@yorrickwi No I'm not trolling. It's really a deleted scene. If you see my other video that I uploaded(not the BTTF teaser) you'll hear the commentary of this scene by Bob Gale, the co-writer and co-producer of the Back to the Future trilogy.
@03bgood Because this is how it was shot in 1984/1985. If it was seen during the dinner scene at Lorraine's house, they would have made it, somehow, look black and white.
@Draknfyre Yes they could have changed the colour of the tv to black and white but I don't know how they did it exactly adn whether it could be done in the 80's. According to the commentary by Bob Gale and Neil Canton, the tinge of the tv set when Doc is seeing himself on tape and is caught by Marty(AFTER THE SKATEBOARD SCENE), is sepia instead of a blue tinge. So they might not have just turned the colour of the tv to black and white. They might have used something else.
You are watching a movie where the special effects show a car going back in time, and you wonder if they could change a color image to black and white? That ability has been around since the time video editing was created. Hell, you could do it with the Atari 2600 (which came out in the 70's) by flipping a switch.
@Draknfyre I'm sorry then.I was being stupid. I just thought that maybe it wasn't possible in the 80's. I am 18 years old so and ofcourse I wasn't alive during the 80's. Anyway they still might have used filters instead of just turning the video to b&w
@Draknfyre Actually in the commentary Gale said that they put a modern day tv in an old tv shell and then treated the video to look like black and white. He oesn't say how.
It's funny because tobacco companies really used to pay doctors buckets of money to endorse their cancer sticks. Wait... actually... that's not funny at all.
@darrellkaiser11285 It can only be found if you open the dvd and see the vob file which contains the deleted scenes.at least that's what i have done.No I don't think they put it on the blu ray.
@jontematis Yeah I think there is an audio commentary for this but I just converted the .vob file to wmv, so the commentary couldn't be heard. Currently I am a little busy(school:( ) and it takes a lot of time on my computer to convert the video...but when I have some time a might upload the vid with commentary .
why the cookie crisp would they put a cigarette ad in Back to the Future?! When I saw this in a BTTF Ad for the relese and i saw the doctor and the operating room and i said "OMG?! Who needed surgery?!? Plz tell me it wuzn't Doc!!!!!" So where did they put it in the film?
@IndianaJonesfans09 No it wasn't Doc."Marty,Mcfly6671" is right. It was just a cigarette commercial that (probably) was going to be shown on TV while Marty was at his grandparents house(after the car accident).
FUCK YOU !!!!!!!!

You mean like showing it on an actual black and white TV? Changing color video to black and white isn't hard, you know.
