Beautiful dogs ! We have tried to get our 6 year old male dog with another bitch, but every time she has refused. Is it that she is not on heat, or is our male dog too old ? Cos he's tried to do it with a neutered female (his new girlfriend) but he didn't mount again ! Any suggestions ? :)
@startopsghs Thanks! If the female refuses she has her reasons, I would not force anything. Normally dogs know quite well what they do, if the female and the male don´t "match" chances are high that they won´t mate voluntarily even if the female is in heat. I don´t think your male is too old. The female beeing neutered does not matter for the male. Do you already know what to do with/how to feed/where to put the puppies? If yes you could look for another female who is in heat.
@lilau090 The bigger, lighter-colored dog is Balu (male) and the smaller, darker-colored dog is Wendy (female), they can wag their tails because the tail is a completly different body-part, they "stick together" quite beneath the tail...;-)

Lots of breeders I have helped at or been to are very LOUD I mean it is impossible for them to get the dogs to even sit still to get in a cage much less mate cause then the male is jumping all over the female and then the female get angry and it comes to them forcing her to mate not natural at all, even though this was not natural it was better cause you where coaching them through it great man.

We didn´t just give them away but rather we were happy to have more people asking for pups than were born so we could easily sort out the potential buyers and find nice families for them. Our pups all became good family companions and of course we´re rather proud on them!;-) And since we still have contact with their new families we can be sure they really enjoy their new territory.

Our dogs life WITH us, we don´t have kennels and where we are our dogs and puppies are. We raise our dogs as family companions and we provide them a varied diet. Our puppies get socialized with other aimals as well as with other humans. We only let them go to their new family if we find a family that treats them with the proper...
respect, if we do´tfind such fasmilies we keep the puppies, simple as that. Breeding means responsibility, and knowing where the puppies will go is one thing. We don´t "produce" puppies but have had 3 (planned) litters in 10 years. Thanks! Oh, Strommer is our dog-cat because he always is where the dogs are. Wherever we are in the garden he is with the dogs, he likes them. Of course he also has some cat-friends, but he likes the dogs nevertheless.

for all who want to know WHY dogs get stuck during the mating: both the penis and the vulva swell, additionally the female has some ring-musculature to anchor the male when the vulva is fully erect. This can only happen during a few special days (approx. 3-5 days) in her heat when the female is "ready". There´s nothing mysterious about it, just nature at work!;-)

Well, for starters not only dogs are overpopulated. But this is not part of the problem. The problem is the respectless attitude from humans towards other animals. there will be someone to satisfy this demand in one way or another. And sadly this way is often the "bad" way: cheap, profit-greedy and without any care about the animal´s demands. That´s the majority of the socalled "breeders".;-( Hence every puppy from us is a puppy less from such breeders, and that´s good.
We treat our animals with respect and we provide them the best life we can afford. Our puppies are allowed to life with their family for a minimum of 10 weeks before we let....

We don´t "produce" puppies but have had 3 (planned) litters in 10 years. Thanks! Oh, Strommer is our dog-cat because he always is where the dogs are. Wherever we are in the garden he is with the dogs, he likes them. Of course he also has some cat-friends, but he likes the dogs nevertheless.

beautiful dogs!!! my 40 lb Male Lagotto mated with my 50 lb female Duck-tolling retriever. she had 3 pups and they were beautiful!!! they are now 2 months and ready for adoption. all males. medium length hair, wavy. 2 brown and white and 1 pure white with light brown ears and feet. they are clowns!! wish they could stay here!!!

for all who want to know WHY dogs get stuck during the mating: both the penis and the vulva swell, additionally the female has some ring-musculature to anchor the male when the vulva is fully erect. This can only happen during a few special days (approx. 3-5 days) in her heat when the female is "ready". There´s nothing mysterious about it, just nature at work!;-)
