No luck yet. Gave it to a friend of a friend who works with people that do this stuff, will find out soon what the situation is. keeping my fingers crossed.
were you able to replace the harddrive? I am looking to upgrade my 320 for a 1tb but cannot find any article to help me do this. I plug it in and it is not recognized. If it is too big then I figure there would be a list that says what works and what does not.
Google seagate freeagent pro remove enclosure there's an article. the hardest part is getting the pins you need a thin screwdiver or something similar and pry that sucker loose
I remember seagate hard drives being high quality but that was with drives from 1992-2003. At least the heads don't stick like Mini-scrib but then again modern hard drives won't live long enough to have lasted more than 20 years.
head stuck to platter or jammed spindle... usually if the first happens the data has been damaged. otherwise maybe trying to unjam it would work but usually the drive is done..
Hey guys, just pick a knife with a sharp end and unplug the four rubber dots that keeps the base firm on the ground. Beneath the dots, there are four screws that you have to quit, to open the base of the hard drive
Have you fixed the problem? I just experienced the same problem, except my macbook recognizes it. However, when I try to back it up, it just clicks like a heartbeat.
I have the same problem. I dropped me mine also and It is making a weird noise. It is not recognized by my computer. Have you find any solution yet? Let me know.
if the head is stuck, just hold it like a frisbee and flip it out like you are going to throw it, it will or, should, unstick the heads. do it forcefully though.
any luck in replacing the drive?

Its a jammed spindle, the platters i presume are fine. Just on a mission to find a place or a hookup that can get this fixed.
