it may be the same but it's no where near as good as it is in the toronto version. they simplified things massively when they brought it to london on this song, before 35 seconds it's all original to the toronto one and then it's basically same lyrics and basic melody but i find the way the melody is carried in this version is much more powerful
well I think exactly the opposite, for me it's more powerful the london version, but well, that's just a matter of prefferences ;) Anyway, both of the shows must have been great for what I've seen, i would gladly see both of them *_*

I am in love with the music from this show & I've cry out of sheer joy when I hear this sent down from heaven! I can't wait to see the show in May for my birthday!
I miss this show. I miss the Toronto version. I miss this song the way it is. I just got the soundtrack today, and even though it's still those wonderful songs, they're just not the same. There's something missing, an ethereal feeling, a regal quality. It's like they listened to the harsh critisicm in Toronto and changed all the wrong things. It's still a fantastic and mindblowing show in London... but it's just not the same. Thanks again for these posts. I miss this show.
i love this song, it's like amazing and compared to the "Star of Earendil" it kicks it's ass and i may just cry if it doesn't end up on the soundtrack
I actually just cried. I cried when I saw this part in Toronto, because it was so inconceivably amazing, and I never thought I would hear it again! Thank you!
The soundtrack for the London Cast is supposed to be released in October. It was delayed from August to October. It's better than nothing. However, this song is now called, "Star of Earendil." not the same lyrics..
O.O I WANT TO SEE THIS! If there is ever ANY release of this show in soundtrack or DVD form, I WANT IT! (If anyone posts the show on here *hint* I would love them forever.)
This is amazing.
I wish I could have seen it ): Damn california.

This us awesome compared to "Star of Earendil". this weas the best song in the whole musical from what I know. Why did they have to change it?

The base is the same, in fact I think is the same melody, but with some arrangement. Listen carefully to both of them, and you will notice it.

Wow, you said it! That's exactly what is missing in the London version, I think -- that ethereal feeling/regal quality. Well said. :)

This brings back so many memories I LOVED this show
STUPID critics it definatly taught me that critics don't know what they're talking about!
you think they'd at least support it in order to bring tourism up but no they aren't that smart!
