  • She sounds like she say's except for he's trying to go, not except for where he's trying to go, ahaha.

  • Man, what is the music in the background called? I really wanna know D:

  • UTAH FTW!!!! c: Yeah, I kinda live here!

  • they look really uncomfortable filming this.

  • Paris, France! I thought she was going to say Paris, texas. XD

  • he should do the roswell new mexico incident!

  • @HorrorMovieCollab they already did. wel...in an animated episode (or episodes) called Dreamland

  • NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO.

KEEP DR. WHO AWAY FROM THE U.S.A!

  • @1reeperproductions Hey now!!! We need an awesome show like this here! One of my new favorite shows.

  • @StupidityWalks to be honest im still confused no us broadcasting companies have ripped it off

  • oh for gods sake please keep the US away from Doctor Who

  • This trailer describes in detail why Steven Moffat is superior to RTD. Look at the background... the doctor is not in cardiff or in the powell state. In season 5 the doctor visited many different places as it should be when the series is about a traveller who can go anywhere in time. It appears that in season 6 like season 5 the stories will be in different places each one.

  • Ha! I was in Utah when they filmed this. Unfortunately, I was in NORTHERN Utah, and had no idea (was on vacation, visiting my big brother, and didn't know about it until 2 days after I left...)

  • i love the way matt spins around completely astonished.

  • The first time the Doc went to the US, he got shot within the span of a second and then the health care system killed him.

  • @ZaffireWolf actually the first time he went to the US the 1st doctor had a strange conversation with an American tourist atop the empire state building.

  • @childloverful

    Close, but its Eccleston.

  • It's a SERIES. Not a season.

  • @theMagicSquares Don't get upset, you have to understand our confusion: if you say 'series' in North America, people will think you're talking about all 31 series...season...things. Not to mention that classic Who was actually broadcast in seasons. :)

  • That's easy. season = series Episode = story or serial...they are not called serials anymore since they are no longer more than 2 or 3 parts long. I though that in america they called television programmes "show" not series.

  • @seploud True, they both have direct 'translations'. The problem is deciphering which one people are talking about. Like football: are they talking about Canadian/American football? Or are they talking about rest-of-the-world football? As for series and show, they tend to be used interchangeably. :P

  • Doctor, "I can go any place and any time,"

Amy, "Except where he's trying to go."

Doctor, "Everything that ever happened or ever will, Any time or place I just have to choose,"

Amy, "And then end up somewhere completely different."

    Doctor, "Can You-"

    Amy, "Sorry."

Doctor, "But now I have been in the most amazing place of all, Paris, France!"

    Amy, "America, In fact!"

*Doctor turns around, suprized, "I was gonna say America"*

    Amy, "Yeah..."

  • The trailer is funny. Amy is almost as defiant as Donna. The season looks good. Sorry matt smith but david tennant is better. At least matt is better than christofer eklson.

  • Wow... the actors and script writer really got let down by the cameramen and director on this one! Its so obvious he is an American desert. Why give away the punchline before he can start the joke? At least use the TARDIS as a backdrop before he can declare he is in Paris. Or start in the TARDIS and run out into the desert. Could have been so much better. Ends up just looking lame.

  • I love him

  • The idea is that they are in or around the area of Paris, Texas.

It's a joke based around the name of the location, as hinted at by Amy with her "Except where he's trying to go."

Less to do with the Doctor's absent-mindedness and more to do with the somewhat faulty TARDIS.

  • where did you download this? :)

  • I don't understand why they're going "Woo! I'm in America!" when this guy's been further away than Mars. Just doesn't cut it, really.

  • @Destro7000 Because the show went as far as Toronto ...and failed.

  • @LilRonin01 That's not what I mean. The Doctor in the storyline as far as I can see if going "Check it out, I'm in America!" when he's been to far more exotic places, so it's not much of a big deal. Pretty gimmicky, and I thought Stephen Moffat would be cleverer than this, considering he wrote Coupling!

  • @Destro7000 so? the doctor is always excited to be in a new place. or hell, any place at all.

  • America isn't that great a place...

  • @Kooskol Try telling a redneck that. Actually, don't. They might go nuts at you.

  • @7heAre7s Meh... They gotta face the facts at some point in thier life.

  • @Kooskol Again, try telling a redneck that. Them being the ones that scream abuse down your throat because they know they are wrong most of the time.

  • @7heAre7s rednecks arnt so bad, be nice to them they'll be nice to you, now for the eco freaks though. Just saying you use a nonnatural product or nonhybrid car can throw them into a fit.

  • @Twismyer Don't even get me started on eco hippies...even vegans as well. The people that flip out and go ape shit if they see a FAKE FUR coat, or see you eating crisp, or even having cheese, milk or eggs. Really, I don't understand some people at times.

  • "I was gunna sya America"

    "Yeah...."

    Lol. I love being Brittish

  • @Torak1998 *Sighs proudly*

Me too :) England has some of the best media there is (As well as other things), Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Primeval, etc.

  • lol at the crappy CGI TARDIS on the left...

  • @Dalek909 Actually, I believe that was an actual TARDIS prop, not CGI. The lighting was just weird, is all.

  • @saskabush2006 - Nope definitely added in tardis. You can see the lamp vanish for a few frames just before it goes off screen. Also, Amy looks pregnant.

  • @ProfSai agree on tardis not so much on amy looking pregnant.

  • Dr. Who is a British national treasure. They can't give it to America D:

  • At least its coming home to America...

  • @johncena101ist what the do you mean coming home to america, this show's from the UK

  • It was in America back in like 60's or 70's, forgot which time!!!!!!

  • @johncena101ist Coming home to America.

Its a british show its not America's and thats not its home its home is England ok

  • @AmyPondFAN30 actually they filmed episode 1++2 in america >:D.. and wales!

  • @imeshow Yes but its still a British show and not American.

I was'nt on about where it was filmed. In future read before you type ok.

    :D

  • Comment removed

  • @TheMarkRCS Oh wow. I'm not sure whether I'm pleased about that or not...

  • Lovelovelove!-3

  • Are you guys serious? Wow. This is probably why American's can't get into British television. It's a joke, number one. This Doctor is a little absentminded, more so than the others, and they're just trying to show his personality.

And yes that landscape is uniquely American. That's what other people picture. Cowboy hats and desert. Much like (we) Americans picture French people in berets with snooty accents and baguettes.

  • There was a badly animated David Tennant Area 51 serial called Dreamland (not canon) set in New Mexico and Nevada.

  • So, what was The Doctor looking at in front of him to make him think he was actually in Paris? lol.

  • @LilPrettyWonder On Earth he's mostly just used to the UK and he recognised that this wasn't it. He did go to Paris, France once. He's also been to Venice, New York and LA. So I guess he just picked one of those other places hoping it'd be right.

Or he felt under pressure to impress the patriotic (what he mistakenly thought were) French viewers and completely lost sight of the landscape around him. A weird breaking the fourth wall experience for him...

  • @LGD3 Lol. Poor absentminded Doctor! So brilliant and yet so silly!

I am excited to see the new series though. I met them when they were filming in Utah.

  • @LGD3 When did he go to la

  • @drwhomasterfan Apologies. It was San Francisco, CA. My mistake.

  • @LGD3 Oh, lets not forget that one time he was in a huge secret underground facility somewhere near Salt Lake City.

  • I'm surprised Amy knew it was America from that scenery. Does that look American? Is that how people from other countries picture America?

  • @CossetteDAuvergne It could be the fact that I grew up in southwestern US, but that does look very old west. especially with the hat.

  • @mg115ca With the hat, totally. But without the hat, I don't know that I'd look at that and think, "Oh hey, it's America" haha. It could be that the scenery where I live looks nothing like that, lol. I'm still impressed by Amy!

  • @CossetteDAuvergne No.. that's how people in other countries picture Monument Valley, Utah. Some people will also picture Nevada or New Mexico in much the same way. Thing about Monument Valley is that the landscape is uniquely American, at least in most people's minds (mine included).

  • @CossetteDAuvergne No it isn't the picture that comes immediately to mind when us non-Americans think of the US. But after all, it is pretty much common knowledge what the Utah dessert looks like.

  • @CossetteDAuvergne I'm Brirish and I don't, in fact, the way I picture it is completely different from that.

  • "But Now I've been to the most amazing place of all, Paris, France!"

    "America in fact!"

  • Looks like the start of a comedy show.

  • @KeeganEatsPie You make it sound like that's bad.

  • @w00master Well it wouldn't be Doctor Who if it was a comedy show. It's like having Scrubs become a sci-fi, it dosn't really match.

  • @KeeganEatsPie Doctor Who has been about a mixture of comedy, drama, horror, etc. So, this "trailer" isn't really anything new in terms of how Doctor Who handles comedy. At all.

  • @KeeganEatsPie Actually season 6 will be a horror show. There will be scenes so disgusting and so grotesque that few will be able to keep from vomiting and wondering how on earth moffat is allowed to keep his job. (His wife is one of the producers of the show thats why) WHY you ask? Well, just say that poor Matt is forced to kiss one of the ugliest nastiest looking women to contaminate the airwaves in decades. I assume he ran to his dressing room afterward to brush his teeth repeatedly.

  • lol. i wonder if its that one audio book......

  • this series will be great

i think the silence will be omiga

  • i was gonna say america

    yeahhh....
