  • Not a thing in the world wrong with what I seen here. Pack it right and you have nothing to worry about.

  • Trust me, once you've worked as a ramp agent for a while you would throw bags too. I chuck 'em all the time but they never break. The only cargo you have to be careful with is animals, HR (dead people), and musical instruments. And of course luggage with a fragile sticker on it. And if you have something breakable in your bag and don't request a sticker you might as well consider it broken. As someone who does this for a living I can tell you right now. Your bags will be thrown and dropped, shi

  • OH NO THEIR TOSSING THE BAGS... rather than gently holding the bag ever so close and settling it down like a new born. Seriously, bags are heavy and there made to be tough if your bag breaks then it was a cheap piece of crap

  • I see NOTHING wrong with this video...

  • OH NO my cocaine is all damaged, my heroin is swashed, my ecstacy tablets are broken, my marijuana is splattered, my bottle of spirits is leaking, how dare they.

  • next time u travel i hope they forget to load ur luggage lol..

  • ah, another pax with a video camera with nothing to do before there flight but pull out the old video camera and film baggage handlers for there new youtube video. Get a life.

  • o_o I think I heard a clank! ROFL damn,

  • Give me a break! You try handling 200 - 400 bags per airplane and see if you don't do the same. Some of these bags are heavy and difficult to handle. Not everyone can do it. Beside what you don't see in the background is the transfer cart that they are loading them on to, they are not just tossing them on the floor.

  • Ik, it's a disgrace

  • these people should get a life

  • Ehhh....thats hard work u know!!!!!!!!!!!

  • they got short deadlines

  • Everywhere they do it like this, if it is not worse....this is still very gentle!!

  • Shit, ill never put my hardware to luckage... (do luku)...

  • i've seen worse i gues this is ok

  • come on people give them a break... for everyone thats whining, i'd like to se you go out there and do that for a month or two and see how you like. i dont think that you would be handin' that baggage with Care

  • This is one of the problems in this country. Everyone wants to get paid for the job, but not all want to do the job right. They do not have to gently tuck each bag, but I am damn sure they can move the bag without throwing it!

  • Get out there on the ramp then if you know how to do it so properly you're the kind of person who would probably quit because it's to cold outside. They aren't even mishandling the bags anyway

  • Your the kind of person? You don't now who the HELL I am son! I am an Iraq war veteran. I know a damn thing or two about doing a job correctly. As a medic, if I didn't do my job like I was supposed to, people DIED! So screw you, you apathetic LOSER! Let 'em break your shit and see how you like it. Bet you wouldn't stick up for people half-assin' then, would you!?!?!

  • No I wouldn't stick up for people half -assing. You are right about that. But anyway these guys arent even mishandling the bags. For an Iraq war veteran you sure like to bitch about small things

  • small things that could effect my livelihood? Damn right! And the difference between and amateur and a professional is attention to detail.

  • well you're a professional crybaby. these guys aren't mishandling the bags

  • TO all of you saying 'poor airline worker' THEY DON'T GET PAID TO BREAK YOUR SHIT! Lets see if you are so sympathetic when they break your stuff. And to everyone who says just send your valuables via courier, guess what! These companies utilize these same airline to ship your stuff too. Dumb-asses! If they don't want to do the job right then they should go find another one. But lets stop feeling sorry for the idiot who doesn't want to do his job right.....

  • megalol!))

  • Seriously, you expect those workers to gently tuck in every single piece of luggage onto the cart? Wait, did i tell you that a 737 (aicraft in the video) can carry around 150 pax? And each of those 150 could check in TWO pieces of luggage, so that is at least 300 pieces of luggage, well of course, not every one brings two. But that is still a lot!

  • So what's wrong with what these guys are doing? I think it'd be very unreasonable to ask them to get down off that truck and gently place every bag down for eight hours straight every day. They're just doing their job.

  • Throwing peoples belongings around is not their job. If they don't like it they need to find new jobs! When I travel I bring the equipment that makes my livelihood possible. If it gets broken, I can't work. I can't work I don't get to eat. Forgive me if I think it reasonable to ask that they do not put my ability to feed myself at risk!

  • Throwing people's belongings IS their job, and you're wrong to blame them if you don't pack your stuff well.

Do you really think these men want to starve you? Seriously?

  • Well if you don't like it, find a different airline! Stop whining.

  • ..1) they throw because the airlines give them time limits to process and deliver baggage, usually 10 minutes. 2) if you check "your livelihood" and see this, then youre an idiot. send it ups or take amtrak from now on. dont complain until you try doing their job 3) if you dont like it you need to find another form of transportation

  • Looks good to me!!

  • I don't see anything wrong with it.Actually they're doing a very good, professional work offloading that plane

  • And that's why you can take cabin baggage.

  • dont see nytin wrong wit d video. Because if they put it away carefully it wud take dem ages and u wud b waitin in the airport for a long time

  • I think it is still alright for them to stack your baggage in such manner... A little of yank still acceptable.. Atlease they didn't trample on it!

  • HONESTLY whats wrong with tht youve got some issues bud ! go check yourself AIR CANADA IS WORSE! N I WORK FOR A BAGGAGE COMPANY!

  • I don't understand how people working at airport uploading and offloading luggage can complain, if they don't like their jobs why do they work there then? not that I'm against any of them but still

  • I certainly didn't start a youtube video complaining about my job. Simply trying to remind some narrow minded whiners that there is more going on throughout an average day on the ramp besides their one precious bag. As for the job, your absolutely right. If you don't like it leave. Which is why I'm working on my degree right now. However, I reserve the right to respond to people that mindlessly rip people like me when it isn't warrented. Hope that clarifies my point.

  • How do you like your job? I have an interview this week for US Airways to work as a thrower.

  • Not a thrower. A gentle placer.

  • that's everywhere. it's normal for an airport

  • it didnt look bad to me

  • Nothing wrong with that. How do you expect your luggage to be handled? With white gloves? You tip your bellman, the guy that pulls up your car and as a ramper for 9 years I've never gotten so much as a "thank you". I've lugged polevaulting poles across the street at SJC without a "thanks". Loading bags can be back-breaking work, in all kinds of weather from rain and snow to 115 degree heat. People don't use common sense when they pack, then they're ungrateful. Take a bus next time!!

  • like it your exactly right pal

  • If you think they're going to treat your bag, as well as a few hundred more bags, times many aircraft a day full of bags, with perfect respect, then you have an unbelievably retarded grasp on reality.

  • so what, it's my fault that this guy's got a shitty job?

  • No genius. The point is that it is a difficult job as it is without having to handle every single bag like it's made of crystal. These guys are doing the best they can with the equipment they have. All I was saying was that loading people's luggage is a tough job that is rarely apreciated and more often pissed and moaned about. I don't give a rat's ass if you think it's a shitty job but I'll say it again, if you want your bag handled like a dozen eggs, put it on your back and hump it yourself!

  • Amen to that!!!!

  • WOW, your so HARD DONE BY! lol, your really bitter. Get over yourself!

  • OK. Just as soon as you get over me. BTW, HARD DONE BY? Not asking for sympothy. I could cash a welfare check if I didn't want to work for a living. But I won't opologize for defending folks like myself that are working hard, earning an honest living from whiners that want their $1500 Louis Viutton bags treated like a document at a museum. Call it bitter if you'd like. I call it standing up for myself and others like me. Maybe you'd feel differetly if I filmed you without your knowledge at work.

  • Thats the problem SFGfanatic, there are just too many pussies in this world nowadays that all they care about is their self. I don't give a dam about what they do with baggage, Its mostly all full of clothes. They are just soo many pussies who don't know or expieriece the life of a hard worker.

  • this is the way they are trained to carry luggage. ITs only clothing that you place in chekc in luggage anyway. Placing heavy cases carefully can damage ur back and joints. You have to let gravity place the case down but just not rediculous. Never fight gravity

  • not very good

  • is that fuckin swissport lmao, thats good handling.... compared to what usually goes on

  • freaking swissport and westjet

  • you think thats bad? i think there loading really well. I worked at ups for a year haha you should see how your packages are handled there. Ever have a foot print on your package? yea thats pretty much how ups does it

  • Baggage handlers ought to start setting fire to people's luggage and throwing it in puddles and pissing on it and so forth, so that when the bags are handled "normally" (like in this video) people will remark what a caring, gentle job the handlers are doing. I'll submit this idea to management tomorrow.

  • but we already do that

  • ha ha ha !!! ;)

  • People who find this rough should go take a peak at mail centres :P this is absolutely normal. The passenger is responsible for securely packing breakable things into their suitcase.

  • there is nothing wrong with how they are sorting the bags. by the way, they are BAGS not living things. so what do you expect them to do, hug and then cuddle them softly into the loading box?!

  • If people are gonna complain about their bags being handled too rough than maybe they should give us a break and not pack 80 pound bags. Im sick of seeing a heavy tag on every bad that comes off.

  • true dat man, death to westjet

  • weasel990, which station do you work at? I handle WestJet in Toronto.

  • Oh dear... it's not better at the Danish State Railways though.. I'cve seen them handling luggage at Copenhagen Central Station.. it was not exactly careful.. :)

  • Didn't look to me like there was anything wrong here. I'm leaving for a flight in 9 days and as long as they don't lose my luggage I don't care if they kick it around like soccor ball to get it on the plane.

  • people really have no idea what the job entails

  • if you want us to treat every bag as if they were made of glass then expect a 3 hour delay while we load each bag ever so carefully. were out there in almost all weather, from 100 to -20 degrees just to make sure you can get to your destination, please show a little more respect for us instead of complaining about how we do our job

  • Seriously. And the guys in this video are not even mishandling, as far as I can tell. Yeah, there's a bit of a drop for the duffel bags, but each one of the guys walks over and puts the larger ones on the stack by hand. Considering how much each of those no doubt *weighs*, because people feel like they have to pack every freaking thing they own, I think there's no room for complaint. If you've got something fragile or delicate, take it on the plane with you!

  • the automated baggage systems at large airports beat the crap out of bags way worse than anything these guys could ever do! if every bag was treated like gold then the wait at the baggage belt would be huge. it's a lose lose for these guys, either they're too slow or too rough. you should pack a bag as if you plan to toss it down a flight of stairs...now stop bitching about these guys doing a good job!

  • Thank you!

  • I really don't see the fucking problem with how baggagehandlers threat your bags. I totally agree with what nagger100 says, ofcourse you can't threat every bag as it was made of glass, because there is no time to do that. You have a scedule to follow, and the plains must not miss it's slot. Anyway, briefcases and bags are made of solid plastic, and are capable of beeing thrown for example. I blame the passangers when something in the bag is broken. Have anyone heard about bubble wrap? seriously

  • u try picking up hundreds of 40+ lb bags a day and see if u treat each one gently and perfectly

  • totally agree with that, lifting those bags one after the other due to the time schedule is like a mini weight session at the gym. fragiles should be properly wrapped, if you think we broke it, ask how baggage gets sorted, and NO its not by hand either, youd be suprised

  • This video is a lie. In reality each bag is tended to lonvingly and gets three pats on the back.

  • Yeah, so people like to think that's what happens. We treat all bags like gold, they each get their own special pillow-padded compartment within the cargo bay ... jeeeez

  • i used to be a ramp agent.. when i did the aft cargo hold, i could throw the bags from the very bag all the way to the belt.. lol

  • nothing wrong here. If you carry fragile things in your baggage then it is your duty to tell the airline to put Fragile sticker in it. If there is no sticker. they will assume you have secured your stuff and everything inside is non-fragile. they have to load/unload the baggage in so little time, they must do it quick and this is the quickest way possible. Never carry fragile things in your baggage and if you do, tell the airline, you might pay a bit more if its fragile.

  • You should see them unload live fish and animals at my airport, if PETA ever saw what they did they would go nuts LOL

  • Wow, Baggage cart and tugs anyone?

  • in the end what do u expect... not enough pay, too much to do, too little time to do it in

  • There is nothing wrong of what these baggege handlers do. This is exactly how your baggege is treated anywhere in the world. Worse in some places. Important thing is buy a decent good quality bag and don't over load it.

  • lol im a rampy in kelowna if single handedly ripped of and broken like thousands of handles, thats what happens when people make the stupid bag to heavy

  • Going to palma in august my suit case fell from the actual hold it didnt even go on the ramp i wasnt happy but it had to b my case lol

  • i'm ramp agent in edmonton fuck . i do a lot worse then that haha

  • I know that way! Fuck I´m a luggage handler myself in Sweden, and I know that if a bag is TOO heavy you can´t be gentle with it, you can´t even lift it of the ground! =(

  • @Mankan1978 Yup. I tell people all the time, if you want your bag treated gently, pack lightly.

  • :OO: my suitcase gt smashed at manchester airport so tht shows how muh they lookft em :Omy shuitae ad to them b clingfilmed up :@

  • then again they do there best

  • i'm a baggage handler and to me them bags are being treated with care. try and offload a 220 bag flight that has to be turned around in half an hour. we simply dont have time to give ur bag 5 star treatment beacuse the plane would be delayed. then we'd get the airport, our managemant and the airlines on our backs.

  • here here , well spoken , ramp worker in dtw

  • I agree. You guys are often put under pressure especially when you have to offload someone's bag because they have missed the connecting flight.Try stepping over 220 bags to find the one to take off.Simple rule is don't put things in your bag that will get damaged.Put those things,ie in carry on...

  • not just stepping ova. some planes are packed so tight u have to offload half the bags off the plane just to find 1 bag. and then of course haul them all back on again.

  • They have no idea. 450 bags in half an hour, that's like 4 seconds per bag!

  • I work at an airport and see the guys that do this. They do a hard job loading and unloading HEAVY bags all day....some of the bags they have to deal with are so heavy they can't be lifted...so have a think about what you pack and save a baggage handlers back :-)

  • i so aggree some of the bags that people pack are so heavy thta they cant be lifted , i think that people should learn how pack when they travel

  • lol there goes grandmas heirlooms!! Seriously though, I agree with most of the comments here, it has got to be a grueling job. I don't envy them.

  • i work at Boston,MA airport and i am a baggage handeler

  • Picture this, a flight 129 pax everyone has at least 1 bag. Normal Bags weight 40-60LBS and Heavy Bags 60-80LBS theres going to be at least 100 bags on this flight. Now think about those bags and get em all in a space thats 18-25feet long and 3 feet high.Winter sucks cause you get the skis and snow boards, summer suck cause of the golf clubs. Then you add the weather and add dealing in a dangerous enviroment and a time frame, yeah your bags arent going to be treated very nicley all the time

  • These guys carry 100's of bags per day, if you were doing this job... for 5 days a week, 48 weeks a year, you would be doing the same. Im not a baggage handler, but just a thinker, i think no both sides, passengers dont like this for obvious reasons, the solution is only a few thoughts away.

  • do you think maybe what is in that suitcase ? it could be 25 kg ? or 20 kg it is heavy !

  • my dad got mad at me when i droped his lugage at the airport and i told him that that little drop wasn't anything compared to what the guys loading the lugage on the plane do and he didn't say anything else

  • Well, that explains why you dont leave labtops in luggages that are checked. WHAT MORANS WOULD PUT THERE LABTOPS AND SUCH

  • Duh! Who puts a laptop in checked-in luggage?

  • I still feel sorry for them though. Its hard work and little pay and many have back problems.

We just need to buy good luggage.

  • Easy to Avoid that, just carry-on. Problem solved

  • yeah, thats why amy parents always keep their breakable things in the overheads or as an underseat carry-on

  • 5 GBP an hour and that is what you get for it.

  • THIS IS WHY I GOT MY LAPTOP BROKEN

  • That is why I try always carry as most of my camera equipments on cabin...

  • As I do, and most of people who care of their cameras and lens ;-)
