depends on what you are using... if your shaft on the gun is too thick and you hit the fillet its gonna blow it up. mainly aim for the head so you can have a clean fillet or use a thinner shaft. is the sushi for yourself? because it is illegal to sell speared fish.

@dafranx for spearfishing for sushi u have to select the right species, although most people will take flesh from anywere but the spear hole on any fish. but for best results through the gills and quick knife to the brain = pro sushi
