I was trying and using salvia many years ago (around 2000-2001) and it literally does almost nothing. Anyone saying otherwise is absolutely lying. @Takiado Quick correction here, Marijuana is classified as a intoxicant, Stimulant, Psychedelic, and a Depressant. Some people have quite powerful psychedelic effects from it and some even are quite stimulated by it, check out erowid.org for correct info about almost every drug.

Of course nothing is 100% pure and it can over time damage your body and brain, for ex. psychosis and lung damage from smoking. I don't know much about Salvia and if Salvia even can trigger Psychosis but it doesn't sound fully impossible to me. But everything we do in life there is a risk to it.

It's best to chew a quid in a dark setting. A sitter can be present if using extracts. The videos of people abusing it aren't worth studying because they are purposely using extremely high potency extracts and purposely giving themselves a bad trip.
