@CoffeeShopification Actually, no. Ironically, I've been teaching myself Scruggs style banjo and I thought my dobro playing would be a back door entrance to playing banjo. The right hand posture is diffrent in that with the dobro, the back of your palm rests on the strings as a mute, where as with the banjo, the hand is supported by the last two fingers.
Omg thank you for writing back, i really would say that ur a pro at this, its a beautiful peace, i have just started learning slides, its a difficult task for me but i tought myself to play the guitar so im sure i can learn this, you make it seem so harmonic like, its amazing, my parents and i just love it, thanks so much! ~August~
Firstly, thank you for kind words. It's a Hank Williams song called "(When the) Pale Horse and His Rider (Goes By)". I would love to do more however, I don't have a video camera. This video happened as I was busking. I had just started the song, looked up, and someone was pointing a camera at me. I was mildly startled and didn't regain my composure(i.e. you can hear me rush the beat during the instrumental break). Thanks again.
Great music. I'm an atheist so I really didn't connect with the message but I'm becoming truly interested in the Dobro guitar. I've had no interest in playing music but this is one instrument I would really like to get into. I more of affinity toward blues but I still like bluegrass.
Nice job ---- love the dobro....just bought myself one....

Do dobro players use a similar picking technique as the bluegrass banjo method? I play a banjo and am looking forward to buying one of these.
