@CrankCase08 I don't think he means changing around the actual pipes as that wouldn't really be possible, however if the organ keyboard was electrically wired to the pipes he could have easily changed around the wires so that when each key is pressed it would make the sound come from the wrong pipe :)

@616typhoon Pipe church organ keyboards are not wired electrically, it's all mechanical. The only electrical device would be the air pump.

@CrankCase08 : There are 3 ways in which pipe organ keyboards function. Originally, pipe organs were entirely mechanical action ("tracker action") with direct mechanical connection between each key and the pallet that blocked the airway to each pipe. For a short time, pneumatic action was used, but was given up because it was very slow acting. Nowadays, most pipe organs are electric action, with a switch beneath each key that activates a solenoid valve under each pipe.

@henrykarl1945 I'm aware of that, but Allen said he changed the organ pipes when he was no more than a young teenager at a public school, and that is not an easy job to accomplish. Even Clarkson (albeit timidly) mentioned that it's a major job. And even if he did manage to do it, how would his guilt be discovered? He is either a fantasist (I've met a few those) or an outright liar. In line with his ludicrous assertion that borstal was the best of all his schools, he's faking a bad boy image.

@616typhoon : No, it would be very easy to switch around pipes that are in the same size range: you just lift a pipe out of the rack and switch it with another pipe close in size. Switching the wires around would be a LOT more complicated and far less accessible.
