To all you posted: this is my legends dragster. It is a yam 1314,40mm makunis, webb cams, mre lock-up clutch w/elect over air shifter, 70 hp shot nos on Schnitz controller, line lock dyna ignition, back-halved w/ford 8" and 325 gears. the run on this video was without the 2 step, nos, or air shifter, as i was trying towork out the stumble seen in the video. everything has been sorted, and be running consistent 10.70's, 10.60s this year. I'M CHALLANGING ANY FJ POWERED LEGENDS TO COME AND GET ME
Really? Your the dumbass. Its either an open 1200cc Yamaha FJ or XJ street bike engine, or its a sealed 1250cc Yamaha XJ engine. Made from 1986 until 1996 although it was discontinued in the US in 1993. 600 Racing, Inc. who produces the cars has a contract with Yamaha to make an X amount of 1250cc sealed engines per year, sold exclusively to 600 Racing, Inc. Thus keeping the air cooled legend alive, for now anyways. Although water cooled cylinders have been produced and are available for use.
how do you figure they were never used in USA? I personally have two 1988 Yamaha FJ1200s. Sure they may have been been made in Japan but the engine is defiantly being used right here in the good ol USA. Hell they even have the charcoal canisters for California emissions...now something tells me that it was, and still is being used in USA as well as in every Legends Car and Thunder Roadster. And every other FJ1200 motorcycle still out and about. So explain how they were never used in USA.
Oh also forgot to mention there is one in my Legends Car, there is one in my brothers Legends car, there is one in my dads Legends Car, as well as his Thunder Roadster. Plus the three complete spares. And countless amount of cores laying around here. As well as customers engines on the bench. And I live and race in California, so again, they are defiantly being used in the USA.
@bandoboy32 well thats funny cuz i saw at least ten yamaha fj1200 sport bikes at a local bike night these must be custom made.i bet they flew to japan took a snowmobile apart shipped the engine back to the US and put it in a motorcycle that just happens to be named fj1200 just like the engine.i bet thats what it is dont you?
