 1949..And also according to Wikipedia, though this song was covered by more than 50 artists, to this day, VM's recording, is by far the biggest seller., Respectfully!
I agree. I grew up listening to Monroe's version of Ghost Riders in the Sky. From the Sons of the Pioneers to my favorite country singer, Johnny Cash, no one can sing it better than Vaughn Monroe.
I'm so glad, my memory still works at 68. It took me a bit of time, but I finally remembered Monroe's name :)
One of the most covered cowboy songs of all times. .....No one, but no One sings it like its original recording artist Vaughn Monroe........".i need a haircut,, the hairs on the back of my neck are standing up" , lol
This was my dad's favorite song and he loved VM doing it. I wish he was still alive to see this video.........thanks for sharing so others can enjoy it!!! ;-)
Vaughn was the real deal... Thanks for posting!
