Czechvar was just a name Budweiser Budvar came up with so they could legally sell it in the US and Canada, as part of their settlement with Anheuser Busch (even though BB is much older than A-B's Bud) in turn, A-B's Budweiser cannot be called "Budweiser" in Europe, and in the only place I saw it sold in Europe (Amsterdam) it was just called "bud"

Budwiser Budvar is known in North America as Czechvar. I love Czechvar, I made a few ads for it that i hope to get here on you tube soon.
Im sure Czechvar just translates to "Czech beer".

Czechvar in Canada they all sit in a little box and you buy one bottle for 2 dollars or whatever it is. On the side of the box it says "Czech Beer"

czechvar doesnt really mean anything in czech, var means brewing or boiling while pivovar means brewery so it's just a game with words..
