@femsual the bag is so expensive because they are handmade by one person. It takes 18 hours minimum to make one. It's the same story with Chanel and such. You can buy bags that have the same style as popular bags. In France it is illegal to carry a fake. The Birkin is also so expensive because the hardware is real Gold and for silver its palladium. Hermes makes a 33% profit on all products.

@femsual the most costly aspect of hermes production is labour cost i.e it's made in france by people who are paid and not by 8 year old slaves with their feet nailed to the floor in a Thai slum believe me you would reconsider the purchase of a fake if you saw the absolute wretchedness that the people that make these bags live in, and while these children worked in the back, american and british tourists happily paid money at the front, continuing this cycle of absolute depravity. ignorant shits

The author didn't mention Grace because the interviewer didn't ask about Grace.

I loved his book, couldn't put it down! At the end of the day, he wasn't doing anything illegal and the concept is so simple - there are so many resellers out there making loads of $!
he's a fantastic storyteller! he could've been writing about a trip to a grocer's for a can of campbell soup and a broccoli and it would still sound like a great adventure.
i was skeptical at first but he's quite a fascinating character...and to think that of all people he's labeled a proletariat?! haha what a world it is...
