i have no problem with polygamy, if all parties consent without coercion. i personally couldn't live like that, but, to each their own.

betcha he never has to wash his own dishes or laundry. its amazing what lengths some men will go do to get out of housework...

I don't have any problems with polygamy IF it is only between consenting ADULTS and is not religiously based. Go ahead on and I might even join ya up the road. But, leave the kids alone and don't trap someone in it because you scare them into believing that "god" says it's the right thing to do.

Had you really not heard about this story until now? Good grief, it was plastered across the states for weeks on end when it first happened.

I have no problem with polygamists. If someone wants 100 wives or 100 husbands and the 100 all want the same thing. The problem comes in when they start marrying under-aged children who haven't had the life experiences necessary to make informed consent. But if all the wives or husbands are over 18 - who the fuck cares?

You need to carefully sort out the particulars of what the people did & how the state handled the case. Waco was a perfect example. Yes, there were a bunch of religious zealots camped out w/ a messload of guns. Still, the way the govt handled that situation was absolutely, totally 100% dead wrong. (See the movie "Rules of Engagement" if you don't believe me.) Be very careful of the powers you endorse giving the govt, since they will take that & always push the boundaries seeking more authority.
