Bernard, whilst I agree with you on Ron Paul, I must say that Winston Churchill is NOT my favorite historical figure. I say that being an Englishman myself!
Churchill was little more than a corrupt drunkard who threw away the empire - and millions of lives - by entering Britain into a COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY war with Germany. Hitler had absolutely no designs on Britain. Churchill was a warmonger.

Having said that, I do agree that Churchill often showed little regard for the lives of the common man, but is that not also true of all war time leaders? The average man is just cannon fodder!!!

This is just how superficial America can be... Not a lot are really taken seriously unless they have a smoking-hot spouse to take the edge off the person you should really be conserned with. Is Obama's wife attractive? People have their opinions, but I really don't think she is.

Although she still resembes an ostrich, you have to admit she looks a LOT better than she did BEFORE all that cosmetic surgery. What I've noticed is what a great save the media did with her after her first few exposures to the public. They snatched her up, shut her up, sent her away for cosmetic surgery a crash course in immitating a lady, dressed her up in a copy-cat jackie O. wardrobe and put her back in front of the camera with NO opportunities to speak. Good thinking on their part.

I think you're seeing stories about how "hot" she is, is because of how the right reacted to Sarah Palin. I remember the first reactions by right wingers (I was watching Fox) was along the lines of, "Wow, she's hot."
I think the Left craves that same reaction for their politicians but sadly, they are a bit lacking in that department.

I'd say the thing that turns me off about Michelle is she looks like the kind of person that would disembowel you if you looked at her wrong. Really not my kind of girl. Still, I'd say she looks good because she keeps in shape, but her face isn't the most amazing thing in the world.
That said, though, I thought we elected a president, not the husband of a beauty queen. The left continues to astound at how shallow and superficial they are.
