  • you need fats to convert beta-carotene into vitamin A, so although carrots and sweet potatoes have the potential to give u vitamin A unless you r consuming fats with these foods with essential fats the beta carotene will not convert into precious vitamin A, which is why she said it was hard to get. Do whats best for u, we aren't all the same, but what we can all agree on is that a high living raw food diet is optimal for great health.

  • The statement here by Schenck sums up the quality of all her evidence and what she has to say about anything: "another person who knew some insider said...". How totally ridiculous is that? Can anyone take seriously anything she has to say? That's what serves as "evidence" for her. That and Nazi medical experiments in the 1930s. I guess you can write and say whatever you want and there'll be a bunch of indiscriminating nonthinkers (aka "fools") who will give you money for garbage! Amazing!

  • we have no idea whatSOEVER if what Susan heard about radiation is true or not. i dont think its great to talk about stuff you have no idea if its true or not, IF at the very least you dont emphasize this..............

  • This lady is clearly a moron, vitamin A hard to get? eat a freaking sweet potato and you have 3 days worth per serving. not to mention carrots have tons as well. Her super food thing was mostly helpful but kind of a duh moment for the most part. I think it was nice to hear this, she gives me alot to research but she herself sounds like a complete fool.

  • @natemorey

Nah, she's totally on the money dude. Don't drink the kool aid, ffs.

  • @musicman02 I wont and dont drink kool aid but i said nothing about it mr random.

  • @natemorey

'Don't drink the kool aid' refers to the members of that clandestine cult that drank poison Kool Aid, just because their leader told them to.

Eggs are great food. End of story. Of course, living without veges, to me sounds like a fate worse than death. But Eggs are a more potent source of protein than ANY vegetable.

    So why not eat both?

  • @musicman02 forgive me iv'e never heard the joke before. but don't worry im not mindlessly following anyone, obviously as I was just pointing out many things i disagree with but whatever. Eggs have a lot of protein I agree 100% just as an iron bar would be a great source of Iron, but that doesn't mean I would eat it.. Eggs come with a bit too much bad cholesterol for my taste. You should look up Protein poisoning by the way, odds are your getting more then you want with meats and eggs.

  • Ok. Let me start by saying im not vegan. But I have weaned myself of red meat. But what i got from this interview and some of the comment from my perspective it this.. Is with all the unhealthy/obese people in this country we should focus on getting the people healthy. Then we can debate about eating meat or not, lets wean people onto healthier choices of eating foods they commonly eat, then try to ease them into a vegetarian / vegan diet.

  • I can honestly say i don't miss eating meat since i have chicken and fish. i would like to eventually stop eating chicken and just eat fish a few times week. Point being starting slowly may work better for some than just one day deciding to never eat meat. Another thing I did is try to find replacements for dairy (almond milk : super cheap to make). Hopes this helps. PS. Stop being so critical of people that eat meat.

  • Yes eat real food and eat locally grown food. Or really, GROW YOUR OWN FOOD!

  • interesting interview... thanks Kevin!

the biggest health risk is stress... so don't stress, just eat well and love life!

  • do we have really have different metabolic types or do we just rationalize?

gut feeling says that she rationalizez.. i bet graham and durian rider doesn't cheat. or do they?

watch earthlings and come back to me if meat is the best food.

  • thumbs up K

  • high fat diets do not work. raw, vegan or otherwise. look at all the crew that follow high fat diets? they flop.

Susan Schenk belives you can be a breatharian? Dear god help us all!

Read her blog, its full of calorie restriction, high fat recipies, high fat daily food intake..and low fruit..

How come Susan said she eats lots of eggs but still had low b12 when she ate em but says 'you need to eat eggs if you have low b12'..

Susans is just another confused author. :(

  • @durianriders I think your confused.

  • "Royal jelly.....not a vegan product." Why did she point out that tidbit for royal jelly when the foods she listed before that aren't vegan either? Sardines, mackerel, eggs, etc.? Of all of the non-vegan products she listed, royal jelly is the least objectionable.

  • someone asked why you put the meatlady on 3 times in a row...lol...if the interview is an hour long you can only put it in 10-15 min increments on you tube. this would mathematically break it down to several videos. I for one like a variety of information and appreciate kevin for sharing more than just one side of a story. Judging anyone for eating differently is like saying judge me for eating my way. So lets be cool and send good vibes into the universe, peace, one love, respect and all that

  • @ramonalisa just so you know (since I guess you dont) its not about eating different, i dont care if someone eats shit they found on the side of the road, but I do care when animals are killed and spend there whole life in a cage too small to spread there arms. peace and whatever back to ya.

  • I've read on a raw site that cacao, though high in antioxidants, is extremely toxic. Animals won't even eat it because it kills them.

  • @Weewinkle7 Where did you read this ? I'm curious because I was going to buy cacao .

  • @Weewinkle7 Correct!

It shouldn't be eaten; that "high" you feel is the toxicity your body is experiencing.

I don't think anyone should eat it... Studies seem to agree.

  • Thanks Kevin for posting this. I think there are to many extremist who want to just stick to being raw without regard to what their bodies truly need. I found it hard to stay all raw. I feel best with at least organic raw milk/cheese and some eggs. I've also used grassfed meats, but I dont feel as well always on meats. A balance is key for me. high raw and some animal products. I agree with the fish. and also what she says about everyone having different needs. Gotta love green juices tho!

  • thank you for doing this interview.. lots of food for thought. i am glad that raw folks are keeping open minds. i try to stay open, but still search for inconsistencies. we need to still listen to our bodies and personally when i eat meat, i feel like poo (that's a technical term.. haha).

i do find some contradictions here. if she feels great, why is she sounding desperate for her cacao and ice-cream? perhaps her body needs more fruit and less meat if she needs these things.???

  • @RawHealingPatch Great Point!!!

  • @RawHealingPatch -just wanted to thank you for your comments and ongoing balanced wisdom (here and on your vids). I agree, we do well to stay open but be discerning about inconsistencies, and intuitive about our bodies. I relate to what you heard here -- that her language reveals some contradictions. We all go through experimental phases, but for me most non-vegan experiments creates havoc in my body and my energy dips to total fatigue which then creates a "need" for sweet stimulants to mask it

  • @katwest11 thanks for the comment, katwest 11.... yes, i think it is good that susan is experimenting, but perhaps she could continue on her path for a longer period of time before she jumps to conclusions and writes her next book "proving" that a meat based diet is what she needs. with so many contradictions and an obvious need for stimulants, i think she needs to take some more time with herself instead of defining the ultimate diet just yet. thanks.. it's all about staying open!

  • @RawHealingPatch.... I agree. And I like the direction the raw community seems to be heading, which is to not only be more open but also to be even more honest. It seems like there sometimes much saving face that must be done to keep the raw "high" in the forefront and encourage others to give up the S.A.D. but yes, for any raw guru to be vulnerable enough to be okay with stepping off of the expert wagon for a time would be a super-positive thing in my book. Kudos to so many for doing just that.

  • (Long time lurker - first time commenting) I really admire you guys for trying to display the full spectrum of the raw diet. It's always interesting to hear opinions and information from different people with different lifestyles.

  • Im jealous that hes even got a blue sky to look at. Here in the UK our skies are decimated by chemtrails :-(

  • Every human needs a different ratio of protein, carbs and fat. being a vegan or raw foodist (both of which are modern inventions) may suit some people but not all. The Eskimos would die on a raw vegan food diet. They just eat protein and fat (?) Loads of vegans are aggressive due to low tryptophan and fat. Weston A Price found no tribes that ate raw food exclusively. No one particular diet is healthy for everyone. Get on the right fuel for YOU.

  • Just eat real food people. Stop making things so complicated. Geez!

  • @Nakutao Haha I know right! ;)

  • This part of the interview she is shifting her views a bit.

Yes I have driven through Sedona love the desert.

Still sticking with the vegan diet my memory has not faltered yet.

  • Raw cacao isn't stimulating at all. Most of the "raw cacao" products on the marke are not raw at all, so if they are cooked at high heat, they will be more stimulating, etc. Anyone who tries the truly raw cacao powder from Big Tree Farms will know that it is not stimulating at all.

  • I have been to almost that EXACT spot in Sedona!! Oh how you make me miss it. I can't wait to go back there. There is no place like it. ^.^

  • Are you two eating meat now?

  • I'm not a vegetarian but meat (of any kind) just doesn't taste good to me. I like eggs though. I need to switch over to raw foods. They are a big part of my diet and that's what I crave. I crave 2 things like crazy....kale and pomegranates.....does that mean I'm lacking something?

  • eggs are a great superfood, ask anybody in the Cardiac Ward...

  • @furseiseki LOL , I used to eat steak in the morning to get my pre workout protein . I got big muscles and I was prone to illness and had no energy . I went from 176 to 207 pounds , but although I was physically strong , I had to sleep for hours after working out . I got mono 2 times and had chronic bronchitis . I bought a juicer , eat a mostly vegan diet (some goat cheese) and now I have endless energy , never get sick ,and only weigh 185 pounds with just as much strength as at 200 pounds !

  • @MindofaJedi Nice. I'm thinking more and more about eating occasianally goat's cheese or maybe fish oil. I just want to be healthy and give my body everything it needs.

  • @furseiseki I don't want you to feel attacked or anything but I do feel as though your comment is slightly uncalled for. Eggs are high cholesterol (but they do have a great deal of nutrients) - like most foods - they are harmful in large quantities.

You're certainly free to have your own opinion on what constitutes 'healthy' foods. I use the term broadly because it seems to be more and more subjective. However, please do respect other people's lifestyles. :D Sorry for being overbearing!

  • @furseiseki There's no direct empirical link between eggs and cardiac issues.

  • Wow, you really like the Meat Lady, 3rd time in a row you've had her on. So Kevin, anything you want to tell us about YOUR diet? What I'm really asking is have you gone over to the dark side?

  • Comment removed

  • @Triggin1 I'm guessing that @furseiseki is talking about eating meat or other animal products.

  • Yes, Ive been there!! It is absolutley amazing! The energy from the mountains made my eyes tear and my skin goosbumps! Very beautiful and very powerful place on our wonderful earth :)
