Honestly despite Hollywood's tendency to fuck up movie-adapted-games, they've no excuse to fuck this up. The plot is simple, the characters are great but simple, the action is thrilling. The entire thing could easily be told within a 90 minute film. There's no concern about making a lot of characters or having a labrynthian plot to deal with. Hell there's even a wide range of actors that could play any role. Any director worth a shit would be able to pull this off.
Tom Selleck should play sully, bradley cooper should play Nate, the chick whos name i just forgot who played lucy for assassin's creed should be elena and every one else can go fuck themselves. seriously.

I think nate fillion would be perfect for the personalitty side of drake but not the physical. I personally think the guy from Bones/Angel is the guy. he not only looks the part, but has the personality and physicality to match, probably. Fillion wouldn't be bad, but wahlberg just doesn't have the charisma to pull it off. Sully is a good question. haven't thought too much about it but I'd really like James Caan as sully.

What value would Uncharted the movie bring to the Uncharted franchise that the games don't already have? What can Uncharted the movie do that can't be done in an Uncharted game? Let me just start by saying that I am a HUGE fan of Uncharted(honestly I am), but I know from, watching them, that a movie that is a spin-off of something, always gets screwed up in some way. I don't even think they should bother with a movie because Uncharted is like a movie, no sense in recreating it.
Every game now days is like a movie. Doesnt change the desire for fans and others alike to want to see it on the big screen. This gen needs their Indiana Jones and this is the perfect opportunity to do it. With the right direction they could do a good job with this. Although video game movie adaptations of the past suggest otherwise.
You can tell he hasn't got the slightest idea what he's talking about. He calls Nate, "the guy in the video game" before he remembers his name later on. All he's done is quickly glance at some gameplay and cutscenes on the internet.

How much fun can I get from sitting in a theatre doing absolutely nothing, just watching things on the screen .... compared to sitting in front of a screen, playing the game, playing something that is longer than a movie, getting involved in what happens, choosing the routes ... why do they not understand this?! Nolan North should be Nate, Emily Rose should be Elena, and Richard McGonagle should be Sully, no one else can make those characters as charming and likable as they are

I don't want the voice actors playing the physical roles of these characters on screen and I don't think they would necessarily be the right people for the job. It just isn't a good idea in my mind. Maybe cameo appearances in the background or something, but not main characters.

Bradley Cooper is the best bet. Nathan Fillion is a terrible choice. most of the people who want him haven't played the game, but just want him because they like him from firefly.

People that say they should use the voice actors from the actual game are dumb lol. I think Bradley Cooper is perfect as Drake because he's a good actor and he's a recognizable face in Hollywood which is always good to have those in your movies and I think Jennifer Aniston should be Elena for the same reasons.

Why don't they use all the voice actors from the actual games, they look so like and the voices would be exactly what we expect and r used to?! I mean these voice actors know the characters inside out by now?! Yea I'm sure there are other actors to fill these shoes but I dont see the point in fixing a chemistry that aint broke.

What value would Uncharted the movie bring to the Uncharted franchise that the games don't already have? What can Uncharted the movie do that can't be done in an Uncharted game? I asked myself that question and couldn't answer it and until someone can provide an answer I will remain opposed to this movie being made.

why are so many people saying this movie shouldnt happen? I am only guessing that when you say already being 'like a movie' is in reference to the detailed cutscenes. But that point is completely irrelevant. They could still form a new plot and give fans a chance to see some real life action that they have loved so much on the ps3. Nolan North might be a good choice, I just dont know his personality, but Fillions character in Castle perfectly portrays the witty un-effected persona of Drake.

Let me just start by saying that I am a HUGE fan of Uncharted(honestly I am), but I know from, watching them, that a movie that is a spin-off of something, always gets screwed up in some way. I don't even think they should bother with a movie because Uncharted is like a movie, no sense in recreating it.

Every game now days is like a movie. Doesnt change the desire for fans and others alike to want to see it on the big screen. This gen needs their Indiana Jones and this is the perfect opportunity to do it. With the right direction they could do a good job with this. Although video game movie adaptations of the past suggest otherwise.

@mamasboy462 Because man... you... you just don't. I can't explain why, but it doesn't seem right to me. I don't want the voice actors playing the physical roles of these characters on screen and I don't think they would necessarily be the right people for the job. It just isn't a good idea in my mind. Maybe cameo appearances in the background or something, but not main characters.

@mamasboy462 Thank you! someone else thinks the same! only thing is he's only a voice actor and not a movie actor so that's probably why they're not considering it. but tbh they should either not bother making the film coz uncharted's already like a movie, but if they really HAD to i don't understand why they don't just make it animated with better/the same tech they use in the games! That way Nolan North could remain as Nathan Drake! But personally, i think they're stupid for even bothering.
