dont take this the wrong way because i like imports as much as domestics but domestics have been at this power level for awhile, heck the early 00's mustang guys where slapping twin turbos on there supercharged mustangs(leaving the sc's on) and making 1000+ hp with no other mods, new zr1 makes 650hp stock, and i know several people running gms lsx block that are pushing past 2000hp rating(highest i personally know is 2420hp on e85 with twin turbos and 454 cubic inchs) but the r35 is great.

and btw for any engine no matter what the peak number is i would want to see the dyno, if peak is 800hp but average is only 500 then thats weak.(ive seem cars making 800 peak hp but only run 11's in a 3000 lbs chassis and ive seen 500hp cars with better average power run high 9's in a 3000 lbs chassis.) thats why im going supercharger and twin turbos with the 427 lsx im gona build lol

Also the GTR is relatively new, give it a few years and ide imagine there will be a few 1500-2000hp ones around especially as second hand ones get cheaper.

mayby so but even though they make about the same power per litre, the bigger engine makes about four times the average power as these smaller engines. It just comes from how the engines are built, i see this engine maxing at about 1300-1400hp tops, the car might be new but the engine has been out for years and thats what the professional racers are making. the 2000hp cars i was referring to are street driven. even when they hit that power level the only make like 250-500 hp under 7k rpms

actually they have, the block has reinforcements to ensure they dont have to worry about any warrentys but its not different, the valve is just a port version of the 350z head and the internals are just a bore and stroke. its the same engine though just bored and stroked like i said and yes nissan has said that. and outlaw 10.5 being rare? its the biggest damn class in the united states hell theres 80 cars in my area alone and we only have about 200 people show up weekly between racers AND

The VR engine is a 3.8 L V6 piston engine from Nissan. The engine is the product of further development of the widely successful VQ engine series, in particular drawing experience from the JGTC racing engines as well as Nissan's VRH engines from vehicles such as the Nissan R390 GT1.

Read the second sentance, further development of the vq engine, aka slightly thicker engine block, bored and stroked and tt. thats right off an interview that one of the import magazines had with nissan

The list you gave of what done to the VR is enough it cant really be compared to the VQ's anyway in terms of how much potential power they can make.

And i looked more into your outlaw 10.5 cars too, what a joke. When i said production based i also ment with the block the car came with, most of them have completely aftermarket engines from the block to the heads.

Hardly what i call a production engine and so further proves my point there arent many 2000hp production V8's.

on the vq and vr engines the parts are 90% interchangable. and by your own statment yah outlaw cars might be only .1% of v8s in the entire world but that also counts diesels and trucks, in MODIFIED v8 engines since we are only talking about modified engines the number above 2000 hp is more like 60-70% with about 20% under that number and 10% over the 3000hp rating now how many v6's make over 1600hp?
