@Mike8901000 this is not true. if you have trained for years then it becomes reflex. i had a friend thought it would be a funny joke to wear a ski mask and come up behind me with a knife and within a second or two it was on his throat and he was gasping for air from the knee i put into his stomach to distract him. with enough training you will always have the upper hand. 3 steps gain control, distract, and redirect.

At that range your probably best going for his gun or attacking him with the butt end of your extendable baton. If he went for his gun he would have wasted to much time and probably got shot dead.
