@RealCadde Not sure about the Canadian Constitution, but in the USA a police officer REQUIRES reasonable suspicion that you have or are about to commit a crime to demand ID. This of course does not apply if you are driving a motor vehicle. You are then required to show a drivers license. Not showing ID usually gets a "Contempt of Cop" arrest. Normally the charges are dropped. Unless we start suing municipalities, the cop behavior will continue. The cop does not care.

Instead of grabbing his phone, he asks him to hang up, instead of grabbing his hands, he asks him to place them on the squad car. There was professionalism on BOTH sides. Kudos to the citizen for not making things worse. In my experience, these charges are dropped once at the station and a mutual understanding is made.
