  • At the beggining at 3:05 when you put the command - Console.Readkey ();

You can also use Console.Realine (); to do the same thing.

  • @rudyeilabouni Yea but Readline will keep reading until the enter key is pressed. ReadKey will wait until one key gets pressed

  • @basiccomputerhelp oh!

    I never knew that! Thanks!

I am still a very big noob at C# I learned 1 lesson in school only...

But even though when I came home I read a little and watched some videos and programmed 6 programs! including one that converts Fahrenheit to Celsius...

Its not much I know but for a noob I think its good :D

  • @rudyeilabouni That is good.

Also if your school had a older version of Visual Studio then they would not have a Console.ReadKey() so they would have had to use a ReadLine Command.

  • @basiccomputerhelp They have 2008 edition...

and today I had 3 lessons and in all 3 I kept using the Readkey Command since its better...

  • ALso make some videos that tell about WPF app. NICE vid man how old are you?I am 12 and i know all this!but still the best and greatest vid man!

  • thank you! i have to admit to not knowing much on WPF as my jobs are not in programming, i do this more as a hobby. I am 24 years old.

  • Very good tutorial. Thanks

  • thank you

  • Lol this is just a piece of cake.

  • Stop breathing, or stay away from the mic. Any way thanks for big help :)

  • your welcome. and this was one of my earlier videos my newer videos are now made better, been thinking about redoing this video

  • thanks!

  • Dude, you need to move the mic away from your mouth. It is really annoying listening to you breathe.

    Good Video.

  • yes thank you. this is the only one so far with that breathing in it i am sorry about that

  • I made a more expanded "amount of cookies" version of this... but, i put this if statement here but it wants a variable, but I already gave the variable... really strange

  • how did your if statement look in c# you need to use == (yes that is two) otherwise it can not convert in c# if uses bool variables to test and if you are from c/c++ then you are use to integers working.

  • I did this and it said this'System.Console' does not contain a definition for 'Writeline' now obviously the error is in the console.writeline couse its underlined red... help?

  • fixed it... man this is REALLY CaSe sensitive...

  • yes extremely case sensitive. most people who come from a Visual Basic background have that problem.

  • oh ... ok, good response time aswell

  • yes i thought the same thing in 2003 when i first read about C#. and my response time is good when youtube tells me that i got a comment

  • why do people call this a sharp # its a hash

  • Microsoft calls it C Sharp and they made the language. also i think that it is more related to music where the sharp raises the pitch of a note by one semitone.

  • Awsome video, please upload some more C# programs. And on SharpDevelop

  • i am working on it just ran into Timing problems with the later releases. but i think i have worked them out. also all programs that i show should also work for SharpDevelop, the Command Line sections sould also work on mono.

  • good tutorial!

  • Thank you

  • have u just been for a 15 mile run or somthing such heavy breathen

  • no my problem was my mic was set to high and was to close to my mouth and it can pick up every thing. and i think on the day i shot this i had bronchitis. i had that for a few week and it was bad.

  • What About Help I Ask Below Will You Cover That ?

  • Yes i will i am hopeing in the third video i will have if's and loops covered and in the forth will be functions and the fith will be classes. and classes will (or should) cover try-catch statments

  • Well Okay,I Know This Part Part I Am Looking Forward In Variables Int Convert,Others

Currently If You Can Teach Me With This Will Do Great.

    foreach < when use it

    try

    catch

    when use private and public

    will seriously help me alot

  • Working on Variables now Should have it up by tomarrow

  • Hey,Just A Quick Question,I Have No Programming Knowledge Nothing,Only Know About Basic Computer,It Would Good If You Teach Us C# By Ur Videos,Explain Each Function When Use It Will Do All Newbie Greats

  • i am going to do it. Right now i am limited by time on video's by youtube. This is a hello world program and the purpose of a hello world program is just to get you familiar with the way program code looks. That way in future lessons you do not get confused by the format alone. What was suppose to be my next video has been shot but is over 20 mins long so i am going to break it up and remake the video with smaller lessons. It only means that i will have more video's buy the end.

  • another question, is the express edition fully free? i think at one time i downloaded it or a similar program and it was a 30-day trial

  • o yes i forgot to say that it is free but you must register it and they will e-mail you the Key.

  • yes but These video's are intended for those new to programing

  • i look forward to more tutorials like this, programming always interested me

  • I have decided that on my other channel i will be making a C++/CLI tutorial prereq is you need to know C++. My next video is on Variables and program flow control. It is times like this that i wish i could make videos longer than 10 mins because in later videos they will have to be longer. i will just have to make do for now.
