I finally figured out what bugs me when I listen to this song. The timing of the words and the background music don't match up at all, and it leaves some parts sounding awkward.

That being said, I still love the song. I could easily believe that voice belonging to Ditzy, and the lyrics are very uplifting.

I know the storybords have her cutiemark in there, but I imagine, this would be the "How I got my cutiemark" story for Derpy. I always imagined that she didn't find her special talent as a filly, unlike most other young Ponies. And because of her eyes, and her reaching Adulthood, other Ponies made fun of her and called her a talentless stupid Pony. I think she got her cutiemark not because she found her talent, but because she found a place where she felt she belonged.

Very good song, and the drawings are charming. I could see this being used in an episode, which I suppose is the best compliment I could give. As much as I love to think of Derpy as a cheerful oddball who isn't affected by others' insults or snarky comments, I do think she would have gone through a period like this as an adolescent.
