radio fuckin' sucks, especially here in the u.s. , that's why i pay for satellite radio. i was dead set against paying for radio, but to be able to hear bands like these on stations like "hair nation" and the "boneyard" and to never hear fuckin' justin bieber or lady gaga is soooooooooo worth it!! metal forever!!

And coming back to your question it depends what you by "underrated" cause in my opinion there are very few AOR bands which are, at least - generally known. One of the most famous is Harem Scarem but even they are not so famous in WHOLE music world, especially nowadays when people listen mainly to stuff that is played in the radio. It's sad but true. So... you know - even Scarem might be considered as underrated cause all in all minority of "musical society" knows them.

I agree with "Seven Seas" by Steelhouse Lane. This absolutely kicks ass!! Although I love bands like Scarem, Signal, Boulevard or Aviator I think that MODERN AOR rules too!!

oh and also Romeo's Daughter, even though they might not exactly be hard rock. "Wild Child," "Don't Break My Heart," and "Heaven in the Backseat" are awesome underrated 80s melodic rock songs, especially in terms of production.

this is easily the cheesiest kind of music o all time. that being said, maybe tobruk ("wild on the run") and stage dolls ("love cries") should be on this list.

dude... you are so right... they are underrated!! first of all TYKETTO... I didn't grow up in this generation - I was born in '87, but I encountered them accidental and now I am a big fan of tyketto & danny vaughn... I also bought a lot of CDs of pink cream 69, steelhouse lane, steelheart and firehouse... these bands are so awesome!! unfortunately they are so underrated!!

great bands,but Tyketto and Alias are not that underrated.Especially Firehouse had really huge success.Got all their albums.Harem Scarem were underrated.

I absolutely LOVE melodic hard rock/metal. Even though I'm more into ballads and soft rock. Melodic rock brings out in the music what guitars can really do. Straight metal/some rock just bore me...

TYKETTO, CRYSTAL BALL, WIG WAM and FAIR WARNING ,but never have seen them beat escutei.
