  • Hey every one here in canada I like the song it is a good song I'm not from here though but it is a good song but I do live in canada now I used to live in italy

  • When I think of a "Saskatchewan pirate" I just think of a Roughriders fan.

  • Shut. The. Hell. Up. EVERYONE!

  • Hey Canadians, where's the snohomish river?

and even Americans aren't low enough to Google the answer.

  • @funlover163 you have no idea how wrong that is. I swear my friend will search anything that "sounds interesting" on google.

  • @SirShmoopy778

I was just poking fun at the 'American' argument comments.

And for anyone curious the Snohomish is a river in western Washington...

  • @funlover163 Washington....

  • I know the Saskatchewan River! I drive over it every day. =) I'd probably shit if I saw a pirate out my window though, I'm not gonna lie.

  • they sound so irish, oh well if you get us going all us canadians do at some point....

  • haha.. I fuckin love living in Saskatchewan... best place ever to live, with the best football fans in the world

  • GO SASKATCHEWAN!

  • Ye!!!

  • arr ya salty salmon :)

  • They live right here in regina

  • no they don't. they're from ontario

  • Oswego?

Well durn it all! heh - I know almost 2 years ago - but I didnt hear about the concert Then either!

I could have driven there, only about 90 minutes!

  • @Noleb12

I remember I asked some Americans if they've been to Alberta, they're like "We've been to Calgary, but not Alberta yet" It was all I could do not to laugh, that would be rude.

  • i don't think i cood hold back lmao!

  • Like any American's know what the River Saskatchewan is, or how this is even funny...

  • Some Americans have been to Canada, you know.

  • Why are none of the people in the video there, quite obviously American, laughing at the funniest parts? they're silent as Mute hell. :/

  • @IJest What the fuck is Canada?

  • @Siensane It's a country. You know, north of the US.

  • @twilightscribe The U what?

  • @Siensane The United States of America.

  • @twilightscribe I don't know what that is either. WHY ARE YOU SPEAKING SO CRYPTICALLY!?

  • @IJest We realize this, but to Saskatchewan? Not only that, but it's necessary to understand the culture and history of Saskatchewan to really understand the humor in the song.

An American certainly could understand, but let's be honest; most people just don't know WTF Saskatchewan is.

  • yes thats true. but i doubt any canadians know of the Wabash river or the Des Plaines river.

  • @SaitoChikara some americans spend an awful lot of time in canada. I think they're called canadians.

  • @SaitoChikara DUDE I'm not the only one who has visited the REALLY BIG country to the north of US, I get most of the references without googling them, and STILL think The Arrogant Worms are one of the BEST musical humor groups north or south of dah UP

  • @SaitoChikara Canadians ARE Americans, right along with United States'ers. We all live in North America, remember?

  • @zenfrodo No, there is a big difference. We dont drop bombs on Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan and British Troops.

  • @YouReadMyMind And that has to do with simple geographical facts how?

  • @zenfrodo It has nothing to do with it. I thought you would have got the humour in it lol (I was just poking fun at how American pilots killed Canadian allies), but how does geographical location have anything to do with it? so what if we live on the same continent? German people live in Europe along with France. Different cultures-same continent. Same thing in NA, Canadian and Americans have alot in common however there are some Big culture differences

  • @YouReadMyMind German & French people are all *Europeans* because they live on the continent of Europe. Canadians & US'ers are all Americans because they live on the continent of North America (and yes, Mexicans and anyone living in South America are Americans, too, for the same reason). It has nothing to do with countries, but geological continents. Go back and take your geography class.

  • @zenfrodo Ask any Canadian and they will say they are not American. You can call yourself American only because the Thirteen Colonies took the name of the area that was already America before they founded the US. Yankees believe that their neibour to the north likes you, but you should see what we really think of you (im holding back some very harsh words). Now of course we respect many aspects of the US and I even respect our relationship with you. But I do not like how arrogant the US is.

  • @YouReadMyMind I am majoring in Physical Geography and minoring in Human Geography at the UofS. The name North America and Europe is just a name given to a group of nations. They just needed a term to sum up all the countries in a specific area to make it easier to map out the world. The countries within these can be very similar and very different. Culture is a major factor. So Canadians are not Americans. We are Canadian because we live in Canada.

  • @YouReadMyMind Yep. Canadians are only 'American' the same way Mexicans, Chileans, and Brazilians are. All live in the Americas, aka the large land mass NOT connected to Eurasia-Africa that is NOT Australia or Antarctica.

  • @SaitoChikara - Hey bud, I'm American and I live in Saskatoon. :-p

  • @SaitoChikara I do....

  • No way! This is a Trevor original! I've seen them both sing it live and Captain Tractor's introduction to the song includes a disclaimer that Trevor's version is better!

  • Just back from a show (Brantford, ON), and I laughed my butt off. Great stuff. I've enjoyed their music for a long time, but this was my first chance to see them live. One member was missing due to the recent birth of his twins, but was very ably replaced by Mike Ford of the fantastic Moxy Fruvous. I'll post some videos some time soon.

  • omg! lucky! um ok i live in the lower part of england do they come to england and are they amarican or sumthin?

  • there canadian

  • kk ty

  • I'm American, but you guys write WAY better songs. Plus, your accents are way sexier and your men are cuter. It totally isn't fair!

  • We have accents?

  • everyone has an accent to some people, even in the same country, for example someone from the maritimes would have an accent to someone in the prairies

  • Good point.

  • Yup I moved from New Brunswick to Manitoba and they thought I sounded like a Cajun, their words not mine, but probably due to being a half french province and I live 10 minutes from the Maine border.

  • @esky15 everyone in the maritimes has an accent to EVERYONE

  • I've heard that we have accents, bu I have yet to hear it. :/

  • you do... i used to live in Saskatchewan, now im in Ontario. You have accents. It's funny whenever i visit sask and then come back i have the accent for weeks.

  • @pivotgurl I don't have much of an accent and I grew up in Sask.

I've traveled in the US quite a bit and people assume I'm from the American midwest, even people IN the American midwest.

  • @captain150

I was comparing it to my Ontario accent. EVERYONE has an accent, it's all depending on where you're from. Also, the American midwest accent in the same style of accent as the sask accent. So I can see where they would make the comparison.

  • @pivotgurl Fair enough. I misinterpreted your post. I thought you were claiming that accents in Saskatchewan were particularly unique or localized. But yeah everyone has accents.

I was just in California and I was chatting with a Texan. He somehow figured I was from New York. I have no idea how he figured that.

My cousin has lived in Australia for about 8 years and has picked up a subtle Aussie accent. It's really nice, I love Aussie accents.

  • the lack of audience interaction makes me mad. doing the "hey" "ho" air punch is my favourite thing to do in this song

  • Screw the GST! *Air-punch*

  • i'm so jealous of your dad and brother like you wouldn't BELIEVE!!!

  • I can't wait to move to Canada. :)

  • These guys are absoutly amazing.... But i haven't seen em for a couple of years now because they haven't came to my town for a little while............

  • Check out your local schedule. They are in Alberta in April I think it is. They are touring this year.

  • they're touring 9 dates in april, 3 in saskatchewan, 3 in alberta, and 3 in bc. check their website, it's all there.

  • it's their signature song. anyone who believes this isn't theirs has some screws lose. and some of you americans can't understand that canadians are capable of writing our own stuff and being extremely talented. i know i'm being a bitch about it, but i'm a huge fan of this band and have been for years and i get very defensive. sorry to people i've offended but it's the truth!

  • They played this at my elementry school at grad to high school back

  • i dont know what they are saying but it sounds kewl

  • lol salty salmon

  • i hate how little the audience interacts during the chorus. it's so much fun do the "ho!" "hey!" with the arm movement.

  • kickass. this song is sweet and the beat gets you going to which is nice. They are from a small town just outside yorkton arent they

  • They're from Kingston originally :)

  • I am from P.A. Sask. And I just saw these guys a few hours ago. I'm still so friggin pumped. It was an awesome show!!! They played this song before the encore :D

  • when i saw them the first time, this was the encore song! amazing band. great ab workout lol. i'm seeing them one week from today! so stoked!

  • it's such a great song before the encore. it brings everyone to their feet!

  • Te arrogant worms are brilliant.

  • "That's a hook."

    "Ooooooh."

    I love this song!

  • they did that at my show too.

  • I thought savy was spelled with like that ps the things you learn from retards who think there pirates

  • 13,000th view; congrats! :D

  • I wish that they would come to my stick of the woods. I love this group.

  • Imitation is the highest form of flattery . . . . . argggh!

  • This coming from a guy that talks like a pirate out of a disney movie. Autofail.

  • why is it insulting?are you a banker,or what the fuck?:))

  • What's insulting to you? O_o

  • He's a pirate. Must be!

  • I love the way they incite the audience to clap and then make fun of them when the music slows down! It's baiting, but fun.

  • they do that at every show. it's hilarious.

  • Okay, let me clear this up: I've never heard of the band (either Arrogant Worms or Captain Tractor) until a few days ago...even then it was a little unclear about who sang the actual song first. In other words, I had no clue what the band members looked like, so I assumed this was a FAN COVER of the song. There I've said what I wanted to now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to enjoy the videos not sit here and have ridiculous comment wars with people on youtube

  • From Captain Tractor wikipage:

The band's most famous songs have been... ...as well as a cover of the Arrogant Worms' "The Last Saskatchewan Pirate". This song has become so popular that many fans believe, wrongly, that it is of their own creation.

Get your facts straight, silly fans.

  • Awsome harmony, great cover of the song!

  • it's not a cover; the arrogant worms are the original authors of this song. Captain Tractor covered them not so long ago.

  • I didn't know it was them, I just barely found out about this song through a Pirate parody I found :) So whoever keeps negitive marking my comments, please stop, thanks very much! :)

  • they wrote this song!!!

  • And you have, What? Prince and Michael Jackson?

  • Thanks for sharing this! Saw them in NJ 2 weeks ago. They are even funnier live! Thanks Canada. They almost make up for Celine Dion & Bryan Adams. Almost.
