  • I don't know much about guns, but that one looks pretty cool.

  • The very sad thing is that my uncle tried to the wrong bullet in it and got it stuck so he threw it in the river.

  • I was a little surprised to see how many rounds fit into that little "case", if you will.

  • Notice you've got a scrape there on your thumb. Hammer pop back and getcha there?

  • aah mauser aint that some sweet stuff over there, :) in my opinion this gun is way more buetifull then the 1911 :)

  • Resident evil 4's Rednine! :D Leon handles it a lot better! :O oh damn

  • I found a Chinese replica from 1936 selling for $2500! How is it to fire one of these things? I know they've got a lot of firepower and range, but are they accurate?

  • @Rmeister007 They do not have huge firepower, and are only a bit different than shooting any other 9mm pistol. As for accuracy, they are good, but the shooter's skill is the most important factor. I suck using pistols, personally, and excel using assault rifles and beltfed machineguns. The cool thing about the C96 is its history. It was one of the first automatic pistols made in great numbers. It is all milled parts, making it very expensive to produce by today's standards.

  • lol. you shouldve shot it sideways.

  • Damn Red Dead Redemption lying about this thing being full auto... Bastards. Well it's a good thing I moved past that stage of "guns in video games are like real life" phase a LONG time ago. Anyway, looks like a cool gun, I'd love to get the chance to shoot one myself :)

  • was there at any time where you suffered from hammerbite with the C96?

  • Bolsheviks used to have it a lot in Civil War during 1918-1922. Cool gun for fun.

  • Walther was way better than this shit...

  • Han Solo?

  • resident evil 4 invented this gun.

  • han solo

  • And the British Lee Enfield .303 was in part designed by a very clever American

  • Nice. Do you have the wooden shoulder stock as well?

  • i think hansolo used this in star wars

  • i heard that the chinese had full auto 45 acp versions :O

  • How are the german made and chinese made different?

  • @McMonoxide Chinese copies of the Mauser K-98 were of lower quality.

  • the shop please

  • I SEE THE SPANISH "BROOM HANDLE" NIPPED YOU ! TAKE CARE OF YOUR THUMB SON.

  • Germans made big supply of C96 to Russia for making red revolution 1917. Many bolsheviks has C96.

  • isnt it russian? i guesed it cause of red ochestra 2 heroes of staligrand

  • @minitos1 Stop making INCORRECT comments based on video games, kid. You just show the world how ignorant you are. The Mauser c96 is German. The Chinese also made copies of this gun for their police in the 1930's. I suppose you think real life is like THE SIMS....

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS

Its also used by the Chinese army in the Chinese Japanese war and the Chinese civil war.

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS That was mean :OO

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS

Just to clarify, RO2 is considered one of the most realistic WW2 First Person Shooters ever made - this user is trolling because it's issued to the Germans a sidearm you can unlock. But yes, comparing any weapon to how it functions in a video game is poor form, no matter how accurate a game is.

  • @PurePerfection

RO1 is still better due to the lack of zoom in ironsights, RO2 is still less realistic.

as for that person talking about Red Dead Redemption, yeah a full-auto C96 would be anachronistic, as the full auto variants were produced in the 1920s and Red Dead was set in 1911

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS lol your ragin'

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS The funny thing is is that in the game hes talking about, Red Orchestra 2, the C96 is, completely correctly, a German weapon. So he's wrong twice!

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS The poor guy just asked you.... You don't need to be so agressive.... just for any answers.... I am not a kid, I understand about weapons and I really like your videos. Cheers from Brazil

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS Believe it or not, I have learned alot about WW2 weapons through the RO games. The games are known for being very accurate and realistic.

  • @minitos1 video games tell u nothing, it's a german design

  • @minitos1

You're stupid, even in RO2, the C96 is a weapon issued to the high ranking German troops in game.

  • @minitos1 nope its a german weapon

  • @minitos1 LOL yeah it was in RO2 and Mauser C96 was used by germans, so i dont know what did you wanted to say...

  • @minitos1 go read book.

  • @minitos1 wtf are you stupid?

  • @minitos1 dude just because you play war games doesn't make you a gun expert

  • @minitos1 dawg mauser dont even sound russian

i was insulted as a german to read that

  • this thing was really an innovation. Considering its age, its not thaaaat damn ugly.

    LOL.

  • Love the sounds it makes

  • @WonderfulDenmark I stumbled upon one of these at an estate sale last year. The guy didn't know much about it and said he was pretty sure it was broken beyond repair. He was asking $60, complete with stock/holster! I drove 100mph to the nearest ATM to get the cash. All it needed was a spring and a screw to restore it to firing condition. Just keep looking, you never know when you might stumble upon the deal of a century. Most gun owners know damn well what they have and would never let a gun li

  • Sorry but thats an ugly little gun.

  • @driftability Not as ugly as a Glock IMHO (the Glock is reliable but its looks are a crime against humanity.)

  • How do you get the ammo for this?

  • just wondering, but could the stripper clip be physically inserted into the magazine then pulled back out?

  • @thelegendaryblah No, the stripper clip does not go into the magazine. There are stops to prevent that. The round slide out of the stripper clip into the magazine. I did not have the correct stripper clip in the video, so it was tough putting cartridges in, but it was close. The correct stripper clip or a better quality one would have worked easier.

  • 1896?????????

  • @hotwheel360 Yes, Mauser started making these in 1896. The one in the video was made in 1912.

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS Really Cause The Waffen SS Model Was Built In 1936 or something im not to sure but thanks for the reply

  • @hotwheel360 There is no Waffen SS model. C96 pistols were used by the Waffen SS early on in the war and just before the war, when then were not allowed to obtain arms from the government, so they had to use any leftover firearms they could find.

  • what I would give, even for a replica (functioning of course).

  • this one is 9mm PARA,but original was 7.63 mauser which have Rusians took for their Tokarev and PPS Spagin, they just changed it in 7.62 Tokarev.Even now there is big number made in China and some of them are in 45 ACP.Very good gun even now after 115 years.I seen a quite number of them used in Balcan wars in 1990-1996.

  • apparently my neighbor found one in their attic and not knowing the value of the gun sold it for a 100 dollars!

  • @runnybabbit12. Yeah, it's called a Glock.

  • lol ugly looking sunuvabitch gun

  • I love the gun my grand father used it during the Sino japanese war and the Chinese civil war it's a great point defense and assault weapon

  • Just a few words to tell you that an interesting downloadable ebook on this model (technical and historic aspects) is available at HLebooks.com.

  • Thumbs up for Red Dead Redemption and its guns :D

  • The gun looks like hell to clean! :P

  • my dad has a mauser and the slide is locked back we dont have a stripper clip any ideas how to get it back

  • @therdrplayer9 try depressing the magazine spring from the top and slowly relese the slide, try not to pinch your finger.

  • Is that a mark on your thum made by the gun?..

  • Click Bum Click Bum Click Bum Click... WtF :D

  • It recalls me, times of Resident Evi...

  • I think the mauser is cooler than the luger :P

  • a pure weapon! pure german!

  • @ambspier What has purity got to do with an antique weapon? Would you call my M1 Garand pure American? It was designed by a very clever Canadian, mind you...

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS Canadians they won ww2 for us by making the m1

  • @ambspier ?????????????????????

  • damn that pistol looks sexy.

  • that my friends is a gentle mans pistol

  • is it true that you can use the recoil for a fast swing if hold sideways?

mgs3 ftw btw! Eva is badass with the gun :)

  • Winston Churchill actually carried a broomhandle pistol.

  • You said that it was made in Germany in 1912 so I assume that you're referring to your pistol instead of the all C96's because it was invented in 1898 (the year the best non-religious leader the world had ever seen died- Otto von Bismarck) and was super revolutionary since it had 20 rounds and was loaded so fast. (I do know that revolvers existed and that these loaded quickly too but a 20 rounds in one pistole was just crazy!)

  • @Bismarckisawesome The gun I am shooting this video as specifically made in 1912. That's all I'm saying.

  • @Bismarckisawesome "This C96" would imply he is referring to his pistol and his pistol alone,,,

  • @Bismarckisawesome I won't disagree that Bismarck was awesome, but I don't know where you got your facts on the gun, because they're out of synch with reality. The original spec C96s only held ten rounds, while later variants dating from the 1910s to the '30s had six or twenty-round magazines as well, determined by the caliber and intended purpose. Also, stripper clips are not a "revolutionary" way to load a weapon. Earlier pistols loaded much faster with box magazines, like the Borchardt C-93.

  • The sexiest pistol ever created in history.........in my humble opinion~

  • Have you fired the Type 17 before, because I want to know whats it like to use?

  • hooya

  • Jesus christ, there are a ton of armchair generals/call of duty players who spew their uneducated opinions as if *they* are informing *you* ! Tools. Great vid, thanks.

  • it's impossible to reload!

  • Wow, nice firearm. Thxs for posting.

  • Thumbs up if ur here because of Resident Evil 4.

  • @MetallumGamer im here because of red dead redemption :P

  • saw one of these at a gun shhow and it was awesome....and fuckin expencive

  • i thought that the c96 was the Chinese .45 variant

  • How the fuck did you your hands on that gun?

  • 9mm Parabellem? I thought they were 7.63 Mauser. I guess it depends on which model.

  • classic, reliable, and attractive to the eye

  • Resident evil 4 :)

  • Fun fact: they used modified C96s as props for Han Solo's blaster in Star Wars.

  • @bandman232 really ? thats pretty cool

  • @bandman232 I thought his gun looked simular to this

  • @panzermiskolc dident the Chinese make a version of this?

  • hey did you get hammer bite on your thumb?

  • Fully aut. too

  • i want so bad!!

  • I watched the movie 'Tracker' the other day and the main charakter, a Boer, who leaves South Africa after the Second Boer War, uses a C96 as his sidearm. I was happy to see one of the rare appearances of this weapon in movies. And also in the right historical context, as the Second Boer War was the first conflict, that saw wide use of self-loading pistols in the form of the C96.

  • would love to see a working reproduction of this gun

  • I just noticed the hammer has the potential to break your thumb if you hold the pistol from too high up.

  • thats cool...but will it blend?

  • my fav pistol ever :)

  • So how would this thing feed modern defense +P or +P+ hollow points?

  • this is my favorite WWII gun ever. :D

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good pistol man!

  • Great sound quality. Great pistol.

  • red dead redemption got me here!!

  • i have a replica

  • That's an ugly gun.

  • does this gun not have a detachable magazine?

  • nice gun i wish i could leagly own a gun if i could id have one of those and a luger

  • one heck of a gun

  • Han Solo's gun, anyone?

  • Isn't Han Solo's blaster based off of this gun?

  • @MrUbertubers Yes.

  • i thought a C 96 could hold up to 20 rounds... different design?

  • Is that some hammer bite I see at :56? lol, cool gun man thanks.

  • Cool mauser what is the sights like on it are they adjustable and presice

  • some famous victims with this model?

  • does it not have a magazine you can put into it? do you have to use the stripper clip?

  • @smashbar333 Some had a box magazine that you insert in below, but most were top-loaders, and used either a stripper clip or manual loading.

  • Look like u had some major slide bite

  • this looks exactly like the chinese pistol from fallout 3

  • @Gamespflow They based the Chinese pistol in fallout on this gun. "A relic of the Sino-American War, the Type 17 is a mass-produced sidearm, based on the template of the early 20th century Mauser C96 pistol. It shares its appearance with it, with the addition of the manufacturer's stamps and the text on the sides." that was quoted from the vault (fallout wiki)

  • @Gamespflow "A relic of the Sino-American War, the Type 17 is a mass-produced sidearm, based on the template of the early 20th century Mauser C96 pistol. It shares its appearance with it, with the addition of the manufacturer's stamps and the text on the sides."

  • Han solo's gun....

  • I NEED A LITTLE HELP ABOUT MY 96 BROOMHANDLE.wHY IS ONE MODEL CALLED A BOLO.tHE OTHER QUESTION A GUN COLLECTER TOLD ME TO HAVE A REPO WOOD STOCK AND CASE AGAINST THE LAW,AND MY PISTOL COULD BE CONFISCATED, IM IN FLORIDA.THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.

  • a beautiful and sexy pistol

  • your lucky the old gun didnt blow your hand

  • @bracha84 It's not luck. It's excellent gun design.

  • Can it be converted into full-auto?

  • Wow! Beauty! How much does that cost on the market? I imagine it's pretty expensive, because its a collectors item.

  • winston churchill actually owned one in his early years. i belive it was a 7.63 mauser though

  • anybody smell the red9 from RE4?

  • @randomman099 I smelled it from a mile away. I smell it in MGS4 as well. the best spagehtti western The Great Silence, the hero uses that gun. I want it badly.

  • Pretty neat I have always found the Broomhandle one of the coolest firearms. Thanks for the video

  • I've got the airsoft model

  • Damn that guy needs slight of hand!!!

  • my dad had a chinese .45

  • thumbs up if you actually know this gun from something other than a videogame or t.v. show.

  • I'unno, it's kinda ugly. Not as pretty as a Luger P08

  • @4lligator That's part of its appeal.

  • i want one of these so friggin bad

  • the handgun of choice for gentlemen.

  • im getting a replica one of these for my birth day cant wait

  • It looks like han solos blaster.

  • Can it go automatic? Nice gun btw. :)

  • oh sorry you suck at reloading but dam nice gun

  • @caradeculo6543 Well I was not in a hurry, and the stripper clip was out of spec. Let me know when you make a movie with an expensive antique firearm.

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS the WW2 version of this had a long, folding buttstock and could fire full auto. I'm surprised u couldn't get a hold of the full auto version of this

  • @UFCMania98 The Model 712 Mauser pistol had a detachable wooden stock that also served as a holster, just like this model 96 does. There was no "WWII version". The few Mauser pistols that were used in WWII were all made in the 1930's or before. By the way, the Model 712 when used on full auto was nearly impossible to be accurate with. It was RARELY used in full auto. Wasting your ammo and hitting nothing gets you dead fast.

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS true. but if my MP40 ran out of ammo, I'd rather have the 712 model than nothing lol

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS bet it was deadly upclose though

  • @UFCMania98 this gun wasnt in mw2

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS I saw a gun that appeared to be this in a pawn shop a while ago. Are there other recreations of the design or was it most likely authentic? It appeared to be really old but I don't remember the name or price since it was several years ago.

  • @SecondAgeOfReason If you saw it in a shop, it was original, either German or Chinese made, since they don't make reproductions. Also, if it was in a pawn shop, it was most likely overpriced. Pawn shops exist for ONE REASON.. to make a profit, and a large one. You can buy one directly from an owner for the best deal.

  • I'm 19 so not quite the time for large investments in historical items yet, but the gun definitely looks cool haha. I think I might want to get a .22 target pistol or something.

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS what country are you in

  • @SecondAgeOfReason i saw one at a porn shop

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS is there a place to buy a more modern version of this gun?

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS just curious but what could one expect to pay for the c96

  • @leadfoot210 Around $1200.

  • @DARIVSARCHITECTVS thats not to bad is that including the conversion from 7.63mm to 9mm

  • @caradeculo6543 You are an idiot. First. Thats a pistol, not a gun. How about try being polite instead of a snot nosed punk. Oh yeah you are an idiot.

  • @caradeculo6543 pwnd

  • I am gonna restore my C96 mauser soon and fire it . I cant wait !

  • i saw one of those at a gun & knife show i wanted to get one but it was $1200 and i only bring $700 oh well maybe next time

  • i saw one of those at a gun & knife show i wanted to get one but it was $1200 and i only bring $700 oh well maybe next time

did you just get pinched whille shooting it?
