I always get so disoriented on the new Karkand. They reversed N and S on the map, and it feels so much smaller now. Though looking at the comparison I think that's just becuase the old haze made it seem much bigger than it was.

I Don't think graphics are going fucking anywhere at this point. They'll be as real as CGI, then it will flatline since the human eye can't discern above 80-100FPS.

EA has always wanted to attract the cod kids to their games ( for money ). they tried with MoH 2010 but it didn't work out too well, they went at it again with battlefield 3 and as you can tell they succeed.

I'm not the only person with this opinion, there's many people out there who are very disappointed with Battlefield 3. just because it has cool graphics doesn't mean it's a good game

Try to completely uninstall Punkbuster and then install it again, it helped me.

like i say i love bf2 bf3 is very good but dice need to work on getting the game user friendly at least make it so there are no problems connecting to servers

@UFOyourVUE Well, I haven't played BF2 (acltually, none of FPS at all), so I can't compare them correctly, but for me BF3 has only 2 stupid moments: knife physics, which works like once in three/four times (during CQB) and RPG/SMAW physics when you shoot at people. Everything else works just fine for me.

@kyleklaww Difference in color is a combination of time of day, and in BF2 I think that's supposed to be a sandstorm; two things the Frostbite 2 engine could easily do with enough petitions to get them to implement a server-chosen time of day for maps and a weather-change function. o.o; I'd love to play Operation Firestorm during a violent sandstorm or Gulf of Oman during a tsunami.

I used the MAV to get up on the tallest building and heard the Karkand song playing through an old speaker phone sort of sound.. never noticed it before lol. Don't know if you can hear it on the ground, maybe it's an easter egg when your on top of the building.

Battlefield 2 was much more dark and murky and at times, especially on Karkand. While Battlefield 3 made more of a light, and dirty. Which, I don't always want to be in a DARK, murky feel all the time. I love the new lighting, and how the whole map just feels. With new buildings be accessible to enter it makes the battle feel much more in-depth than when I was running through streets trying to get to the ally ways. Thank DICE for bringing back old memories!

what you might mean is "FOV" which is bigger in BF2 which means more stuff on screen to render compared to BF3

but i must say, BF3 has quite huge FOV for console game, usualy console games have extremely small FOV for rendering purposes but also to ease aiming.

@shotgunmasterQL While your point on the FoV is also valid, bigger guns are actually a trick used, because the engine doesn't have to directly render whatever is behind the gun. It's just a very small trick though. Console games usually do have smaller FoVs because of rendering etc, but also because you're generally further away from the actual screen. Unlike with a PC, where you're usually a meter or so away from it (which requires a larger FoV, or you might experience headaches etc.).

I am a little bit disapointed of BF3 remake. It's just like ..... a sandbox, everything is destroyable, there is no limitation where you can go. It's more realistic but imo less fun. Whitout sandstorm it's sniper paradise. With spawning on anyone from your squad is much more easy to attack. Nobody use mines. Old Karkand was pretty hard, there was military front, attack was difficult, you had just a few ways how to attack and attack on "backdoor" points was about teamwork. Now it's just a chaos
