it's sort of weird watching these old documentaries, made before some things that we take for granted today, like that majority of dinosaurs were warmblooded, and heavily related to birds, were only speculations.
Yeah!! There were 4, and I liked the one where they spoke about the relationship between birds and dinosaurs, althourg I also got very frustrated because I always found it very confusing that the BIRD-ancestors were the SAURISCHIANS dinosaurs and the ones that had nothing to do with the evolution of birds were the ORNITHISCHIANS. That was really confusing
@MsTommyknocker oh wow. I did not know that. my dinosaur knowledge has seriously declined in the last 15 years. I still see dinosaurs in my dreams all the time. how old were you when you liked them?
Mainly the early birds maniraptorans and chirostenotes, Sinosauropteryx, Archaeopteryx, compsognathus and of course Deinonychus. You know it's funny, because birds evolved from small sauriscian dinosaurs, nobody gives a crap about dinosaurs like triceratops or Edmontosaurus
This is the best Dinosaur Documentary I have ever watched so far. It was a real educational classic compares to all the reenacted fake digital dino that lose its sense of originality nowadays. I have been searching this for long. Thanks.
I really loved this series, particularly its ability to be entertaining without resorting to the sensationalism that plagues too many dino-themed specials these days (i.e. anthropomorphizing dinosaurs, focusing the "killer" species, etc.)
Thanks for uploading this. Any plans to make the other three episodes available?
I owned the 4-part series on tape. I probably watched them hundreds of times.

@MsTommyknocker what. but I thought that the evidence pointed to birds haveing come from theropod dinosaurs?
mamushi72sai5575 8 months ago
Yes exactly: All theropod dionsaurs were saurischians, including Archaeopteryx. Saurischian means "Lizard-hipped"
