LOL geeez louise...he runs into a crowd of like 8 guys and then all the sudden...BOOOM!! he comes sprintin out of it like "how the hell did he do THAT" he was fun to watch for sure.
@Ginga It was him and I was watching that game. Ray Lewis was heralded all world that year (that's why he left early). So yeah, Warrick Dunn sonned a lot of cats.
i gotta give a canes fan props for looking beyond the FSU/MIAMI war and recognizing talent.
dunn was that deal.
As a noles fan there are plenty of canes who were and still great. K2 was the one of the ones who made me realize this. kellen2 was a baller for the canes. i know he aint the only one.
i honestly dont have a beef with the canes and gators except for one week a year. who i really dislike is USC and ND!
Alotta that is good blocking but he did a good bit by himself. His speed allowed him to correct mistakes by the line; good RBs can do that. Homeboy was incredible.
Warrick Dunn - 2nd to none! Not only is he a great football player, he is an even better human being........gives back to the community and has over come many obsticles in his life.
Warrick was and is the man, but I think I've found a new Warrick . His name is Jacquizz Rodger and you wouldn't believe the vision, power, and strength this guy has.
U did a great job for Florida State,Bucs and my favorite hometown football team, the Atlanta Falcons. Thank You for sharing a part of my life with u when u played for the ATL. Ur book is one of the best books I ever read.
Everyone who goes to FSU says he runs the show. He calls the shots. Not jimbo or Mickey Andrews. And Jimbo did have a nice Offense in LSU. You should know.
Everyone thats been at FSU and acualy knows anything at all. Knows Bobby handed over most head coaching over to Jimbo. Bobby was forced to name a succesor and hes now nothing more than a figure head. Hes not what he used to be face it.
I would say he's a figure head but his presence is still felt. Bobby may not be what he used to but he's still one of the greatest coaches of all time. And even you have to admit that.
Bobby has a legacy no one can match. He used to set the standard for NCAA greatness. However after 2001 we have gone down and down. Hes fallen down a slippery slope with letting players getting into trouble and doing nothing. He's been bad at recruiting. Hes getting old hes no longer what he was. He turned FSU around from one of the longest losing streaks to a top NCAA competitor. Then he made us two time champions and got us close several times. Hes just old now and lost it.
Well that happens in college football. Teams go on slides. Tennessee, Michigan, Miami, etc. its just not right though to blame it on the man who put us where we are. Should Bobby get some of the blame? Hell yes, he's the head coach but right now Jimbo is slowly but surely gaining power and we had the best season in 3 years and a top 10 recruiting class. I'd say thing look bright.
Yeah, I really think we would be in the top ten all the time like we used to if it wasnt for bobby putting his son as our Offensive coordinator. He ran our offense into the ground and destroyed our run game while we had a weak pass game with Rix. Then because we had poor offense we had poor recruiting and got Weatherford who was pretty crappy. Now Jimbo did impress me this season more than i expected. However Bobby still gets credit when Jimbo is the one doing most of the work.
Thats true. And considering how little talent Jimbo had to begin with and he has already improved our running game dramatically. Now all we need id Ponder to step it up and we could have a top 10 team for sure.
He has helped alot. A weakness at FSU the last few seasons has been the offensive line. Now even the media who hates FSU is saying we will have one of the best O-lines in the country. He's also quick to let a player know when he's made a mistake. As much as I like Bobby you never saw him explode and get in a players face. It looks like the new coaching staff is alot better in letting a player know when he screws up and to make sure it does't happen again. And that's key to having a winning team.
The interesting thing about Warrick Dunn is that the quarterback of the team seems to do better with him in the backfield...I also love his blocking ability...the Falcons would have had more sacs had it not been for Warrick Dunn
Warrick Dunn was lightning fast and sneaky strong. For 5'9 180lbs he played like a gotdamn wild man. There will never be another little back like him.
He didnt win the Heisman because we limited him to 15 or so touches a game unless it was a big game so he didnt get worn down. He never had great total yards or TDs, but he had a great YPC every year and I dont think many people doubt he was one of the best players in the country his soph, jr and sr years. Great vid.
Charlie Ward took the Heisman when Dunn was a Freshman. However Ward acted as a mentor and big brother to Dunn that year since Dunn had lost his mother (whom was a police officer) in the line of duty. They became best friends and room mates at FSU. I would have loved to see Dunn and Ward play together a couple full seasons. I'd bet good money those two would have been the best QB/HB option play duo ever.
I'd love to seen Warrick Dunn come back and do some coaching at FSU. Although, I'm fairly happy about having Dexter Carter as our RB coach as well as Lawrence Dawsey as our Receivers coach. Two former Nole greats retired from NFL and came back to coach a program that gave them their fame.
Yea, I would love to have Brooks and Dunn as part of the staff in some way after they retire. They could be amazing as part of the recruiting team too and could just dominate the Tampa area in terms of getting HS tallent out of there to go to FSU.
PLEEEEZZZZ POST PETER WARRICK HIGHLIGHTS PLEEEEZZZZZ!!!!!! I love warrick dunn, but peter warrick was hot when i was a teen so i could relate to him better......but i still love this vid man...

1:13 - HA! Ray Lewis and that weak arm tackle!
1:17 - #94 "The ROCK" can't keep up!
Love the throwback vids.
LOL @ Thad Busby and Danny Kannell being the QB's during most of these highlights!
Dunn wasn't the fastest with PURE BLOW AWAY speed, but he definitely had that pep in his step, where 3 yards was enough to wave "BYE-BYE!"
