dude that sounds like its about to fall apart, sueakin and rattlelin like the pulleys are about to break. lets put a cammed Z06 with exhaust beside a lets compare the ricer to true muscle
dont take this the wrong way because i like imports as much as domestics but domestics have been at this power level for awhile, heck the early 00's mustang guys where slapping twin turbos on there supercharged mustangs(leaving the sc's on) and making 1000+ hp with no other mods, new zr1 makes 650hp stock, and i know several people running gms lsx block that are pushing past 2000hp rating(highest i personally know is 2420hp on e85 with twin turbos and 454 cubic inchs) but the r35 is great.
and btw for any engine no matter what the peak number is i would want to see the dyno, if peak is 800hp but average is only 500 then thats weak.(ive seem cars making 800 peak hp but only run 11's in a 3000 lbs chassis and ive seen 500hp cars with better average power run high 9's in a 3000 lbs chassis.) thats why im going supercharger and twin turbos with the 427 lsx im gona build lol
LOL are you forgetting alot of those engines are twice the size?
Also the GTR is relatively new, give it a few years and ide imagine there will be a few 1500-2000hp ones around especially as second hand ones get cheaper.
mayby so but even though they make about the same power per litre, the bigger engine makes about four times the average power as these smaller engines. It just comes from how the engines are built, i see this engine maxing at about 1300-1400hp tops, the car might be new but the engine has been out for years and thats what the professional racers are making. the 2000hp cars i was referring to are street driven. even when they hit that power level the only make like 250-500 hp under 7k rpms
LOL 4x the power? a 2000hp Production engine based V8 is pretty rare let alone anything more then that.
Engine been out for years? Umm no, GTR is the only car its in so its been out like 2 years. Similar in other Nissans but not the same.
And while its basically a guess as they are completely different, considering there are a couple of old RB's making around 1600hp ide bet they will get more from the VR. The alloy block maybe the thing that limits it though.
dude your kidding right? 2000 hp is the norm for outlaw 10.5 and guess what the gm guys run? the general motors performance part lsx block or the warhawk aluminum version both the same exact v8 that general motors converted to in 1998 just with more material in certain areas to run bigger displacement. onto the gtr engine yes it has been out for years. Its called the vq35 that is in countless nissan cars the only difference between it and the gtr engine is its bored and stroked to 3.8L and tt
and since your last comment made it apparent that you know nothing of actual engine specifics(hell you said so yourself that it was "basically a guess they are completely different") all the 350z racers have been using bored and stroked vq35's(btw heres something you probably dont know the 35 number means 3.5L same as 38 means 3.8L for the gtr since your guessing instead of knowing). Know what the displacement is after they bore and stroke them?
holy crap 3.8L!!!! the only difference is most of them use a single large turbo instead of two smaller ones, the same thing that gtr users will be doing when they are going for "big power" however if you where to put the twin turbos on the bored and stroked vq35 it would be the exact same engine nissan has even commented that these are the only differences
actually they have, the block has reinforcements to ensure they dont have to worry about any warrentys but its not different, the valve is just a port version of the 350z head and the internals are just a bore and stroke. its the same engine though just bored and stroked like i said and yes nissan has said that. and outlaw 10.5 being rare? its the biggest damn class in the united states hell theres 80 cars in my area alone and we only have about 200 people show up weekly between racers AND
spectators. theres a good number more people in my area that are running v8 making anywhere from 1000hp(n/a) to as high as 2500(forced/nitrous). btw wtf are you talking about reading comprehension i made no comment about you comparing rbs to vrs but since you desire that here yah go, the rbs are making about 1200hp, its rare for them to go much higher then that i only know of three rb engines in the world making 1600. the supra 2jz is the engine that regularly makes 1600.
nice calling my comments stupid though since you have nothing intelligent to say. Btw i dont know of anyone with an engineering degree living in a trailer park, which i have one, you have even said yourself that your comments are guess's. im providing information that is actual real world. how about you go build a car before you try to talk down to someone who has been there and done that
The VR engine is a 3.8 L V6 piston engine from Nissan. The engine is the product of further development of the widely successful VQ engine series, in particular drawing experience from the JGTC racing engines as well as Nissan's VRH engines from vehicles such as the Nissan R390 GT1.
Read the second sentance, further development of the vq engine, aka slightly thicker engine block, bored and stroked and tt. thats right off an interview that one of the import magazines had with nissan
The list you gave of what done to the VR is enough it cant really be compared to the VQ's anyway in terms of how much potential power they can make.
And i looked more into your outlaw 10.5 cars too, what a joke. When i said production based i also ment with the block the car came with, most of them have completely aftermarket engines from the block to the heads.
Hardly what i call a production engine and so further proves my point there arent many 2000hp production V8's.
dude your fucking retarded what do you think they are doing to the 1600 hp vqs!!!! the are welding the block, since there arnt enough of them for any company to make a reinforced block. its the same engine its very simple go get a vr head it will bolt on a vq block and work great. get a vq head and it will bolt onto a vr block. all the internals are interchangable, the cams are interchangeable hell even the turbo/exhaust manifold will bolt to the vq. guess what that means in the auto world?
it means its the same engine. guess what those outlaw blocks? i can bolt a production head on them, production accesorys, production intake, oil pan and every other part. they are reinforced the only difference between them and the nissan vr is that nissan reinforced the PRODUCTION BLOCK meanwhile for the outlaw cars an outside company reinforced the PRODUCTION BLOCK(well general motors did themselves) im not talking about the ford guys eather i said general motors becuase the ford guys run
crazy one off shit. while i will give you i misread the one comment(i thought you where guessing they where completely different) howevery they arnt completely different by your definition the rb25 and rb26 are completely different engines and they are not. if the majority or parts are interchangeable they are the same engine(obviously some things will not such as larger valves on a gm ls2 head cannot be put on a ls1 block simply due to the bore size)
on the vq and vr engines the parts are 90% interchangable. and by your own statment yah outlaw cars might be only .1% of v8s in the entire world but that also counts diesels and trucks, in MODIFIED v8 engines since we are only talking about modified engines the number above 2000 hp is more like 60-70% with about 20% under that number and 10% over the 3000hp rating now how many v6's make over 1600hp?
oh yah btw your comment of how they cant be compared all i have to say is lol, all an engine is, is an air pump. the more air in the more power out it has nothing to do with the particular engine. you make a 200 cubic inch engine that runs 40 psi boost and makes 1500 horsepower then a 400 cubic inch engine running 40 psi boost(for this referance the cam profiles and intakes and such will be the same just double the size to account for the larger displacement aka everything the same
outside the displacement) then the 400 cubic inch engine will make 3000 horsepower. one thing though is you dint read my original comments like a douche i havnt knocked imports at all but you automatically felt the need to insult me and defend them. if you take all the principles used on imports and apply them to a larger engine(exactly what the outlaw guys do) the larger engine will always make more power its physics, fluid and thermal dynamics no way to change it.
It has exactly like i said, modified block, completely different head, and different internals. Unless you can point me to the right place showing otherwise?.
Considering outlaw 10.5 cars make up about 0.1% if that of V8's around the world yes rare sounds like a good description.
ok there triple88a.. you "love" v8's but you still watch nissan videos.. obviously its saying something.. race this car around a track in ur v8 then say something

LOL Nissan has said nothing like that, it has a modified block, different Internals and a completely different head.
Go back to your trailer park.
chrisdef15 2 years ago
LOL what a moronic comment.
Outlaw 10.5 cars are quite rare considering the millions of other modified V8's around the world making not even close to that power.
And there is plenty more differences between the VR and VQ's then more capacity and turbo's.
And your other comment is just as stupid.
What you said in no way has any connection to me comparing RB's and VR's and i wasnt guessing anything to do with capacity.
Learn some reading comprehension.
