  • Hey mate, Socialism has been slowly growing in both America and in Australia since the 30s.

Socialism means complete dependancy on the state for everything. Education, healthcare, employment, food etc.

It is a terrible system that promotes laziness, and using 'need' as a claim for everything. It discourages innovation & self reliance, and oppresses free spirit.

I recommend you read 'Atlas Shrugged' or maybe watch this video about it:

  • There is no political Left or Right, There is only FREEDOM or CONTROL. That is why the "scare tactics" used in relation to Socialism should be met with a serious reaction of FEAR.

  • democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to eat for lunch

  • well ill tell you whats wrong with socialism.. some ideal form of socialism may be great, but the actual reality is that most socialist systems are based on forcing people to do things, and control over individuals... to have individual freedoms, you cant live in a community that forces all members to sacrifice for the betterment of the colony based on what the majority want.. i dont want to be a kindergartner or bee worker, charity shouldnt be forced on people, it should be your choice

  • @longfootbuddy indeed.

  • i am american, i envy socialist countries.

  • socialism is a good form of economics that republicans blow out of proportion to make Americans believe is a dictatorial form of government just to put fear in the left. Scare Tactics

  • America already is a socialist country due to the actions of our central bankers and the US Treasury. Kind of a moot point now.

  • Socialism, liberalism, blah, blah, blah, just buzz words from the fearful fan club of the almighty Rush Limbaugh

  • i'm an American... the concept of socialism is beautiful... the key is honest legislators to oversee its operation...

    peace2U

  • of course, that isn't possible

  • @Ledvolta

people once said Heavier than air flying machines were impossible. It could be that technology holds the key again to a fairer world... who knows?

  • I agree with you 100%! Socialism is the Boogey Man in the closets of conservatives in America. We need a balance of both capitalism and socialism. This out-of-balance in the U.S. sent the world in an economic tail-spin along with deregulated capitalism. The conservative republican party are directly responsible for this Global Recession with their failed self-serving policies that Obama and congressional Democrats are in the process of rectifying.

  • As for the concept of Socialism. I would have very much agree with you and say that the basis for Socialism is a brilliant idea and if mankind was able to make a Socialist state work without it getting corupt, it would serve mankind better then any other form of controling body. Be it political or religious. Sadly mankind has yet to make Socialism work with out huge crimes against humanity being committed. It's to bad really.

  • I totally agree. First, I feel the issue with Obama rests in the fact the he isn't a self proclaimed Chirstian. I think that holds the biggest weight with the media. I saw a documentary about the Jews that were trying to emigrate to the US at the end of WWII and many of them, holocaust survivors, were not alowed in to America because many republican/ right wing law makers of the time felt that if they weren't Christian's, then they must be communists.

  • but Obama is Christian; only he does not go on and on about it... lol!

  • The reason people buy it is because Fox is selling it. It's right wing propaganda.

  • It's ridiculous, it's not socialism at all

  • I know. They seem to think capitalism with a slightly bigger government is the same as no capitalism. It's pretty stupid, but most people don't take the time to find out what it really means, and believe what Fox and the republicans tell them over and over.
