The Roush was a great car, very sexy, and could run with the LT1s all day long. Vettes just hold value better. That will never change.

C5 base 346hp with a intake will NOT make 381 rwhp. Flywheel, maybe.Here's the funny part. The Cobra will bring maybe 15k-18k resale in MINT condition. That Vette will still bring 30K-38K. I think when it's all said and done, the Vette wins in the end.

The best I have done is 23999.00 and it has an accident on its Carfax. I can pick up many Cobra's all day long for 5k - 15k. My Friend just sold his white 2000 Cobra for 5600.00 and thats a fact.
@GetsumJ I was on Craigslist that c5 z I found was moths ago. Here in St Louis people want 6 grand and more just for 99 gt's . You can get ls1 that are alot faster for the same price. I really want a gt but If there are ls1 cars for the same price im gonna buy one of them . Now a 99 or 01 cobra would easily be 8,000+ so are some ls1 cars. Believe it or not i found a guy on here that got his c5 z for 11,000 , i think it was an 01 but they are just as good , swap the cam.
@IDontHateOnCars also, Craigs list is not the best place to research cars. I have purchased my past 4 used cars on the wholesale market. I paid 14k for a 29k Jag (Kelly), I paid 9k for a 21k 4x4 Blazer with 6000 miles. And I stole my 85 IROC for 4k with a brand new dealer installed crate engine. I don't debate the fact that you can find both Cobras and Vettes for a good price. I am just saying I do this on a weekly basis. And a Z06 for under 25 is a rare find.
@Texarmageddon I agree, C6/ Z06 for under 25k would be a steal. I have my eye on a C5-Z06 with 36000 miles for 22400.00 in Dallas. The guy tried a do-it-yourself interior mod that looks like crap. That's leads me to believe that he probably dogged the car. I also found a C5 Lingy in PA with 28k for 36000.00. Clean car.

comin from a chevy guy.... the stang does hold it's own against a vette. for the price range the performance is pretty good. but i'm not sure on the cost of an SVT Cobra. at the same time, the vette isn't running any type of forced induction. but still puts down more power with a bigger motor... good run. i dont even like stangs. lol. but a sik car is a sik car regardless...

@1017coolbeans That's understandable. They're easier to maintain and alot of times cheaper to mod. Example being camming both engines. Over $1000 for the Modular 4v (because you need 4 cams lol), and less than the $300 probably for the LS. To be honest I think they are both great motors. Although I am partial to the Modular 4v, considering I own an 04 Cobra lol.

The cobra is the faster car, you can see that in the 4th and 5th race, but the guy in the cobra can't drive to save his fucking life. He's bouncing off the rev limiter like he can't hear it in the first few races. FAsnakes can drive, I've seen his other races, I'd like to see these guys switch cars.
mustangs are just gay, My H/C/I LT1 with 360WHP blows the doors off cobras. i have raced a few LS3 vetts too and won. ford just cant make the cars move like chevy. for you guys that think the vett has more power than listed you just havent drove an LS style car, they are crazy fast.

The cobra pull on the vette several times with the account of one where the cobra missed a gear. but the vette pulled when the camera was in the stang. Point it if you follow FAsnakes then you would all see that they own both cars.

How does a 450rwhp cobra not beat on a 380rwhp vette? I understand that weight difference and aerodynamics but I just dont know. Props to the vette. I have an SS Camaro with 387rwhp but the extra weight over the vette is what would get me killed vs the cobra.

uhh, The Shadrach edition is 900hp, and has a tested 0-60 between 2.8 and 3.1 and due to the aerodynamics cannot go any faster than 200 mph. the lingenfelter 0-60 is 1.79 and can hit 245mph. not to mention its only 8,000 dollers more than the Shadrach mustang too. YOU LOSE
The lingenfelter vette is a mad beast, but it can be beat. Have you seen the (Kenney Bell) cobra video titled snakebite? I wouldn't be surprised if he could give the mightiest of the vettes a hell of a good run.
btw...that cobra is a nice piece, but however i am pretty sure that video is sped up in spots. Badass car however...but for the time and money you still only have a mustang than can keep up with a stock vette
Most guys who buy cobra's(NOTICE I SAID MOST GUYS) want them to have a toy to play around with. Those cars stock put down the best hp ratings out of most cars rated higher than it. And was probably one of the best cars Ford SVT ever created! The corvette is much lighter htan the cobra. Yet the cobra had the same 1/4 mile time as the vette did that same year as the cobra was made! Wow seems like Ford did a great job. Give them props you know they made something beautiful!
@Chad302beast the svt was slightly quicker than the stock vette in 03 the z06 was almost 2 sec faster in the 1/4 and 1.2 sec faster to 60... i wouldn't want that cobra as a "toy" the cobra has been and always will be and over weight non handling over priced pile of crap.. just get the regular mustang that way no one will expect anything from you...
@Chad302beast You must be talkin about the Reg c5 coupe the cobra was actually faster in the quarter but it would still catch back up. The 02 zo6 did 0-60 in 4.0 and the 03 cobra did 0-60 in 4.5, I know this from car and driver video's . Bid difference in times though
@Chad302beast How do you figure? 390HP Cobra vs 350HP Base model Vette? They did a great job? Cobra gets beat by the Z06 of the same year, Cobra runs with the Base model. I will say the Cobras are pretty sweet but they had to jack the HP just to keep up... That's not the way to do it... If they really made something "Beautiful" the 390 HP Cobra would have been able to run mid 12's stock... Most Cobras run 13's stock... Great car with great potential but a little overrated stock.... IMO

Ford GTX-1 750RWHP, I think it could beat the Enzo but have never seen them heads up. I have seen the Ford GT and the Enzo heads up and the Enzo wins but i think the extra 150 HP is enough to take an Enzo. Looking forward to see what the Z07 can do. Suppose to be a contender for all the high end cars(911 Turbo, etc). I like ford more than Chevy, but in the end as long as its domestic i like it.

From a dig, the cobra should have the win. It has a shorter stroke and more torque, so faster revving engine. The big engine the vette is better up top.
The Cobra either missed a shift/let off in the first few races, or the vette is hiding a bottle.
Bro it's a all but stock Vette against a tuned Stang. and by all acounts the Vette walked the Stang when the Stang didn't jump the horn. A built drag Cobra runs 9.95 @ 135.30 on 15" drag tires. A 2000 Ford Mustang Cobra R turns 12.88 @ 112.77 the 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 turns 12.56 @ 115.59. A stock 06' Z06 turns 10.85 @ 129.50 on drag radials, the same Vette on street tires turned 11.22 @ 127.16. The Vette will always win.

The Vette is a 2 seater made entirely of fiber glass come on be fair lol I love the cobra with some weight reduction & a few more mods it will beat a vette but like the guy below me said the vette is built aerodynamic & the gearing Plus look at the almost 25-30k price difference of the cars it better be faster for wat youre paying for it. its in comparison to bringing out a ford GT against a camaro SS guess wats gonna happen thats right boys & girls you guessed it

the whole video was bias. For the fact is watch the way the race goes when the camera is in the opposite car. The cobra pull on the vette several times with the account of one where the cobra missed a gear. but the vette pulled when the camera was in the stang. Point it if you follow FAsnakes then you would all see that they own both cars.

How does a 450rwhp cobra not beat on a 380rwhp vette? I understand that weight difference and aerodynamics but I just dont know. Props to the vette. I have an SS Camaro with 387rwhp but the extra weight over the vette is what would get me killed vs the cobra.

uhh, The Shadrach edition is 900hp, and has a tested 0-60 between 2.8 and 3.1 and due to the aerodynamics cannot go any faster than 200 mph. the lingenfelter 0-60 is 1.79 and can hit 245mph. not to mention its only 8,000 dollers more than the Shadrach mustang too. YOU LOSE

Most guys who buy cobra's(NOTICE I SAID MOST GUYS) want them to have a toy to play around with. Those cars stock put down the best hp ratings out of most cars rated higher than it. And was probably one of the best cars Ford SVT ever created! The corvette is much lighter htan the cobra. Yet the cobra had the same 1/4 mile time as the vette did that same year as the cobra was made! Wow seems like Ford did a great job. Give them props you know they made something beautiful!

@Chad302beast the svt was slightly quicker than the stock vette in 03 the z06 was almost 2 sec faster in the 1/4 and 1.2 sec faster to 60... i wouldn't want that cobra as a "toy" the cobra has been and always will be and over weight non handling over priced pile of crap.. just get the regular mustang that way no one will expect anything from you...

@Chad302beast You must be talkin about the Reg c5 coupe the cobra was actually faster in the quarter but it would still catch back up. The 02 zo6 did 0-60 in 4.0 and the 03 cobra did 0-60 in 4.5, I know this from car and driver video's . Bid difference in times though

@Chad302beast How do you figure? 390HP Cobra vs 350HP Base model Vette? They did a great job? Cobra gets beat by the Z06 of the same year, Cobra runs with the Base model. I will say the Cobras are pretty sweet but they had to jack the HP just to keep up... That's not the way to do it... If they really made something "Beautiful" the 390 HP Cobra would have been able to run mid 12's stock... Most Cobras run 13's stock... Great car with great potential but a little overrated stock.... IMO

Man...those cars are fucking sick. I have an 04 cobra and I've raced the C6Z06 and got my ass handed to me. lol Those cars are no contest for the cobras. I love my car and wouldn't trade her for the world...but I would never be dumb enough to compare them to a Z06. The only way our cars can beat a Z is with a kb or whipple. If ur runnin the stock eaton then forget it. Either way, they're both great cars and deserve all the respect they can get.

Ford GTX-1 750RWHP, I think it could beat the Enzo but have never seen them heads up. I have seen the Ford GT and the Enzo heads up and the Enzo wins but i think the extra 150 HP is enough to take an Enzo. Looking forward to see what the Z07 can do. Suppose to be a contender for all the high end cars(911 Turbo, etc). I like ford more than Chevy, but in the end as long as its domestic i like it.

From a dig, the cobra should have the win. It has a shorter stroke and more torque, so faster revving engine. The big engine the vette is better up top.
The Cobra either missed a shift/let off in the first few races, or the vette is hiding a bottle.

Bro it's a all but stock Vette against a tuned Stang. and by all acounts the Vette walked the Stang when the Stang didn't jump the horn. A built drag Cobra runs 9.95 @ 135.30 on 15" drag tires. A 2000 Ford Mustang Cobra R turns 12.88 @ 112.77 the 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 turns 12.56 @ 115.59. A stock 06' Z06 turns 10.85 @ 129.50 on drag radials, the same Vette on street tires turned 11.22 @ 127.16. The Vette will always win.

Yeah, but it is not a Z06, it is a slightly bolton regular C6. The Cobra may be a few hundred pounds heavier, but it also has almost 100rwhp/100rwtq to make up for it. I still stand by my judgement of either bad Cobra driver or extra mods on vette.

I Know straight line racing proves nothing for a street car (On the 1/8 and 1/4 the Vette also walks the little pony), the true test is track racing. The Vette's record speaks for itself. Stang are to light in the rear and spin way to much, the steering is like driveing a radio flyer wagon and the gearbox sucks.
