This song makes me think about playing in a band at the beach at night and then I fuck all of the girls. Then I shoot everyone at the bar and then I shoot myself. I love this song !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Kabul81...very true. However, radio stations wouldn't play the longer versions and therefore for the song to get any airplay and sell off the record shelves they had to edit them down.
LOOOOOVED this song when I was in high school (circa 1983) and it still holds up - if it came out on the radio tomorrow it would STILL be a top 40 hit! Glad The Tubes did it - totally could not hear Toto having done this song.
i do agree and this is the original. co-written and produced by music genius Davis Foster. Who'd a thunk it, way back in 81. the whole album has good grooves all the way around. Sushi Girl was really popular as well as I recall. primo group the TUBES.
What's even cooler is that when you lift this promo copy up into the light it has a distinct green tint but looks normal on the turntable. I have several of these colored tint copies from the 80s. All of them happen to be on promo labels.
How many people have I wanted to say this to? A sign of their stupidity and my weakness.

They use to play the long versions years ago, called the LP version when they needed a long break. That was before they had music on reel to reel.
