  • Ginger's got lipstick on her teeth!

  • God, I miss these people. I wish GSN would return What's My Line to it's programming. Ginger was so delightful.

  • At 3:28, Cerf: "Three hours ago, this perfidious wench put her arms around my neck ..." When was the last time anyone heard creative "ejaculations" (as Cerf himself would put it) like this on commercial TV? Not today or yesteryear ...

  • I always loved ginger. And Ms. Rogers too.

  • I've just discovered these old clips, how amazing to see all these old Hollywood stars !!

  • When Ginger Rogers won an Oscar for Kitty Foyle Fred Astaire sent her a telegram that said, "Ouch!"

A true movie star in all senses of the words.

  • I love this show i remember before all my families and friends was gathers in one house have a little party then watch this program

  • What year did the tv clip air please?

  • @c7i6abc 1954.

  • of all the what's my line clips I've watched- Ginger is having the best time.

  • Classy and cute at the same time...what a charmer!

  • Phyllis Fraser (Helen Brown Nichols) is Ginger's cousin and she married Bennett Cerf. Ginger helped her cousin get started in show biz. It's in her autobiography.

  • Such an underrated actress.

  • aww I love Ginger! This was hilarious, and she's such a classic actress, one of my favs.! Ginger, Marilyn and Rita <3

  • She seems like the kind of person who would be fun to hang with. Ginger is so talented.

  • @lizzyvance I agree with you that she was talented and down to earth. Would have loved to know her.

  • :D she is so adorable!

  • Ginger enjoyed life! She was entirely responsible for her own extraordinary career. She was unafraid to try anything, she battled hard for the best parts and the best films and the best pay! She had guts!

  • so cute the way she is cracking herself up :D

  • I was waitin 4 the 1st guy 2 apologize 4 the witch thing! XD LOL

  • I was 5 days old when this show aired...I love Ginger and Fred

  • i found out she died about a month before i was born

  • She was not only beautiful, talented and intelligent, but I think that she was also lots of fun. She was quite adorable. I love her!

  • these people were still big stars appearing on this program..youd never have this today....todays movie actors are too greedy

  • Putting that voice on must've hurt! Lol. Love this.

  • @LoveAnna13 YES!!!!! hehe

  • Haha that whistle in the begining! :) It reminded me of "What's my line" with Fred Astaire in 1955:) when somebody asked if man whistle at him when he walks down the street :)

Ginger is very charming and beautiful! And in pair with Fred they are my favorites!

  • She's so charming! :D I just love her voice. Bother her natural one, and the silly froggy one.

  • I can't believe he called her a glamour puss!

  • She danced into our lives with her talent with Fred Astaire, that has left a mark for future dancers to follow.

  • she was just cracking herself up with that voice lol

  • @ShawDAMAN It makes her so real!!!!!

  • What a beautiful talented lady.

  • Fred's pretty Ginger!Bless her heart! She was an AMERICAN CLASSIC!

  • she's amazing.

  • "We've been waiting for you for months." A small comment, made toward the end, which showed the respect the panel had for this wonderfully talented lady. Always watch the details.

  • A multi-talented lady..."a great gal" as Fred called her....and his lifelong friend. All this stuff about them hating each other was total b.s. Beside her sublime partnership with Fred, she made more than a few great individual dramatic and comedy films in the 30s and 40s...winning the Oscar in 1940. Her career declined in the late 40s, 50s, and 60s, though she was still able to rise to the occasion of a great script. She ended her career gracefully as the star of "Hello Dolly" and "Mame".

  • When I watch this show I think about what voice I would use to disguise my own.

  • yeah, I think it´s really hard

  • so what did you come up with?

  • @beeje HAH ME TOO

  • @beeje LOL- me too!

  • Such a beautiful lady. She dances to wonderful.

  • Oh, this was so much fun. I had never seen Ginger in an unscripted setting. What a beautiful, talented lady!! Thanks for posting this.

  • I love her facial expressions!

  • Is it sad that I would have recognized her from her disguised voice? Maybe I'm too obsessed.

  • Haha, I thought she sounded a lot like herself in that disguised voice too.

  • This is just a random observation, but does anyone else notice that Robert Q. Lewis' inflections sound sort of like Phil Hartman?

  • ..and eight months later I have three thumbs up, so I guess I'm not the only one who noticed that! LOL

  • Lord love our Ginger!

Who did everything Fred Astaire did, backwards and in high heels!

    LMBO!

  • haha!!! Aw, man, how can u help but laugh?! Oh, that was terrific!! Ginger was a great sport-and I've NEVER heard her talk like that-but it was great!!Lol. Thanks for posting this clip!

  • I thought she sounded more like a castrated frog, or perhaps a frog with a people in her throat. How was she related to Bennett Cerf's wife, I wonder?

  • Believe I read somewhere that they were cousins.

  • @crepehanger47 Yes Bennett Cerf's wife and Ginger Rogers are first cousins.

  • You are correct.

  • @crepehanger47 Cousins by marriage. She is Bennett's wife's cousin. They explain it in a later appearance by her.

  • @crepehanger47 Indeed, you are correct —Phyllis was born, Helen Brown Nichols; changing her name to Phyllis Fraser when she entered into a career as a movie actor...

  • @crepehanger47 yeah I think cousins.

  • Phyllis Cerf is Ginger's first cousin, and Bennet Cerf is her (Ginger's) cousin by marriage.

  • @PatinPDXOR well if you knew the show.. you have to disguise your voice so that someone doesn't immediately recognize you. but i don't know that many people know the show so no biggie. she was still just as lovely as ever here than she was for her dancing days. goodness how i love ginger rogers

  • @PatinPDXOR I must ask, when have you heard a castrated frog croak and...how did you happen to discover that it was castrated? ;)

  • @PatinPDXOR Bennett Cerf's wife was Ginger Roger's cousin.....Ginger made her into an actress

  • Hearing that voice come out of Ginger...hahahaha. It just made my day. :)

    Thank you for posting!!

  • i agree, it's hilarious!

  • She is so funny!

...sounds like a dying frog... lol

  • she's soo nice and beautiful!

  • Brilliant! Shes really unrecognizable with that voice :P

  • I had to look up what perfidious meant. (It means treacherous.)

  • "Perfidious wench" -- can't remember the last time I heard someone called a Perfidious wench on live TV.
