  • Watch his eyes; he's reading a monitor.

  • If this is a concern for you then just open Chrome and go to > Options - Basics and deselect > Enable Instant for faster searching and browsing. Nothing will be sent to Google! I've tested this using the same software method used in this video. It's a feature designed to speed up your searching and browsing and is one of the reasons Chrome is faster than IE! Hope this helps? 8-)

  • I seriously could not imagine chrome will fade away my trust on google ...like this

  • This video proofs one thing, regular users dont give a fuck about privacy.

  • I know this a joke but I feel like ranting on IE

    1. Really really slow

    2. Toolbars, way too many, it takes up half the screen. If I try to remove some, the settings dont save and I have to do that same thing next time.

    3. It uses bing -.-

    4. separate address and search bar

  • Lol at the people who are believing this crap.

  • I use IE in everything I can trusth IE but Chrome what was that? Secutity first

  • After all that time, I think I'm finnaly going back to Internet Explorer (9 beta). Goodbye Firefox, it was nice meeting you. And Chrome just sucked...

  • C'mon guys. CIA, Mossad and other datamarts have been tracking your packets, posts, times and places of login, keywords, cell phone location, calls and moods even since decades already. What's the use of protecting data in your (crappy) browser, in the compromised OS and network? If you need privacy - just securely log into a remote random virgin machine from a random terminal, do your business, and restore its state after the session.

Or do not use electronics at all.

    A-tracked poster

  • IE is slow and buggy.

I use Firefox and Chrome. Firefox seems to be more secure for me, chrome is just...faster and more comfortable for browsing.

  • 0:50 "Separation of Address Bad and Search Bar"

Unn, doesn't IE9 have a omnibox like Chrome? So typical of MS:

1-make our outdated software look good because it is outdated

2-When steps 1 fails (which will) upgrade.

This is just like their "Algorithm meet Humanity" campaign in 2006.

  • @HerrBismarck By default, IE9 doesn't send any suggestions to your selected search provider. The user has to enable search suggestions in order for data to be sent.

  • 0:06 NERD ALERT!

  • Thumbs up if you use Firefox, Safari, Opera or Chrome.

    IE sucks.

  • I kinda see where they are getting at and its kinda makes me cautious but it doesn't necessarily mean google is stealing your info. Given that the original video was deleted a day after it was released, it was probably made by workers without permission from higher ups. If you are seriously scared, chromium is open source, just make your own version that doesnt send stuff to google.

  • Windows is not all that bad, but microsoft thinks that just because they are high and mighty they can deny the web standards and shove some kind of makeshift shit down our throats. I have to say that Google Chrome is an amazing browser, even if they log my searches; who cares? It's not like they'd be abel to identify me on the streets with it..

  • Mozilla.*com

  • Subtitles made by a Chinese?

  • Tómala .. fuerte golpe contra Google _.__

  • microsoft has never officially refused the rumours of sharing information with cia. and if you're online, nothing is secured.

  • Microsoft can't even manage to release an April Fool's joke on April 1st.

  • what a dork. bet this guy uses chrome or ffox. want ppl to use ie? just make it usable...

  • i need another video explaining what i'm meant to be worried about.

  • Instead of talking shitty about other products, try making your products better, dear Microsoft.

  • you're backed by microsoft. The other big brother.

  • Internet Explorer, windows, microsoft - sucks.

  • See what happens when you start typing something into the SEARCH bar.

  • IE is gay

  • Excuse me, but what Microsoft do!? Also steals your privacy throughout Windows, forcing you to have Windows for games, instead of using DX as OpenSource, voting "yes" for DRM and other "not-so-private-are-you-now-online-must-be-all-the-times" protections......... so?

But they are right about Google, not chrome. See youtube and their WMG policy?

  • Watch this video on TEXTp... while you still can!

Just select it on the right of the volume control.

  • And.... if I search in google, they are gonna see what I view anyway.

IE and security ahahaha it's one of the most insecure browsers.

  • IE sucks

  • @pixelr0 yeah IE sucks but chrome is rock!

Chrome is faster than IE and better than IE.

  • Firstly, while comparing Google Chrome and Internet Explorer, try finding some differences. Chrome's address bar is an all-in-one so that means it downloads Google Search Suggestions while typing. Internet Explorer does the same thing, when you type in its search bar with Google as the default search engine. Secondly, every browser has a privacy-enhanced mode. IE8: InPrivate Browsing, Chrome: Incognito Mode, Firefox 3.6: Private Browsing, Opera 10.5: Private Tab, etc. This doesn't prove anything

  • IE sucks, worst browser out there

  • google does love to watch people do on the internet. but well microsoft will probebly steal more data from you than crome does. also Ohh browser and search box.

  • This is an aprill joke right???

  • their just jealous google survived the hackathon. IE is the most unprivate browser b/c its widely used and literally every version has been hacked. Same goes for the OS.

  • This is the biggest load of nonsense I've seen in ages. Why would you care that Google can see what you type into the address bar if you're doing to search for it anyway? And isn't this functionality exactly the same as the Search box in Internet Explorer? Your argument makes no sense. You even fail to mention Google's Incognito browsing mode.

It's not surprising that links to the TechNet video are throwing up 'errors' now - I'd be embarrassed to show this as well. fail fail fail
