first, who cares if you call it football or soccer, same game, same rules, different name in different countries to save confusion with other sports. second, it is not offside as has been mentioned due to the fact that ball was played by the opposition. the only thing that could possibly be a problem would be the player leaving the field of play and returning without the refs permission, but as it was not intentional, it would not be called.
