Best place to live. I've lived in TX, CA, WI, NY and NJ, nothing beats Fort Lauderdale, trust me. The only bad part is too many crimes these days.

Where is WI? That's the best state in the country - the nicest people and the cleanest air, the least crowding and the smallest number of rank assholes. The rest, I see your point. I know the Florida people are fine - but I cannot imagine living in a rat's maze like this - endless cookie-cutter suburban spirit-sapping awfulness as far as the eye can see. Like Alpharetta, or Arvada.

L-1011's are cool, but in my opinion it makes more sense to use an MD-88 or a 737 on this route

Depends on load factor. ATL has one of the highest O&D traffic in the world. Makes more sense if you have 400 people flying back and forth to FLL to do it with one L1011 versus 3 MD88's.
