I have the same camera but i cant have such great quality. First i thought that kit lenses are a real trash, but even when i used DT 35mm F1.8 i still didnt have it...
sony doesnt have poor lenses, they actually have some of the best lenses ever created including the old line of minolta, as well as CARL ZEISS the best lenses on the market ;)
@dexteronfire1 lol I wouldn't worry about it. If you'd waited and got the A55, something newer and perhaps better would have come out right after anyway. lol Seems to be the trend when it comes to electronics. Hopefully, you're at least content with the A500. :-)
I am willing to get the a55, a33, or a560 in the next days, and I love al the tests videos I see with them. But I live in a place with a 40 C degree temp, so, is it true, these cameras overheat really fast? Can I get any of these? Or will it be a mistake?
Just got a a55 and was wondering if there is a huge difference between MP4 and the full HD (AVCH..whatever), are they both the same fps? Mp4 is easer to use in editing for me.
@dtdw1988 Sony's SAM (smooth auto-focus motor) is surprisingly quiet and fast. The very inexpensive big aperture prime lenses such as the 50mm f/1.4 macro and the 35mm f/1.8 with SAM is a really good deal. Really really good deal.
The SSM motor in the G-series lenses is faster by no means. But the price difference in HUUUGE.
@KISSAproductions First of all its not 60p its 60i. And then please tell us that since your name implies something with production that you do know the difference. And then tell us how it really doesn't matter whether the camera has 60i, 60p, 30p, 25p or 24p. Its actually really pointless shooting in anything else than either 60i, 60p or 30p simply because in post production you can convert the framerate down with no loss of image quality. YouTube broadcasts in H.264 30p rendering 24p pointless!
@mYOzZyKaT Hi. No need to be bitter. Yes, it has 60i and it doesn't have 60p like I already said. That means no slo-mo. How can you convert the framerate that easily from 30 to 24 without losing 6 frames?? Sorry, I don't know, if you do, please tell, thanks. I have tried a55 and t2i at a store, they feel quite different.
@KISSAproductions You obviously do not know what the "60i" stands for or how interlaced video be de-interlaced in postproduction using the simplest video editing software. Your comment on no slow motion is just pure nonsense.
And its not like they just cut 6 random frames out to fit the 24p format from 30p...LOL..
Why dont you just start reading just the most basic stuff. And you obviously havent tried anything in a store because the t2i is called the 550D in your part of the world.
@bryan50rogers That's true. What I really liked about Sony was autofocus, multiframe nr/twilight mode - really useful, sharp images and vivid colors, also Sony's auto mode which showed up to be way better than Canon's. Other features come in handy too. Canon didn't auto set red color correctly and kind of over exposed. I was shooting inside the store. On the other hand, Sony still lacks manual settings in video mode... So it's a tough choice, I'd say... Waiting now for a7x to clear things up :)
@KISSAproductions- My T2i Shoot great pics and video that's for sure, but I don't see myself giving up the Sony HD video cameras in favor of SLR's anytime soon.

great video quality, but it feels a little laggy. Not enough fps. Or is it just on youtube and original footage was fast?
