  • Anyone know of Richwood Thinlines?

  • @Kid0fThePast it seems similar to sx, i saw the same shop i buyed this one take richwood after a while, but i miss a direct experience on it, i would be interested in know more (or if they're sx with another brand)

  • @rafport Well when I buy one I will tell you! I have read around and not found a single bad thing said about them, they are cheap as chips too

  • @Kid0fThePast ok i'll wait for a feedback

  • how is the neck, is it thin line a true fender?

  • @Berlefant is fatter

  • Do you finally change the pickups?

  • Why do you have a scrunchie or hairband on your guitar does it decrease fret buzz or something

  • @adamphillips44 i put for some two hands tapping session to all my guitars (i buy a box full of hairband so i have even too many!), but after a while i leave from all not "technician" guitars, where i not plan to did such things over :) It has not buzz on headstock, anyway hairband do anything bad. I use frequently some mouse pad piece into strats for spring buzz under the bridge trem, this can be pretty unpleasant sometime. But this headstock was ok

  • I'm getting that guitar.

  • its not about brands man, its about how you make the instrument smokes and fly

  • Did you replace the nut, pots, wiring? Anything else other than strings & a good setup? Awesome tone to it. Thanks!

  • @brtube569 at moment ìve wood, bridge, tuners and pots of stock and i changed selector (original pretty bad) nut (very bad) pickups (pretty good, but this new ones play better) string retainer on headstock (i put rollers). in this old video it was all stock, i just setup it, so starting quality is good, and it played better than several full price teles. now is one of smarter tele i ever played, i'll post something with new pickups soon

  • @rafport

what pick up did you put in?

  • @i mount a set of custom shop nocaster from fender, alnico 2 magnet vintage output, very twangy and country. more balanced than stock one (stock bridge was very good but a bit "violent", this one is very bright and cutting but with some softer and gestible tone, stock neck was a bit too dark the nocaster is much brighter). i'm not filming from some month but i intend put this and other mod i did on my guitars on late months :)

  • Wow, more than accomplished guitar playing sir.

  • @TheBigMclargehuge thank you!

  • the guitar sounds fantastic and so do you. bravo.

  • @peskypesky very thanks!

  • Not a fair review, this guy could make any guitar sound good!!

But this is a great guitar, I have one myself and I'm blown away by the quality and ridiculously low price.

  • proves the old axiom - it's all in the fingers and heart. Fantastic playing!! Very sweet stuff.

  • @ed4564 thank you very much :) a good instrument is important, but the tone is in the finger. For absurd it seem, someone play better with a worst tone, less "transparent"... anyway i'm going to try some other pickup in this good guitar, and it need for sure a change of selector and pots

  • How would you say the neck and frets compare on this guitar to a standard Telecaster?

  • @shawnogram there are several teles, this neck is almost a bit fatter than a standard tele but i tried some teles with a bigger neck. anyway is quite fat :) frets are jumbo, most of standard fender instruments have thinner frets. i find the sx solution confortable and fit my style. you need to setup the brand new guitar anyway, the stock setup was quite poor

  • ¿ésa guitarra está hecha en México?

  • @andfrankisdead it is made in china

  • davvero bravo bellissima tele ^__^!! volevo sapere che prezzo ha il pod xt live lo trovo davvero un ottimo pedale ..

    Ps.davvero bravo a suonarla ^^!

  • wonderfull song and guitar!!

i will buy one sx tele tomorrow : )

  • very good, it is a great guitar ar a very low price (mine at least is). you may need just a little setup on neck and bridge, like almost any guitar under high price level

  • Your tone is marvelous... by the way.

I'm getting the same great tones out of mine. Why change? For what? Modern Fender's just don't seem to Twang. G&L's are too noisy & sterile sounding. I've played lots of Tele's & this one really does it for me. No kidding.

  • thank you. i tried a neck twang king and it was a great pickup for sure, i thinked about mount a couple of those. this tele is so inexpensive i was thinking about buy a second to mod. anyway i've too many guitars so maybe it is better wait a little :)

  • I bought the exact same guitar & I'm not changing the pick-ups on mine. I played it live & I have never played a finer modern Tele at any price. My last Tele was $1900... GONE.

  • i've play mine and a fender 54 reissue tele togheter. is a solid body, but tone of bridge was quite similiar and neck different but more or less for my taste they had similiar quality, and no doubt the sx tone is a real tele with those unexpensive pickups. it is really incredibile

  • I haven't tried one of the 54's.

  • Bellissimo twang e grande mano!

    Complimenti davvero.

  • grazie!

beh per 130 euro di chitarra ci mancherebbe anche che non abbia un gran suono! :D

  • Hi Rafport, I have a deluxe players strat into a vox ac4thH, into a celestion 1 x12" and it sounds like S**T!!. on your modded strat why did you choose the custom shop 54 pickups?? and is it worth upgrading the volume and tone pots??.All the sounds i'm getting from my guitar, just sound flat and lifeless, not even like a strat!! any help will be appreciated.from anybody!!

  • hi, sure i'm at your disposal. strat deluxe players should have vintage noiseless and ash body, someone doesnt like noiseless single coil but for sure you have good pickup, as you get very good amp and cab. so you really need to understand what is the problem, what you dont like or what is not working as it should (tubes?). if you can describe me better what you dont like of your tone, i'll try to aid you :) bye!

  • I wouldn't change the pickups from the sounds I'm hearing from the guitar! The reason I would change the pickups is if the guitar feeds back with medium gain or not obsessive high gain! That is the reason I want to change my neck pickup in my strat, I love the sound not the east to squeel that comes with it! Great chops throughout! -PK

  • usually i trend to change pickup because stock ones trend to be flat in dynamic and wouldn't aid touch with string to "come out" and has several variations. i'm also a lover of "cheap" guitars and i love to mod by my taste, and set everything as i like or i need, so usually i find just poor pickups on board... but this one rocks, i can't understand how can play like that for their price
