  • I really like the way the singer and lutenist worked the acoustics of the hall they performed in- very hard to do,

masterly done piece of musical art. Bravo....

  • I'm in love with this lady, she is fantastic!

  • This is my lady sweep ;)

  • I love the neapolitain chord at 1:06 . I also prefer voices without vibrato. This is my music.

  • i keep falling in love with this lady again and again. you both are incredibly talented musicians!

  • I have been searching for the sheet music for this piece for my voice class and all I have been able to find is the vocal portion, whereas my class requires something for the pianist to follow. Where can I find the instrumental?

  • @SSNUTHIN I edit English vocal music from c. 1580 to c. 1710 from original sources. I can provide much of what anyone might want. Editorial adjustments are possible if done with reasonable discretion.

  • and we have many questions by the sources of investigations that here there aren´t, thanks.

I like your interpretation on lute and the voice It´s very beautiful!!!

  • Hi!! Valeria Mignaco, Soprano & Alfonso Marin, lute,, I wish yours answer my guess, 1-I think maybe this music as the renaiscense inprovisation could be added a ligth percusion or a other instrument like a viola or violin cello or flutes, whatever thing.

2- The voice in that time was less imposted or loud like a child or young aprentice or afitioned vocalist, That was possible?

Thanks I wish your answer because I live in mexico and we are far awy from europe

  • Silence...Oh.. what a delicate performance. TNX for sharing!

  • Their music is at the same time perfect and spontaneous, and her voice is purer than distilled water, with the faultless descent of lute strings like ice in the glass. Her accent is at times noticeable when she sings in English, but in the light of their chemistry and accomplishment, I find it forgiveable and even charming.

  • wonderful music ! "punctum contra punctum" an art that has been forgotten by most of the modern composers. Voice and strings crystal clear, I love it. forgot to mention : 2:54 neapolitain chord

  • veramente un ottima interpretazione complimenti... bravi

  • Fantastic rendering of this little known Renaissance song by John Dowland. I am rapidly becoming fond of the songs by this Duo (Valeria and Alfonso) . Well Done. Beautifully performed.

  • LOVE IT! i think i may do this song in my recital class/....

  • This is no barroque... beautiful singing but wrong context

  • I feel privileged to be able to witness this concert trough U-tube and I have watched it several times; thank you it is wonderfully beautifull and touching (a belgian citizen)

  • Le chant est magnifique...Dommage que la vidéo soit aussi mal filmée. On met son camescope sur pied, on démarre et ON NE TOUCHE PLUS A RIEN....facile non?

  • está en Am?

  • beautiful :)

  • This is a difficult and testing song to perform. Both singer and lutenist pass with flying colours! It is time I returned to the early music enthusiast days of my youth.

Semper Dowland, Semper Dolens, Semper Divinus.

  • @wentonmastermind shut up nerd.

  • touched my inner self profoundly

  • Thanks for swooning me.....Excellent talent...

  • La música barroca suele ser bastante

  • Es música renacentista.

  • @JCP598 Claro.

  • Barroca?

  • I love the dynamics in all of these videos.

    *****

  • echoes the intense pathos of purcell....such grace and feeling...

  • Stirring performance!

  • I wish I could find words to describe what I feel listening to this song. Sublime is the only word that comes to my mind, both music and performers.

  • this is such a hard song ! The breathing is incredibly difficult. It's also difficult for an American to pronounce. Very beautiful job. The lutenist is incredibly expressive. I like his ornamentation especially before the second verse !

  • Bravissimo!

  • 透き通る声!とてもよい。もっと公開してください。

  • Did You hear this song interpreted by Alfred Deller

  • Thank you for posting this...we're singing this for our eartraining class, and it's nice to hear it sung by someone who knows it well.

  • Beautiful, expressive voice. Fine performance of this extraordinarily intense song.

  • Astonishingly wonderful, thanks for posting this.
