  • nice

  • never mind i see why

  • wats up wid the 4 tracks does 2 go to a yard

  • i think you should ride on the bi-level coaches soon that could be your next video! ;) i have a couple of times.

  • As a matter of fact I have tons of videos riding on the C3s! Last summer (2009), my grandma and I rode from Mineola to Oyster Bay and back. A few years ago when I was in Riverhead, the conductor gave myself a tour of the headend power (DE30AC 4xx).

  • @Train538 Did You Upload Them Yet?

  • Oh really? You're the first person to ever say that. Even the M1s (now retired) and M3s were/are ugly to you? Why do you say that?

  • Great video! LIRR's multilevel cars are very similar to NJ Transit's multilevels.

  • Thank-you! Just one minor correction-they are C3 Bi-Levels, not Multilevels because remember that "Bi" means two and "Multi" means 3+. Yes I do agree with what you said!

  • @Train538 Oh ok. I never thought of them that way. Thanks.

  • No problem. I'm always happy to help.

  • Nice video! I would love to live over there!

  • Thanks!

  • Have the locals agitated for a quiet zone? It would seem that with the crossing protected by gates the horns wouldn't be necessary.

  • I'm pretty sure some people have but Mineola is one of the most busiest LIRR stations that the engineers need to blow their horns. Well also blowing Rule 14L with gates reduces the number of accidents because when there are no gates at a very busy (or many) crossing, many people would be tempted to out-run the train. Also the max speed is 80 mph through there. When you think about it in another way, having gated crossings not be quiet zones make a lot of sense.

  • Great Job!!!! I never knew you went railfanning on LI!!!

  • Haha thank-you so much!! Yeah I've railfanned on Long Island many times! I have family that lives on L.I. as well. five0fan is a really great friend of mine. Have you ever seen any of my Manhasset/Port Washington Branch series?

  • @Train538 No, I haven't, but I'll go check those out. I actually live on the Montauk Branch.

  • Please do! Oh nice! You should go railfanning and upload some videos!

  • What does that "W" sign stand for? I know that engineers blow their horn every time they see one.

  • Whistle (horn).

  • @Train538 Ahh, man. Thanks for that. That's one of those things where you go, "Why didn't I think of that!?"

  • No problem. Haha we all have those moments! They're really annoying.

  • You should put another sign under that "Unlawful to pass lowered railroad gate" sign that says "Enforced by trains"

  • Hahaha yes someone should!

  • I was in Fonday, NY on the CSX Chicago - Selkirk line and there was a sign at a RR Xing that said "State Law - Do Not Stop on Tracks" and I thought of putting a sign under it that said "Enforced by Trains." I saw your vid and saw that it would also fit under the sign here.

  • Nice double tap horn from the Oyster Bay train.

  • I'll say. 5022 has a very well tuned Leslie K13A.

  • fiveofan told me bout this on facebook

  • I would think he would.

  • @Train538 great vid thou

  • Thanks!

  • @Train538 i gotta hit mineola sometime soon btw ur welcome

  • You really should. The first time I ever went to Mineola was last August (2009) to ride the entire Oyster Bay Branch. I may post most of the video some time but it depends when I have the time.

  • @Train538 ive been to mineola b4 its a great spot to railfan and i could take the train i need to figure out when thou i may be going in july

  • Ohh ok nice.

  • great horn action at mineola! ;)

  • Haha thank-you!

  • Great video!

  • nice ! just one question , why doesn't the LIRR paint the sides of the M7 with a yellow strip?

  • Thank-you! That's just the design that the LIRR chose. It actually makes sense to only have the front painted and not the sides on the M7s but the M8s it looks really cool with the red stripe on the sides.

  • I was there Saturday and Sunday (About 2 hours before you)! Nice video!

  • Oh cool! Thanks!

  • Awesome video!

  • Thanks!

  • Train538,This is the first time I have seen your videos and they are very good.Keep up the great work.

  • Thank-you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
