  • I had this 45 when I was a kid and loved this version. Thanks for posting it.

  • ... It's cool that there is a new lead line because of the Brass-section....very cool...unheard melodys on a known track....pretty cool......but it sounds often like Jo...not like Joe....

  • there is sooo many good versions of this song. the only bad one i can think of is chers lol.

  • This is the best version of Hey Joe, better than Hendrix.

  • @ivocoser Well Wilson Pickett is a better singer than Jimi.

  • @thisisntme of course Pickett is a better singer than Jimi, but I talk about the horns, the drums, the bass etc. Not only the singer, but the version is better than Hendrix and Byrds.

  • @ivocoser I can respect that. I finally heard the Byrds version, and Hendrix and Pickett have the only renditions worth listening to.

  • @thisisntme I agree. But it is great that Pickett made his version after Hendrix version.

  • @ivocoser i want to say yes, but its simply not, the guitar is too cheesy, i hate t hate extra vibrato

  • @Plimsoul97 Yer a cheesy cunt yerself mate

  • Just fantastic, adore this song with Pickett♥

  • thanks for putting this up! i was looking for this version a few months ago and couldn't find it anywhere!

  • never knew he made this song too I always just thought it was just Hendrix I guess if any song is a hit you can count on it being remade

  • @kawiman09 Theres two other distinct versions of Hey Joe-what Hey Joe is-is a social political concept that many groups in some or form used-some lyrics were different too-but check out The Leaves version-a garage band from the 60's-the lead singer Pons went on to join The Turtles fame after they broke up-and Deep Purple did a version also which is great-if you can't find the Leaves version I'll send it by email to anyone who is interested.

  • @The53rrc I just noticed the Leaves and Deep Purple versions are listed on the page-check them out
