Im an ohio state fan and i thought our drums were "traditional" well they're not they look and sound traditional but they are modernized traditional snares
This band has a wicked high "wow" factor (and this from a UMass alum). At least one band plays real drums, not those formica countertops or whatever the shit is kids play today. So someone in Aggieland tell me - why doesn't the Aggie Band consider using rope-tensioned drums? They'd actually be louder and they'd definitely have a high cool factor.
@littlefield19 I asked that question of a professional musician who was a percussionist in the FTAB: "Rope-tensioned drums are definitely cool, but the FTAB won't use them because : 1) They aren't tough enough for our use. They are very expensive and comparatively delicate 2) In our highly variable Texas weather, we would never be able to keep them in tune 3) Our drummers already overbalance the band, to the point that many of the underclassmen use toms instead of snares."
Thank you, kgoff1225! Video was shot with a Canon Vixia HV30. Vixia is Canon's HD line of consumer camcorders. I edit with PowerDirector and render it to a Windows Media Video 9 High Quality file before uploading it to youtube. This seems to be faster and gives a clearer result than any other method I have tried.
They are definitely a State Treasure. (P.S. If any of them ever move to Houston after graduating, that cross-through exercise will have been great preparation for driving through some of the rush-hour street intersections here.)
The is before a Kyle Field record crowd of over 90,000 and a world record student attendance of more than 31,000 students ... more students than they have at the main University of Nebraska–Lincoln campus!
The first march is -- what else! -- PATTON!

Apologies for the lousy audio during the halftime drill - the wind overpowered my windscreen.
