  • well honestly...what did gnr do before 1986?....exactly....all their success came after 1986...and his voice sucks... very little singing.. a lot of screeching

  • Fantastic! Love this song and love this version!

  • Yeah, a guy from Lafayette, IN who spent his formative years in dives about los Angeles can probably scrap...Bitch. have another one you drunk bastard.

  • Towne Van Zandts version is my personal favorite.

  • this is not from a G N R album its form Gilby Clarks solo cd pawn shop guitars

  • and if Asshole rose tried to kick my ass he would have a bad day... I work for a living swinging a hammer... I would crush his fucking skull like a twig... Excuse me for not being scared of someone that does not have scars and calluses on their hands... when asshole has softer hands than my wife... why should I be scared?

  • @etrius24 cause your wife might like soft hands...

  • Fuck the reviews of his latest concerts.. He came to a town where I live... I listened to the concert on audio and it sucked donkey balls. Asshole rose has no voice left ( not that he ever had much to begin with )... you can download some of his concerts of late and they are terrible.... lots of backup singers and Asshole is almost whispering... no voice left in him... he could never really sing... just scream... but he cannot even do that anymore.

  • @etrius24 i disagree, listen to some of GN'Rs stuff from 86. before he had the problem with his voice he needed surgery to fix. his vocals are amazing. also on the songs he doesn't screech on, from UYI (it is a screech, not a scream) his singing is pretty good. although i completly agree with you on his singing today, he sucks badly. plus hes let himself go now...

  • This is a horrible version. Yeesh...

  • Slash is a great guitar player.. but Asshole rose cannot sing a fucking lick. He could scream and whine but he had about zero singing ability... The band also lacked any real depth when it came to writing... Which is why they burned out fast...Asshole Rose fell off the earth after the band broke up... Slash was great in Velvet Revolver.. he will always have work because he has some legit talent. Rose is worthless... was then and is now

  • @etrius24 your a fucking IDIOT I wish AXL would kick your ASS!!! read the reviews Axl is back and better than ever. ASSHOLE!!!!!!!

  • Pawnshop was not a very well produced album but this recording was probably the product of a jam session where they said hey lets record this! Not a bad job at all

  • Not bad but Poison did it better on their Poison'd album..just my opinion, love GNR though

  • GnR...is such a great band....wish axle wasent such a douch.

  • @sherman6972 HIS NAME IS AXL YOU IDIOT!!!

  • Of course this is Gnr! it´s from gilby´s album, and slash was there!!!! NOT IN THIS SONG BUT IN "TIJUANA JAIL". ANOTHER GREAT SONG.

  • I actually like this version better than the original...

  • I think this is a good version of the song.

  • This is from Gilby Clarke's Solo album Pawnshop Guitars. Axl Rose does background vocals and piano

  • dear Lord, this is awefullll

  • This is NOT from the Clarke album - its from a movie sountrack - I think its the vampire movie with Cruise.

  • @LakeWorthReggie The Townes Van Zandt version was in a movie and it was called The Big Lebowski. Why don't you go to Wikipedia, look up Gilby Clarke, go to Pawnshop Guitars and look at the track listing. It will state: 8. "Dead Flowers" (featuring Axl Rose) (Jagger/Richards) – 4:13

  • @LakeWorthReggie GNR did a cover of the Rolling Stones' song "Sympathy For the Devil" for the movie you referred to, which was Interview With A Vampire.

  • Townes**

  • This sucks. A disgrace to towns!

  • this is NOT GnR... Axle's a fag ne wayz

  • not guns sorry

  • sorry but GnR totally fucked this one up ... as they did with allmost every song they covered ... Stones version is great but Townes Van Zandt definetly made the most stunning version of this Song ... hearing Axls squeaky "gotmyballscutoff"-voice singing "take me down little suzie" allmost made my ears bleed ...

  • when was this recorded by guns? No slash right?

  • Good version.

There's not a better band on Earth more qualified to cover classic Stones.

  • @tonypap1 Check out some Black Crows covers. They'll cover stuff the Stones don't try live.

  • That girl at 2:02 in the song is so hot. I love that picture.

One of the hottest pictures ever.

  • This is Gilby Clarke's solo recording on his album Pawnshop guitar....axl is on backing vocals.

  • it's all good, it's not a contest....

"Take it for what it is!" - Axl (Used to Love Her)

"Lighten up, Francis!" - Sgt. Hulka (Stripes)

  • Its cool that GnR digs the Stones, they have good taste!

  • Stones or dead.

  • its gilby not gnr

  • I think so too.

  • I'm pretty sure this is a Gilby Clarke recording with Axl on harmonies, instead of an actual GnR recording.

  • Well its obvious where they got their inspiration for ''used to love her'' :P

  • Gawd that's an ass-rape of a great song. They should be imprisoned.

  • This is... surprisingly amazing. Of course, G&R are incredibly talented, but this is a very unexpected pleasure. Unlike the Sympathy cover (which is good in its own right), this song actually does the Stones' version justice. Well played.

  • written by the stones for those who don't know. none the less' a great cover

  • Oh my Fucki' God, this song is Fuckin' amazing!!! :D

  • Comment removed

  • Actually it might be, sincere apologies to the original poster, I jumped the gun. Sorry mate.

  • THIS IS NOT GUNS, WHY?

  • 2 guitarist and neether can cover a Mick Taylor solo

  • love gnr cover

  • a bunch of talentless douchebags.

  • the stones made it much better originally and guns and roses is just a bunch of talentless faggots

  • @zodsnoochieboochies of course the stones original is better. as for GN'R being talentless as soon as you relese the best selling deput album of all time, get back to me...

  • @GNRDisturbedSlash Van Zandt's cover of this song is miles better than the Stone's original.

  • @GNRDisturbedSlash

The only thing I have to say is it's "release" and "debut", but apart from that, you're bang fucking on, son!

Not a massive GNR fan, but fuck me they've recorded some tunes.

  • @llanbo lol thanks, i was pretty sure i had spelt those word wrong but i was, well w.e

  • @GNRDisturbedSlash

JESUS...... did some idiot say that GNR are "talentless"???

My God...... one born every minute eh??

  • @tonypap1 ye, it bugs the shit outa me when i see comments like his

  • @GNRDisturbedSlash How true. Only talented and smart people ever make it big in America. Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, and George W. Bush are just 3 shining examples of this theory.

  • @GreatMooglyGoogly fair enough, but Guns N'Roses was one group near the end of where actual talent was required to make it big, also i dont think george bush, a politiction, applies to a comment about music. my point was is that Guns was far from talentless and were a fantastic group and one of last 'Rock God" groups and, many of the classic big groups, such as the stones and aerosmith liked the band and approved of their work. Axl had a voice no one could ever do

  • @GreatMooglyGoogly and so the style is less popular and now people constantly make disapproving comments about it. however when GN'R were big Axls voice was a major hit. Izzy was a great songwriter and rythem and down to earth person. Duff was cool and had a great stage personality. and Slash was a blues style guitarists playing Hard Rock, which resulted in Hard rockin songs with a soul full solos. there is not one song the classic/UYI line ups put out that i dislike except my world which wasAxl

  • @GreatMooglyGoogly however im am willing to accept that every person has their own prefrences, but sarcastic and rude comments are not needed, and clearly i like to ramble, so to wrap this all up, i also would like to take note that modern music has deminished in quality greatly and only a few bands with talent remain, such as Rise Against IMO. also if you support noochis comment, i in turn ask you to show your better talent

  • @GNRDisturbedSlash The original is actually Townes Van Zandt. The stones covered it too.

  • @JustinMT1987 wrong, the song was written by Mick jagger, and keith richards. the song made its debut on the rolling stones album Sticky fingers. however the song has been widely covered by Townes Van Zandt, this cover is by Gilby Clark, with Axl on backup

  • @GNRDisturbedSlash I don't disagree with you, but just because something sells doesn't mean it took talent to make. Take pop "music" for example.

  • @RotnRoll77 i addressed that point to someone else a few months back. except they were an asshole about it. but the reason pop sells is cause its pushed by the media and record companys. GN'R basically had to crawl up to the top. when they did get big, they diserved it.

  • it´s gilby with axl. not shannon hoon.

  • Liking the seventh work on the joanna.

  • Chord progression sounds like "Used To Love Her"

  • this is gilby clarke

  • i like this. it's a good cover done in true gnr style w/out butchering a classic stones tune

  • This song is from the album of Gilby Clarke!!!

  • @coupetorino Dude are you high :))

  • @MayChild8

    you knoooo it :)

  • @coupetorino actually it is from the rolling stones, not gilby clarke

  • OK cover of a great toon. If you are a fan of this song, you should see this version, watch?v=vKOAryfQSqo

This is what a cover of this song should sound like.

  • that's Shannon Hoon (R.I.P.) of Blind Melon singing harmonies.

    WORD!

  • Comment removed

  • ¿? It´s in Gilby Clarke CD.... not rare...

  • 24 pieces of shit.. let's clean!

  • This isn't gunners but that is Axl singing ,this is Gilby Clark solo project

  • I here axl's voice

  • Gilby Clarke ft. Axl Rose

  • it's not GNR, this song from Gilbi solo record in the CD "pawn shop guitars", recorded in 1994

  • this is not axle rose for a fucking second

  • @watcher18893 Axl sings some parts!

  • this is from gilby's solo record

  • I can picture Keith nodding in the cellar,Wyman too(from boredom)Charlie from depression or whateva da hell he's got,, and Mick I can picture slumped over after hours of calculating who he can screw and who he can screw out of money.. But not Axl.Time has proven Mr. Rose to have been a sham, a fakir in the grand tradition. Perhaps he will hire a live in therapist..ala Brian Wilson, and emerge from the sandbox, Great song...shitty recording...

  • Pretty sure this is the version from the gilby clarke pawnshop guitars album.

  • Neat version. I like the Keith and Willie Nelson version better. Listen to the tune and I think it would be tough to argue that Keith Richards wrote it

  • Nirvana is NOT better than GNR.If you think so you're a alternative fag. Thanks and go fuck yourself.

  • townes did this song justice but this is fucking horrible my fav stones song and this is just terrible

  • At least they don't turn it into a typical country "My woman left me song"... Which it most certainly isn't..

  • i would have said that this was the only cover gnr does that i don't get mad at them for ruining the original song, until i heard the backing vocals in the chorus...

  • I can't believe that faggot axel stole that song

  • Cool version with Gilby Clarke on vocals.

  • shitty version... just listen the real one by the stones...

and understand that gun's of roses can try to be rockn roll but will never be.

  • @Tysmeli What are you talking about? By the late 80's Guns n Roses were the only thing rock and roll had going for it. The whole rock scene was shitty pop rock, and hair bands. I'll agree that the stones original is better. I would not say this is shitty. But i can't understand why you would say that guns n roses isn't rock and roll, Guns is the reason i even play rock n roll.

  • @thezombiebrew and then Nirvana came along and made em look like gay pirates :P

  • @GaryGuitarz93 If you see gay pirates, its only because YOU are looking for them. Fag.

  • @blastingcaps Ouch... some guy on the internet called me a fag how will I ever sleep at night knowing that someone I've never met is debating my sexuality...boohoo

  • @GaryGuitarz93 Hey dont worry dat guys been talked to....now get some rest...its all ok

  • @carol01ctt that made me lol

  • album that this version is from. pawnshop guitars by one gilby clarke, gilby is singing with back up vocals from axl rose, and it aint rare

  • It was written by the stones for their '71 album and not covered by van zandt til '93. fact.

  • @barhippy Wrong. Van Zandt wrote it.

  • @CRUDEFINDER But roadsongs didn't come out til 94, sticky fingers came out in '71... with Jagger/Richards writing credits on it? i'm not starting an argument but i can't find an earlier version than '71... have you? what album did Van Zandt originally have it on if it weren't roadsongs?

  • @CRUDEFINDER What album was it on? I know it was on Roadsongs which came out in '93/'94 but can't find a Van Zandt version earlier and my copy of sticky fingers (from '71) has writing credits to Jagger/Richards

  • @barhippy You are correct. I was wrong about who wrote it.

  • @barhippy

Dead Flowers is definitely the Stones' original... but it is worth noting that Townes started covering it live by the late 70's. There are bootlegs out there from that period with the song on it.

  • @nilradem

Coolio, I'll check them out, cheers :)

  • @barhippy TVZ the stones wrote it and I love the stones but I still think TVZ's version is the best, this GNR version BLOWS and I do like GNR they released some awesome songs but this is not one of them....this is a totally shitty cover of a great song.

  • holy shit u ppl never quit do u a year ago u complained about the jonas brothers and now ur complaining bout beiber. i dont like them either but seriously ur actin like ur their biggest fan some ppl like them others hate them get over it and take some fucking relaxing pills all that matters is that this song is good gilby with axl = god

  • ONLY ROCK N ROLL IN MY MIND.

  • What is "RARE" about a song that you can buy on an official Virgin-Records-CD in any CD-shop?

  • is duff singing in this song????

  • rip Townes Van Zandt he was the writer of this song

  • Questo pezzo è di Townes Van Zandt

  • Listen this, then listen "Fuego" from Intoxicados .. :P

  • @viggivideos comparar al Pity con AXL es muy polemico vieja

  • @neomf ya sé pero es parecido loco

  • Sigh. I air guitar'd as much as any of you back in the 80's, but sorry, GnR could never approach the brilliance of the Stones. Frankly, they didn't even have a template to sound, look, and act the way they did without the Stones. So get over your teenage fantasies and quit proclaiming the purveyors of saccharine to in any way compare to the sugar shack itself. And for the record, yes, Stones song from Sticky Fingers that is without a doubt an homage to the sublime aesthetic of Townes Van Zandt.

  • This is from Gilby Clarke's solo album 'Pawn Shop Guitars'. Which i think is the best album any of the members did solo after GnR.

    .

  • Que merda!!! Fuderam c/ a música!!!

  • Why all the hate losers? Great song Townes is my Fav. You all should eat a dick if you have time to argue over this trivial shit.

  • It was written for Gram Parsons by Keith and Mick. Townes did a great take also. A wonderful song. Axl and them do a great justice also and it's just a great song to hear... Would love to hear it done by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Just a thought.

  • @Stumbler1able I don't typically like Guns 'n' Roses, but this is a nice cover of the tune. This is one of the first songs I learned on guitar. It's a good rockin' tune in D, like this version, and it's a nice homey cowboy tune in C, like Townes would typically play it. A nice simple three-cord ballad, the heart of rock & roll.

  • this is pawnshop guitar with axl rose colaboration

  • this is not GNR .

  • @AUSSIEMATE84

its from GNR but gilby clarke is singing ;)

  • They played this song in some concert.. i think in paris in the ´90

  • hes is right it is from Gilbys pawnshop guitars.i have the cd

  • You mean this isnt the bieber beaver? my world is crushed, wait till i tell rodney

  • Only homosexuals with identity issues listen to this band.

  • @12stringsforme fuck you! moron! you can listen to your own bullshit like lady gaga n justin beaver! no one ask you to come here listen and give bullshit comment! Axl Rose is real man not some fucking putas like lady gaga and justin beaver. and Gun N Roses was the best rock band ever!!

  • @LyonLee84 Well if I did listen to any of that crap you would be right . . . but you're wrong. Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck and Howlin' Wolf are more my brand. Like I said, anyone who actually likes Axel Rose must be some kind of queer. Which you are, only you can't admit it. Who would actually go on stage in women's underwear is strange.

  • the intro sounds like I Used To Love Her

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah!!!!!

  • It's not Gn'R... That's a music from the Pawn Shop Guitars, from Gilby Clark!!

  • @ 2:00 is the best

  • WTF!!??

  • this is hands down. a horrible song and a horrible cover.

  • That sucks. pop singers

  • This version has none of the beauty Townes' version did. It shouldn't be a rock and roll song

  • I thought Townes van Zandt wrote it too but alas its a Jagger/Richards song

  • QUE BUEN TEMA LA PUTA MADRE !!!! GRANDES ROLLINGS AND GUNS !

  • TOWNES VAN ZANDT Wrote It!!!!!!! Look It Up!!!!

  • @mrgregory121 read the first line of the 'dead flowers' wikipedia page...

Townes did a brilliant version, but he did not write this song

  • @mrgregory121 Or not.

  • Fun and easy going despite the lyrics. I love this song. It's always good when Axl sings along with somebody else. His characteristic voice stands out.

  • towne van zandt

  • i can see axl in the mixing like "up up up" haha. these are not really "background" vocals. who cares hes awesome haha.

  • It´s Gilby and Axl singing together.

This song was written by Mick and Keith.

But in 1993 Guns n´ roses played the best version i´ve ever heard!

    i prefer alive!

    Guns n´ roses rocks!

  • Regarless, its a good tune !

  • rolling stones didnt write it townes van zandt did and its the best version ever ya stupid idiot retards.

  • @PVD1989 c'mon boy, just listen Sticky Fingers by the Stones 1971!!!

  • @PVD1989 Mick Jagger and Keith Richards wrote this song, 1971 'Sticky Fingers' was the album. Van Zandt covered it, very nicely I think, for his 'Roadsongs' album out in 1993. Both the Stones version and Van Zandts are good but different.

  • @PVD1989 simply wrong. Stones famously wrote it in1971, Van Zandt covered it in maybe 1993. Who is the retard?

  • @PVD1989 ~ Might wanna do some research on that one, man. Obviously you have a pc...google it.

  • @PVD1989 Yeah. Stupid idiot retards. Huh huh huh huh huh.

  • rolling stones didnt write it townes van zandt did and its the best version ever

  • Poison did a pretty good version of this song as well.

  • This song is from the Stones Album Sticky Fingers.

  • truly great classic from The Rolling Stones, and gilby clark do a cover in the nineties.

  • axl's background vocals are dynamite

  • This is definetly a Stones song

  • I Like this music with Jerry Lee Lewis and Mick JAGGER

  • This doesn't even sound like GN'R

  • Whoever wrote it, it's the same tune as I Used To Lover Her. Especially the intro.

  • @JumpingTomato guns took the tune from the stones there arent enough chord progressions to go around

  • @GoldenAgeYola Lucky the Stones didn't took the tune from anyone...

  • @JumpingTomato You are both wrong. It was an old tune written/performed by Townes Van Zandt. I love when people act like know it all's on the internet.

  • @CRUDEFINDER You do realize I was being sarcastic right

  • Ok.. have to say this is not my favorite version.. He may not have written it, but Townes' version is still my favorite..
