The description of this video is confusing. I'm guessing he is talking about the movie version? The series version of this scene (episode 34) is better than this in my opinion. It's longer and they use a different song. The emotion of the scene is greater because you don't have a guy singing in the background during a scene that is so quiet.
@duboman3 Don't worry, Gundam Origins may just be the answer. If you haven't heard about it, it's an anime of Gundam Origins, a manga based on the original TV show, yet there's stuff in it the anime didn't have. Not sure if it's going to be a proper series of some movie series like Unicorn.
@ChaosZack08 is directed towards his unborn son. This scene is beautiful and thanks to Lalah we were shown that Char is some generic badass, but a very human character. Thanks to Lalah, Matilda, Ryu, Ramba Ral, and Slagger Amuro was able to grow up into a pretty cool guy.
@mattmanganon Char's Counterattack completely disproved your point. Lalah flat out told Amuro that Char is pure. This is a clear indicator that she actually knows the stuff that goes through Char's mind, his intentions are for the best(even Seabook believes that Newtypes can understand each other when he meets his mom in F91) but his methods are extreme. In the final battle Char brought up Lalah, not Amuro and if we go by the novel(which rectons the movie b/c of Unicorn) most of Amuro's grief,
It's funny how people today complain about MSG's old animation but subtle things like the way Amuro turned to see Lalah for the first time were done so well.
lets face it, Lalah was a great big slut, she couldn't decide who she wanted more, Amuro or Casval, so, she tried to have them both. then in the end, she chose amuro (see Char's Counterattack for more details)
@mattmanganon she only a slut if she is stereotypical weak will latching woman and it involve sex. Amuro and Lalah relationship is platonic, meaning a strong friendship (no fucking sex) due to them both begin emerging newtypes whose ability can detect each other feelings and have better understanding of one another. To char lalah was like a motherfigure, revelating mentor, and maybe lover, while to Amuro lalah was a very good friend to him since they found compassion in one another.
@mattmanganon so in her position she don't want Char the man who she love and is thankful for saving her life, while on the other hand don't want a very good friend like amuro to die. If u want a gundam slut go check out fay from gundam seed.
whenever i watch this, it reminds me of jun jin oppa n shi young unnie. I hope the get bac 2gether. they still hav feelings 4 each other, they're juz working on their careers. Can't wait till they get back 2gether or they might not. I'm rly sad bcoz they're the best korean celeb couple 4 me n i think about them everyday. I got nightmares when they broke up.................
They kept this piece of music during Lalah and Amuro's Newtype Flash later in the film, as she is killed....this would provide a sort of continuity to that scene, interesting why Tomino decided to take the music out this time around....
have to say this is my favorite episode. Lalah is my favorite character but i wish theyre had been at least one romantic scene between her and amuro,.like a kiss or something. But this is a great episode and willow johnson who voiced her in english did a great job.
woah woah don't call char a pedo!! lalah was 17 in this while char was 20 so its not that bad only 3 years older then her and lalah isn't nasty she has this impressive aura about her i can't put my finger on it but i think i see why char and amuro are so drawn to her...
@megajonas question how would u describe this aura. I always wonder what the meaning behind Lalah and Amuros encounter. Are they the only two newtype that encounter each other and feel they might understand each other or what???
It didnt stop there either it also ripped off Gundam Wing and a little of Gundam X, The people in charge of creating SEED should be ashamed of themselves
Heero is right. SEED has its own story and mobile suits and didn't copy anything. The only ressemblance would be the way the main characters get dragged into war, but that's not enough to say that it copied. However, SEED Destiny ripped the hell out of the Universal Century with mobile suits, characters and story. The worst Gundam ever, for sure.
gundam seed was a remake of a remake, yeah it was different in a few ways but it was pratically gundam all over again except with prettier animation. Destiny was just a remake of another remake *cough, zeta gundam cough,*
is it me, or is this video suffering from Minosky inerference?

Ah. A great scene, and a 70's love song to go with it.
It also reminds me how much Gundam SEED 'borrowed' from the original MSG and changed things around. I swear the cabin is exactly the same in SEED.
ensignuraki 5 years ago
no offense but I think that they paid tribute to it, not borrowed so new generation fans can be able to experience some things from the original.
