Education they got involved in. Immediatly tuitions went thru the roof. In the 50's, it was 300 dollars for a semester. now kids graduate owning 200,000 dollars...all thanks to govt involvment. There was two former CBO actuaries on ForaTV a while ago and they had a simple solution to the Medicare:
Retirees with income 100k-200k would pay additional money on a sliding scale
and 200k and above would pay full cost of the premium.
They crunched the numbers and said it would go a long way to solving the medicare problem
I don't remember the details but it was on Fora.
