That´s because in the first movie they wanted to make a lot of money by showing a new sensational way to transform into a werewolf where in the sequels they only want to "milk the cow untill it is dry".

@WerewolfUlrich Rob Bottin did the effects for the first one, and the sequels were done by others, who were told to make the werewolves look different...In this case they were changing into a marsupial dog , which is very unlike a wolf .
