everytime I go to an AMC theatre phones ring, people talk on them and people constantly check their phone screens and that light is very distracting - so these PSA's do no good as the hoodlums and gangsters always ruin every movie experience i ever go to anymore - maybe have special theaters reserved just for them?

there is nothing wrong with texting during a movie. At All. (just be sure to have your phone on silent first. )

That sort of thing annoys the crap out of me, and I'm glad some theaters are instituting a no-tolerance policy for cell phones and texting. Ads like this and the Alamo Drafthouse 'she texted, we kicked her out' one are funny, but sometimes it doesn't work.

Its not like talking, it bothers no one else. if you dont like it, then feel free to leave, or find another seat. Or, pay attention to the movie you most likely paid to see.

@squirreludecker I work at a theater. When I make my rounds during my shifts, and if someone keeps texting after the trailers, I go in there and give them a warning. If I catch them again, I get the manager or staff leader to boot them out w/o a refund. It's incredibly rude and every movie theater should enact this policy. You're not going to die without texting during a 2 hour movie, so be courteous to your fellow patrons.

@mcjwserenity i Dont text, but i will personally raise hell if anyone tried to kick me out of a theater for texting. it would be their worst and quite possibly last mistake. What amazes me is how you fail to see how Rude it is for telling someone (most likely out loud) to not do something that is perfectly acceptable to do anywhere else. but maybe when you get out of your teens, youll see things differently.

My theater is right across from our police station and if you came in and caused a ruckus because you were texting -- I would bring in the police to kick you out. People are paying for the privilege of seeing a movie, not just you. Movie theaters aren't your house, and respect your fellow patrons. If you absolutely have to text at the theater, go into the lobby or bathroom and do it. Just don't do it in the auditorium.
