  • I whistle this song at work all the time. =P

  • @Tyton Haha ! So do I :D This game is just awesome. Seriously. One of the best game ever made.

  • I am crying. It's been about 7 years since i played that game. :')

  • @iReptileX11 hahaha it's been 12-15 years when i got it !

  • has anyone here read the giver? i think this song would go really good with the final part, where Jonas is biking away from the community with gabriel, like on his trip...

    ...yeah

  • @12345ccr In Canada, most students are required to read the Giver by grade 7, so yes, I did. :P Strange book. If you liked it, you maaaay like 1984, one of my all-time favorites.

  • @NessAndLucied

as of when? I spent the first 30 years of my life in Alberta, and I,ve never HEARD of the book.

  • @nikkicoyotie Most likely because the Giver was only first publicated in 1993, 18 years ago.

  • oh man no....i was like 6 the first time i heard this masterpiece....yeah, im crying..

  • This brings back old memories...I love this Game ! I must have the Version in the PSN Store. *_____*

  • Zun is such a plagiarist.

  • If anyone is interested, several tracks in Wild Arms were inspired by music composed by Ennio Morricone for some of the spaghetti westerns starring Clint Eastwood. Fistful of Dollars, Ecstasy of Gold, For a Few Dollars More etc. Its fun to listen and see if you recognize any wild arms music buried in his songs.

  • I feel so happy and nostalgic listening to this song.

Especially since my new phone has a cover of this as the default ringtone <3

  • One of the best intro music i know.

I own the orginal PSX version, the PS2 remake in US and Jp version

and the OST. The western-style touched music is very special and really love!!

  • that game was so epic , good days i had playing with my friends 12 years ago

  • so.. games used to have a good story? what a pity that's before my time =/

  • 1 person needs a hearing aid

  • I dunno, but this music made me cry....... Go figure.

  • never played this game before but from the music, i can say it's great.

    this song's amazing!

  • I just finished the game :D <3 and it's awesome :)

  • Why aren't games made like this any more? Only thing on today's gamers mind is graphics T.T

  • I just love the game and also the song! <3

Everytime, I hear People moaning and yellng over the game, I'm asking myself "Why"? This Game is absolutely lovely and has such nice charakters! <3

  • I'll be honest, I never heard of Wild Arms until a few days ago on a tut of something. They played this song first and I was like, "Awesome song." Then I went looking for it. This does sound like a cool game.

  • Truely great game. I used to have it but my friend stepped ont he disk! I beat the holy hell out of him for that

  • This song just embodies the game...the journey of the trio.....one of the best experiences of my life to this day was completing this game.

  • Maybe the graphic is a shit, yes, we are in 2011, now Final fantasy XIII and Warcraft have got best graphic, but they'll never have got a story and a music like this epic game. No, not a game. A story. This game is story, is one of the best RPG ever made...

  • @TheLeonhart96 final fantasy and warcraft dont have the best graphics.... it more like crysis2 and soon battlefield 3 i belive....

  • @TVjoakim They were only examples. I'm saying that with a poor graphics and a wonderful texture Wild Arms claims to this day. Sorry for bad english

  • @TheLeonhart96 You ain't knowing nothing about warcraft so stop telling lies. If you'd used google once you would've found out that warcraft's lore is truly great such as soundtracks are too. And it's not got great graphics for nowaday's standarts (NEVER mix WORLD OF Warcraft up with WARCRAFT!!).

  • @MrOladin Listen up, what I've said will remain what i've said: Wild Arms is better than Warcraft. It's my opinion, If you don't like, don't read.

  • @TheLeonhart96 I never said that warcraft would be better than Wild Arms. But what you said wasn't correct. And it still isn't. So why do you have to bug people who don't share your opinion? And i think you still don't know Warcraft.

  • @MrOladin I'm not bugging anyone. I'm only saying that i you don't like my opinion, don't read ^^ If you think that I don't know Warcraft, I'm sorry, you're wrong. Anyway, Wild Arms remains a great game :D

  • Goblins that sound like cats, blobs that sound like monkeys, what a game! I miss the days when I could play this and it was all new and exciting. Sorta like watching a great movie for the first time, every time after just isn't as amazing--great no doubt, but not as amazing.

  • Lol one dislike. Looks pretty pathetic and sad.

  • Did Ennio Morricone compose this? lol

  • @LalsMK91 Yeah, really nice, like a E. Morricone music ! ;-D ( ...& also have a great western feeling like lot of Ennio Morricone`s music. ^^ ( Once Upon a Time in the West (1968) for example) )

  • @hedzsooo Yeah, I know! Hehe.

  • I remember buying this game thinking it would be a distraction until something better came out,i quickly came to love it,its great when you get suprised like that.

  • Ich Liebe dieses Lied, es weckt einfach tolle Erinnerungen, hab jedesmal das Intro angeschaut nur wegen diesem Song

  • When this game was made, graphics had a long way to go. You simply couldnt make a game that only looked good and had polished physics. The technology wasnt there. So they had to hire actual artists with actual talent to make the music and story amazing so as to cover up the technological shortfalls. As video game tech has advanced those people have been pushed out. The result is pretty games with no soul being game of the year for the past half decade. Pitiful.

  • @Nonsensei436 There are all too many games that use stock story elements.

  • @Nonsensei436 Not even lost oddesey or tales of vesperia?

  • @Nonsensei436 how does mass effect not have any soul? Have you played any games lately?

  • @neogalahad Yes i have. Mass effect has a decent story, and yet it is not on the top of anyone's most popular game list. The most popular games are mindless shooty crap with no story like Cod:MW and its ilk.

  • @Nonsensei436 Are you kidding me? Mass Effect 2 won a ton of awards through a lot of different sources, like spike tv awarded it best xbox 360 game of 2010. Decent story? You are talking about soul and you dont give credit to the sheer amount of thought that was put into the Mass Effect universe, because that is what they made, a UNIVERSE.

  • @neogalahad You missed the point. Mass effect is the exception and still it isn't anywhere near the top of the profitability or popularity chart. And then what? Mass effect? Is that all you got? How about music? Got any tracks from any video games made within the last 5-7 years on your playlist? I doubt it. The typical modern game sacrifices story and music and atmosphere for eye candy. Guys in the 90's were making games with twice the "soul" of mass effect and 1/500th the graphics power.

  • @Nonsensei436 radiant historia for DS has the one of the best soundtracks I have heard in a long time. If im not mistaken that was released this year? Yeah it was. What games exactly are you holding up so highly? Wild Arms? This game is not that great compared to something like valkyrie profile or star ocean 2. As for newer games, Lost Odyssey had a decent sountrack but the poetry of memories has the best writing I have read in any video game. I just think you miss the 'golden' age of the psx.

  • @neogalahad Star Ocean (all of them) and Valkryie Profile have nothing on Wild ARMs >_>

  • @NessAndLucied wow, you must be senile and stuck in your own nostalgia.

  • @NessAndLucied You two can keep this fight up untill your face turns blue, but it is for naught. As your opinions are subjective, I, personally think Wild arms was shit, but I can still enjoy it as a classic, and it has great music aswell.

  • @roofstones That was my first comment in that 'fight' :/

  • @NessAndLucied Usualy how it starts. Haters gona hate, and be hated I guess.

  • @neogalahad

People like you buying into overhyped, paid-off games/reviews that have contributed to games being so shit these days. Game of the Year is a hollow award these days, along with the rest of them. Much like how certain celebrities will appear on top50 hottest celebs of 2011 simply to give the big budget movies they're starring in more advertising. They get bought into those spots, same as GOTY awards and anything like it. Game critics/magazines are a joke. They were good in the 90's.

  • @Torin06 Ok now you are bashing game of the year when you just said that mass effect is not on peoples list of favorite games. Honestly I could care less about game of the year but there are a lot of pretty damn good games out there. Not all games that have "soul" are RPGs, take a look at Enslaved. Its not the most innovative game to be ever concieved but its a damn good story with exceptional voice acting and I felt more immersed in that world than any RPG I have ever played. I dont buy hype

  • @Nonsensei436

The last game with soul was FF 10.

  • @CleverDjembe Shadow of the Colossus

  • @CleverDjembe didnt like it. i keep hearing all my friends say its the best of the lot, but number 8 is. I accept this is only my opinion.

  • @Nonsensei436 I couldn't say more right than you... :(

    I don't own a PS3 I barely played my PS2

ALl i do is playing again and again those good old games from PS1 and N64. because I feel something when I start them up, a feeling I don't get when playing a game like... GTA4... yeah.

  • @Nonsensei436 Yeah, now you really know why us, retrogamers, are always criticising the new generation

  • @Nonsensei436 Explained so well, thanks for your insight.

  • @Nonsensei436 At the time I actually liked the graphics, but I have to agree.. The music and story was amazing.. Of the top of my head I can name a few games that I LIKE today, but no game has ever been able to match Wild Arms or even Wild Arms 2.

  • @ManosOfTerra Well, Wild Arms 3 did a pretty good job too I'd say :)

Though I may be not neutral here, WA3 brought me into the series ^^

    Clive is just awesome :D

  • @Nonsensei436 Yeah, it's a pitty they have been sent out into the wilderness :(

Wait a sec, actually, no. I wanna switch places with them if we talk about Wild Arms Wilderness :D

  • wa²

  • when i first heard this intro while playing the game i fell in love with this lovely melody and watched the intro about 20 times in a row just to listen to this... trully facinating

  • FUCKIN GameStop DONT SELL PS1 GAMES ANYMORE! GOSH I WANT THIS GAME SO FUCKIN MUCH INCLUDING Brave Fencer Musashi AND Alundra. BEST FUCKIN RPGs EVER!!!

  • @liloblindboi You can get them off ebay nowadays. There's also the PSN store which has Alundra and both Wild ARMs games on it.

  • @NessAndLucied Suikoden

  • @NessAndLucied Not on the PSN store of my country. I hate Sony

  • @liloblindboi Get a PS3 and get internet. They sell it on the PSstore for like 10 bucks, they got other classis too, damn good deal man, you should check it out. there's some good games on PS3 anyways, I got one and love, just don't go on any porn sites with it ><

  • @pfcroesch why not?

  • @liloblindboi try xenogears

  • @lastdracon own but never played it. my older bros did play it but i dont really remember the game so well. rite now i cant find the game in my house but i did find the guide book.

  • @liloblindboi lol, want mine? ill give it to you free. ive only beat it once, but i like it alot. i wouldnt mind giving it to you.

i havent played it ina while cuz im playing FF8 atm. and i ahve alot of other games too. besides, once you beat it once you kinda get bored.

  • @mickcha212 u sure u want to give it away one of the best rpgs of all time just like tat. hmmm...nah its ok buddy, keep it. there will be a day when u might wanna come back and play it again so keep it. but thanks alot for the offer. theres lots of ways i can get it so dont worry about it ;)

  • @liloblindboi haha, this my sisters account, and i dont feel like loggning in mine, but... you should try to ebay it, or amazon it. its so definitly worth it. i actualy played it the other day.

  • @liloblindboi download it on playstation network man. I think its $10.

  • @liloblindboi Go to Gamestop.com and look up Wild Arms, the remake version of this game is called Wild Arms Alter Code F, it is extended a little and updated graphics according to the PS2 time, i'm going to get a copy too myself :3

  • @liloblindboi

I have Wild Arms and Brave Fencer Musashi lol

    on PS1 :D

  • @liloblindboi If you got a ps3 or psp you can download them on the psn store :)

  • @liloblindboi Lol u underage bro?

  • @liloblindboi

    Amazon.com broski.

  • @liloblindboi or you can just google a psx emulator + wild arms rom and play it in like 30 min from now

  • @liloblindboi Ive still got my copy from when it first came out, wouldnt mind playing it again like!

  • @liloblindboi since game companies no longer make money off alot of the older games because they dont sale them anymore i see no reason not to get them off torrent sites....thats what i do. i only DL games i cant get anywhere else

  • @liloblindboi There's a store in my town that has it. I've been trying to get it for sooooooooo fucking long. When I was a kid, my mom's ex stole my copy. I went into the store with $10(which is what he asked for) and said I wanted to buy it. He refused to sell it to me because it was in the back of the store and he didn't want to get it. I was furious, so about a month later I had the local wannabe gangsters wreck his store. I still play this on an emulator.

  • @liloblindboi

it will be in the playstation store soon ^^

  • I think thats the best intro song ever :)

  • Today, you skip the intro and play the game.

Here, you play the intro and...okay, play the game ^^

Here you find the reason why the old RPGs from SNES (SoM,SoE,Terranigma,...) and PSX (WA,FF,...) are beloved. They have a soul!

  • Fav this if you try to whistle it!

  • I think it reminds me of Clint Eastwood riding off into the sunset in one of his old westerns.

  • thumbs up if your a dream chaser!

  • Every time I hear this song, it takes me back to my childhood. Nostalgia hard, man.

  • overshadowed by ff 7 =(

  • @Lukeee900 it came out quite a while before final fantasy 7, but it didn't garner a large enough fanbase. a guy on IGN reviewing the game simply stated it was "A good game to hold us over until Final Fantasy 7". Sad, really.

  • If I had known this was on PS3 i probably woulda kept it :( oh well I know i have the actual ps1 game somewhere :D

  • i heard this is on playstaion store now is that true?

  • @Unspollidquill It's been on the PlayStation store for many years now :P Wild ARMs 2 is also on there.

  • @NessAndLucied

... you, good sir, have convinced me to get a PS3 when I have the cash. (Well, you and a handful of games, but mostly the fact that the first two ARMs games are on there~)

  • I always whistle along the whole song while hearing it !!

  • Wild ARMs has such memorable music. I still find myself whistling this even today

  • great song...great rpg!

  • @2RadGetriebe PS1

  • God this song always gets me. I never had a PS1, but I've played this game and this song was always amazing to me.

  • Super hard nostalgia.

  • Just recently started replaying this game, I can't get enough of it.

  • Whoa this is old.. one of my favourite RPGs for the ps1

i think i still have this song on my ipod

  • this tune sets me back to when i was 5yrs old thx for the upload dude ^^

  • Oh my god, this is so great theme. My friend (whom i bought wild arms game) wanted me to get piano sheet for this theme. I'm glad i did. Definetly one of the best song EVAR!!!!!!!

  • @silentasssasin whered you get the piano sheet music my friend? i've been looking and i can't seem to find it haha

  • I have fond memories of this game, because of this song. I barely even played the game, however I would like to get hold of it and play it through.

  • this is such a classic. thumbs up ^^

  • OMG is this game part of the Wild Arms series?

  • @Nazuiko Well, it's called Wild Arms.

  • Hey, all of you guys saying you remember playing this game. How many of you still have it?

  • i do ^^

  • one of the best rpg's i have EVER played---thank you for putting this up.....good times (^.^)

  • lol I used to think the graphics of this game was really good back in the day, now looking back it's soooo terrible. Yet, the story/game is much better than the new modern ones. One of the greatest games ever made.

  • ahhh memeries......my 1st ever rpg,and i was 2

  • omg this is like one of the greates games ever made... every time i hear this song it brings a tear to my eye... it reminds me of when i was 6 years old playing my first RPG...

  • @jd81792 My sister and I used to play this game when I was WAY young, don't really remember what age. I remember when she would fight the bosses and I would go and run to the bathroom and cover my ears, the suspense was too much! lol. (I could tell if she died because the sad music would start playing). Holy fucking nostalgia! Wow....

  • Wild Arms... *sigh*

Only a memory of beauty for me now... This song brings back so many joys...

  • idk how crappy the battle graphhics were it was still an all time fav and best selling game

  • You know, there was a time where I actually thought Wild Arms was owned by Square-Enix. Pretty stupid of me, huh? XD

    Anyway, great song. :)

  • that depends on how old you were ;)

When I played this game I wasn't even in school lol, there I thought much stupid things

Whatever...yeah, it IS truely a great song

  • Well, I think I was 10. Even though Square and Enix didn't merge in 2002, I could've sworn I saw the company's logo on the box art for Wild Arms 3.

  • Yeah because Square-Enix makes bad games.

  • nuh-uh you just need to find the good ones. and no, i dont mean FF7. I mean the first, fifth, sixth, and eighth Final Fantasies and about 1000 other games Square has done. they make way more than FF after all. Anyway, my friend got me into Wild Arms, but i havent played it nor seen it played yet. I bet its awesome tho

  • I'm not talking about Squaresoft. The reason why 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8 are good is because Squaresoft was responsible for their production.

I'm talking about Square-Enix. I've been playing RPGs for a very long time. Long enough to visually see the transition from Squaresoft quality, to Square-Enix quality.

By the way, thanks for filling me in that "Square makes more than FF games." I had no idea. And yes, Wild Arms is awesome.

  • it has a country/salsa feel to it

  • Yeah, that's sort of what Wild ARMs is all about. Western combined with magical demons. A+ for me ^_^

  • Sounds much like a Western Sunset for me...perfect for Wild ARMs...

  • it is a great song. in my video response i *attempted* to insert it into pokemon ruby. there are no glitches, but the beginning sounds pretty bad. real 8-bit-like.

  • It sounds really good.

  • thank you. i don't know how to change instruments, so it's stuck with those annoying 8-bit bleeps. maybe if i could get the person who made the music in shiny gold to help me, it would be much better.

  • and ninja aliens! don't forget the ninja aliens. and the robots. HELL YEAH!
