@devilninjas Sorry I disagree, perhaps in your case it is different, but when I had a PC I used it for most of my leisure activities and my Mac was used for productivity (creating websites, using flash MX, photoshop etc...). PC was just for gaming, which I rarely even do anymore.

i'm not a mac fan but wow everything you said was plain ignorant and dumb. first of all, macs use ram, as do all OSes. even if for some impossible reason they did not, why would that matter? mac use pc hardware so windows doesn't run any faster or slower on a mac. bootcamp is not going to make the mac portion prone to viruses just because windows gets them. its a separate partition, its inactive, and applications only work on the OS they were compiled for, therefore, the mac portion is safe

@TheFunky333 popularity is a factor for infections, but you would be wrong saying it's the main reason. all unix-like OSes (which includes mac) are natively secure. you can't just simply put a file on a unix-like os and you can't just run anything you want on them without being authorized, not even remotely. in windows, it is nearly effortless to run something (or have something automatically run) even if you aren't authorized to do so.  windows is naturally insecure.

I used Tiger about 2 years (Snow for about 3 Months).. every day. The funny spinning Beachball came verry often. An after one Year of use, a Intel update destroyed all my Data. Yeah.. Mac really owns.. in Painting/Cutting/Video Editing.

But if it's going over to Engineering... it simply f*** sucks. No Maple/Matlab /Catia/Solid Edge.. and 3D-Programms don't work too good on it. (Except you pay Apple a Buttload of Money for their "Mac_Pros") (I could Built them cheaper by myself)

Windows Movie Maker is not meant to be professional software, hence why it's free.

iLife currently stands at $79. Check the Apple website. My point? iMovie comes with iLife and is not free. It is included into the price of your Mac. If I wanted to make a professional movie, I would not buy iLife, I would use Adobe Premier or something worthwhile with my money.

Operating Systems have important functions to perform - making cool websites and movies in not one of them. Thats down to 3rd parties.
